I adore this ship, all the other ships seemed off in dynamic. Bubblegum was too old and had too many responsibilities to really hang out, flame princess was too dangerous and didn’t really share all the same interests Finn did. Huntress Wizard likes adventuring and fighting, and their dynamic is cute. I like them. I doubt they have a canon ending together. I wish we got more of them together, especially during the war.
Was HW’s age ever revealed? I remember that in the episode Wizard Battle, which was in season 3, HW looked the same as she did in the later seasons. Perhaps she’s immortal like PB.
@@breadslice9184 no way. Just because she was in the van with Finn at the end of Obsidian doesn't mean they were together. Finn also ended up dancing alone at the end of that movie.
@@junelaananke7138There are a ton of hints to it from him Talking about huntress wizard a lot to him going off to visit her after trying to help Simon to even one of his children in farm world who looks very similar to both huntress wizard and Finn.
"The story of a hormonal teenager who had gone from obsessing over ever crush he had to a young man who understood the futility of war" holy crap that's a fantastic sentence!
I love that the three main ships of Finn kind of embody how kids experience relationships growing up. Bubblegum is the older girl you idolize as a kid and think the world of and want to be with. Like crushing on a teen when you're a kid. Flame princess is someone you can be with, but your complicated teenage hormones cause you to mess things up and act melodramatically for selfish reasons. Then HW is just some you like to hang out with, and think is cool. You stop over thinking things. You just, like someone and you're happy. Kissing isn't a monumental moment. It just happens.
SPOILER : In Fionna and Cake episode 2, Finn mentions Huntress Wizard twice. Not only does this mean they still talk, but she is clearly someone still on his mind often. He also explicitly says at the end of the episode that he was going to go visit her. From what we seen Finn doing in "Obsidian" + "Simon Petrikov", he seems to be living a life apart from her. This likely means they have their same relationship dynamic of being free to live their own lives, but have a strong bond to care and love one another. Maybe I am reading too much into it, but it sounds like an incredibly mature relationship. One that most people wouldn't understand right away, but one that works entirely for both of their characters.
@@adamknife2484I'm curious about how Finn's story continues, but idk if it would be good as the main focus of a show. We already know he doesn't really move on from Jake's death, and that he will eventually die while adventuring, so character development wise they'd be a bit limited on what they can do. I would love to see more stuff featuring them, but probably closer to how they did in Fionna and Cake, just with more appearances than 1 episode, and having Huntress actually show up also.
@@freshrimp9013I’d like to see where Finn is heading after Fiona and cake ended as well, but I do agree that he should not be the center of attention should they make another spinoff. My guess is he’ll probably upload himself once he reaches old age just so that he can spend time with his mother Minerva.
It feels kinda like how Jake and Lady Rainicorn were. Still in love, still married, still had kids, but they lived apart from each other. Their own lives and adventures. It's kinda sweet actually. Even if it's not conventional.
I absolutely adore this ship. While I'll always have fond memories of Finn x FP, Finn x Huntess Wizard was fantastic between Finn maturing enough to have a romantic relationship with the two dynamic being very entertaining and wholesome.
It works because there’s reasonable arguments that they did and did not get together after the finale. It’s up to the viewer’s interpretation and it works both ways in my opinion.
I actually do really like this kind of ship. It leaves it open to fan interpretation. We know they like each other. We don’t need to see a dramatic get together kiss and a happily ever after.
I think huntress wizard works because she kinda is the girl most similar to Finn in terms of personality and interests/hobbies. She is a free spirit just like him that loves to go on adventures. Not someone with an important duty like being a princess of an entire kingdom or a girl with a volatile personality that Finn needs to try to understand or do the effort to make her understand him.
You made me realize that aside from Finn's immaturity, it was always the fact that he was with Princesses that made it extremely complicated for him. He would never truly understand their responsibilities and some of them are borderline insane imo.
