Pattaya is a popular sea side tourist destination in Thailand. However there is no airport in Pattaya. So you have to travel from Bangkok. It is 150 KM away from Bangkok and can be reached by road or by train.
Journey by train is not convenient as trains are mostly local trains and take about 4 hours. Most of the tourists travel by road. Motorway is excellent. You can travel by bus and it is cheap. Bus fare from Bangkok to Pattaya is about 150 Baht and takes 2.45 to 3 hours. Buses are air-conditioned and comfortable. You will get direct bus from Suvarnabhumi airport to Pattaya. However there is no direct bus from Don Mueang airport. You need to go to Mochit Bus Terminal by a shuttle bus and get the Pattaya bound bus there from.
Another way to travel from Bangkok to Pattaya is by Grab taxi or by car hired from agencies. Fare is about 1200 baht to 1500 baht and it takes about 1 Hr 45 mints.