HW was the breath of fresh air that poor guy deserved. Years of betrayal by his closest "friends", constant existential crises, being brutally forced from a carefree, innocent child into a hardened, family-killing war amputee - what Finn needed most was someone simple and grounded, with no ulterior motives, and mature enough to be genuine with him.
I love everything about Huntress Wizard. Her design, her voice, her personality, all great. I love how Finn invited her to his birthday party too, and she tries to help him by cramming an elk's heart in his mouth lol And Fiona and Cake confirm that Finn is still with HW. She doesn't appear, but Finn mentions her as though he sees her regularly. And Fiona even started crushing on Hunter, HW's male counterpart in her world.
At least one more would have been awesome. I applaud the writers of the show for creating such a lovable character out of nowhere so deep into the show’s runtime.
The ambiguous ending felt to me like they were deliberately making a point. Hard to put it into words precisely, but I think they were saying: "Who Finn ends up with wasn't ever meant to be the focus of the show. His experiences have taught him to value friendship above romance, and that attitude is healthy and good. This was wasn't a soap opera, it was a coming of age story, and now that Finn's all grown up, it's over. Whether he eventually settles down doesn't matter- it has nothing to do with the story we wanted to tell."
yeah i totally agree- I mean, aside from that tho finn wasn't even 18 by the end of the series... you can't expect a 16 year old to be ready to settle down so him being alone also makes sense from that perspective too
@@gaigeschaal9070 This is exactly it. This is what the finale left us with: Life goes on, even when we aren't looking. The part we got to watch is over, but the characters will keep living their stories. In a thousand years, they'll all be gone - but for now, their stories continue. And when they're gone, someone new will rise up to write their own story. And so the cycle continues. _Will happen, happening, happened._ _Will happen, happening, happened, and_ _Will happen, again and again_ _'Cause you and I will always be back then._
While a lot of people scoff at Huntress Wizard's speech at the end of Flute Spell, I actually really liked the concept of love as "the secret of ordinary people". Obsidian is a good example of what I think the writers were getting at with that line: from the opening credits the special juxtaposes Marceline's epic punk rock persona with the simple domestic life she's building with PB. Ultimately she has to let the teen angst that had driven and defined her go, because love isn't slaying monsters, its just sharing hot cocoa while wearing fuzzy sweaters. And while Huntress Wizard is probably exaggerating how much she'd have to change to make a relationship work, I'm definitely not knocking her for not being willing to take that step.
How did the end song not come up in the video. "Come along with me, to a cliff under a tree, We can wander through the forest and do so as we please" Huntress wizard lives on a cliff under a tree and her whole thing is doing what she wants. Its her song to Finn.
Huntress Wizard was such a great and unexpected addition to the show in its final seasons. I always loved the chill vibe that she had and Jenny Slate brought a lot of charm to the role. If Finn was going to end up with anyone considering the way he matured as the show went on, HW would be perfect.
Finntress is genuinely my favorite ship ever and Huntress Wizard is one of my favorite characters of all time. So nice to see someone make a video of the two of them!
I always felt that Finn and HW are perfect for each other, but not in the normal/traditional way. They're both free spirits who need their space and freedom. They seem like one of those couples who do love each other, but will be apart more often than not. They both have their own stuff to do, but will be more than happy to see each other once in a while. Which seems fitting for the both of them in terms of romance.
I love these kind of surprise relationships. The ones you don't see coming, but kinda work because after all the past ships being treated like such big deals it's nice to see something casual with no drama.
Him being ok with her leaving is great. It shows that he had grown in maturity and acceptance. This is something I wish other people would do, when they become rejected, they can pursue a greater friendship. This is something I have gone through, the person didn't like me back but that rejection has happened to me enough to go "ok man, I get it :)" I was sad for a bit but out friendship grew stronger and greater for it. I have alot of respect for that person and how they handled that moment with me. To come at it with a level of maturity, instead of saying "ew" and ghosting like some have. I have rejected people in my life as well, and I cried after all of them, feeling like shit for rejecting someone. Overall I think maturity is the best thing you can have in these situations, that is something Finn had at the moment.
The best depiction of a healthy friends-with-benefits relationship in animation, in my opinion. Btw, that term isn’t exclusive to sexual activities. It can mean a very casual relationship without too much commitment.
@@TotalleeLee I mean, I guess you can label yourselves whatever you want, but if there are romantic feelings involved, I think it would rather be a casual relationship or something without a label :O
yknow, i agree with this! these two as a ship never truly excited me (idk, just not my thing maybe? i have specific tastes in dynamics) but this is exactly how i saw them! I think it takes 2 very mature people to have this type of relationship with each other (despite maybe some thinking the opposite). It takes emotional maturity to be okay with something more casual and grey rather than having a set strict label for it. I like to think that they had romantic feelings, but it was never truly enough to be really seriously committed to one another. and they both had a healthy agreement to stay platonic with each other after a while. We see finn alone in the specials, and i think thats perfect because.... hes not alone! He has so many friends and family, so many people he loves and love him back. His spirit is a free one and he probably realized that he works best when hes not in one place for too long. I think thats perfect actually when it comes to canon!
I always loved that they didn't offically pair Finn with anyone in the end. I guess because I always ship characters that will never actually get together I genuinely prefer shows to focus on building character and story with romance being more of a side dish or having no romance at all. That way I actually give enough of a shit about characters to want them to get together. I also really love in Distant Lands where it's shown how Finn's only consistent soul mate is Jake. (You can have more than one soul mate and more than one at a time.) I love depictions of non-romantic soul mates and I don't think I've ever seen something as relatively mainstream as AT show one so explicitly EDIT: So many people here saying Finn would never have a long term romantic relationship because he's single at 17 lmao! Like, tell me you're under 25 without saying you're under 25
I agree. Some people are upset that Finn ended up alone while ships like Bubbline became canon, but what they don’t acknowledge is that a long-lasting relationship was never something that was actually attainable for Finn. Friendship is what Finn learned to care about above all else.
@@chrisperez9854 I mean, that wasn't the issue for me, rather it felt like Finn's development was pinned under his friendship with Jake. It feels like Finn didn't really grow beyond after Jake death. I mean, look at Jake. Had a great family and a great relationship, got over his toxic card wars tendencies and made peace with his old relationships and reckoned with his criminal past. Dude was well rounded out when he died, which was evident when he was basically reaching enlightenment in the after life. What about Finn? Well, from what we heard and seen, he kept adventuring and what not, but dude was locked in the past. Never connected with anyone else. That doesn't sound like he appreciated friendship, it sounds like he was obsessed with one friendship. He gained a lot of adventure experience, but other than that, the guy just died old and alone. I find that massively depressing, if anything.
@@cj6498 Especially considering that Finn was the protagonist. At least he was until the writers became obsessed with Bubbline. Don't get me wrong, I liked PB and Marcy as much as the next person, but I liked their dynamics with Finn specifically. Finn deserved a happy ending after he grew from FP. It really just seemed like the writers resented him for his cishet white maleness if I'm being honest.
@@SeaStarTea I dunno about all that, I'm just saying that Finn deserved a better defined final character form. I can't even say the guy deserved happiness, but he deserved a better closing form of being. He deserved more than just man stuck in past, throwing himself into work until death. Finn was focused on hard, throughout the series. There was so much development, so much struggle that he faced. But at the end, it got washed away into his codependence with Jake, his brother who somehow had gotten a better end than him. Finn didn't even essentially need to be with someone at the end, he needed a definition of being, something that would have shown Finn at his best form beyond relationships, something that showed him overcoming all his traumas and held his ideals of heroism in it's truest form. As it stands, all I see of Finn's character is him screaming Jake's name as a skeleton in the void. Again, just massively depressing.
Tbh, I honestly think that HW and Finn does end up together bc in Fionna and Cake series, in one of the episode, we see Farmboy Finn with children that gives off a lot of details that look like they're HW children. So that plus this is equaling to them possibly ending up together.
Surprised you aren't also considering talking about Jake and Lady Rainicorn. While true Rainicorn doesn't get to do too much herself, she still has the occasional episode and overall it's one of those rare instances where you get to see just a nice relationship between two characters from the very start all the way to the end, no ifs ands or buts about it. Which hell it's pretty much the only pairing in Adventure Time like it.
I enjoy Lady Rainicorn. We get to see more of her personality--especially in the episode where she gets to hang out with Finn and Jake-- and we see WHY Jake loves her so much. She's bubbly, funny, adventurous, smart, talented, and all the things that Jake finds the best in people. Her parents are adorable, too.
Honestly, I loved how the series shifted away from Finn being a totally static, generic kid hero, life revolving around violence and girls. The last seasons were way better than the original. Finn had so much character growth, and I really loved to see him find himself by the end of the series.
it's probably good that they didn't confirm who Finn ended with and that they focused on his inner self, but I still really really wish we could have had more Finn and HW. They're so goooooooood
also because he's not even an adult at the end and he's still discovering himself... so really it makes more sense for him to not have his story tied up with a ship since his story isn't over, we just don't get to see it anymore
@@Gxylord Yeah. It honestly doesn't seem, at least to me, that he ended up with anyone at all at any point. The last we see of him being alive is back when he shows up older, bearded and rockin that absolute himbo look, seemingly mentoring and taking care of Jake's daughter, whose name currently escapes me, and unless they're together which is very unlikely, Finn seems to be single, and not really looking to mingle, which is fine by me. I'm just glad everything ended up alright in the end, after Finn & Jake Are Together Again.
I've always loved HW's design ever since her first appearance, I've been head over heels and wanted more of her, didn't matter in what context but I just wanted to see more. I was shocked and overjoyed to see her comeback later on.
I thought Finn and HW's relationship was cute and healthy. They met each other at the right time in their lives. And afterward they're totally cool, and residual feelings are matter-of-fact, not emotionally distorted. Like exes who can be respectful to each other. I didn't really think about it beyond that. I've never understood shipping culture. I get that people write fanfics, but the idea of "the creator was wrong" doesn't feel like it applies to this show. They took their time and explored relationships, both healthy and toxic, intentionally. And I found that beautiful. "Who should Finn end up with?" just feels like it's completely missing the point. The show clearly did not care about that.
Could probably be compared to a sort of Batman & Catwoman dynamic. They're definitely together but they both kind of do their own thing for long periods of time. They never yearn for each other but the love never dies down with distance or time.
One thing I appreciated was that Finn took this relationship slow. And he always made certain Huntress Wizard was okay with where they were at. HW said they were dating and she made Finn kiss her. They even had moments together that wasn't about their relationship.
Even though i was just as shocked as Jake when Huntress Wizard kissed Finn, i was actually not surprised that there relationship didn't go any further or if it did then i don't remember.
My favorite part of Finn's arc is after this at the end where he seemingly just ends up this grown dude living in a van. He's had years of experiences, many past romances and now he's in the twilight just chillin. He's got a sick chest tat and he's doing his thing teaching his niece how to be an adventurer. I could easily see another series of him traveling around with Bronwin teaching her the ropes and just periodically HW and their paths will cross. Finn and HW spend sometime together till they both go off on separate adventures. To me it all reminds me of Grandpa Max from Ben 10 and that episode where you find out he's got a past alien love. They cross paths, relive some of that love and the grandkids find out a bit about their Grandpa. Idk, that's just the feeling I've always gotten from this particular ship and Finn's arc as a whole.
9:58 they did a good job capturing the feeling of wanting a relationship with this totally compatible and cool person who doesnt want a relationship with that line "we both know youre totally in love with me." Really makes her that much cooler by showing her emotional awareness/maturity
Finn X Huntress Wizard is the perfect ship to leave us with since if you want to headcanon it as the final relationship it's cute and works and if you want to ship something else Huntress Wizard and Finn can just decide not to and still have a pretty similar dynamic with no extra trauma.
it's pretty obvious Finn ended up with HW, two years went by and they were still in love with eachother, which is very cute and the fact that it was never shown explicitly is even better, as it let the team focus on the actual biggest ship of the show you know, the one being built up for half a decade?
With Fionna and Cake out now and seeing FarmWorld Finn, my head-canon is Huntress from both the main Ooo and FarmWorld are together and eventually have kids together (and no one will convince me otherwise)
As someone who jump in and out of Adventure Time, my feeling is that Finn is the type of character who may think he wants to settle down and have a family but if he had a family, they could have hold him back and thus he would resent them or even abandon them for adventures. I think back to the pillow family in which he lives his life in the pillows and even though he enjoyed his existence there was something always holding him back and thus when he died and became young again it almost a sense of relief to Finn in that he was given a second chance whether the experience was real or dream. So the fact that the ending and specials show Finn alone is more meaningful in that yes Finn can form and have relationships whether platonic or romantic but they don't define him.
tbf in that pillow world he left his old life for his new family when he could have gone backean which i think means he does preferred them over anything he had up until that point in his life.
Something I liked between them was the episode "Cool Grandpa" when Jake steals Finn and takes him to the skate park to impress his grand daughter, Jake tells Finn to play his flute and when he did we see Huntress Wizard pop out from the trees to watch him. It was a subtle second but I thought it was really cute to show the connection they have with each other.
*Even Artemis fell in love with one man.* He dies in the original myth, but Artemis fell for him all the same. Seems Finn fills that role. Besides this, she isn't just showing basic affection for him.
@@br9760 Yeah, but not marriage. IIRC, Artemis is also all up about chastity. So basically Huntress, if a direct stand in for Artemis, the two wouldn't get married or have kids. I would have loved to see the two have a daughter together, named Fern. But that seems to be a pipe dream.
I mean, chastity is no issue. All it would take is to ask mom to make herself a granbaby by artificial womb or seek something to wish a baby into existence that truly is theirs. I mean, it's not impossible as Finn has done it before with Sweet Pea.
This was the ship that I actually liked and wanted more of. Finn X PB wasn't meant to be and SmokeyBear was a cute puppy love turned into a weird drama. This ship had a more emotionally mature Finn and a girl that's more attainable for him. I like their interactions but I do wish we had a more concrete answer as to what happened to them in the finale or in Distant lands. Their relationship feels similar to Batman x Catwoman where the two love each other but aren't fully ready to commit to a full on relationship.
i would like to say coming back to this vid a year later that it is HEAVILY implied that they got together, as fiona has spent time with hunter (human counterpart to huntress wizard), farmworld finn has children, some of which have traits similar to hunter (red hair, tanner skin, green eyes) its not a confirmation but it's enough to infer
As a kid who grew up watching Adventure Time, the way they handled Finn x Huntress Wizard was the last step I needed to finish my romantic growth. It was a real eye opener, and they 100% ended up together.
You know, I never got into any community and never went with the "shipping" thing, but this is the only show and scenario where I actually support my own head cannon of these two being together.
After everything Finn went through and the large ship drought after the FxFP breakup, I thought it was over for Finn and his romantic endeavors. But when I got to see Finn putting meeting up with a woman who had a great dynamic with him, putting his developed mature perspective/attitude into action, it was a wonder to behold. He didn’t spazz out and went crazy for Huntress Wizard, he took it slow and controlled himself, something that he lacked with his previous relationships. He was quite pushy with Princess Bubblegum and his lack of control led to his breakup with FP. Even when he was kind-of-rejected by HW, he took it completely well and it REALLY highlighted his character development after everything he’s went through. After watching the “Foreshadowing of Finn’s love life in ‘crossover’ (adventure time)” by Uncivilized Elk, it only enhanced the beauty of the ship for me. It wasn’t just that it gave us an outstanding introduction to an amazing character in just one episode who just happened to be a great match for Finn dynamically and romantically but it was also the culmination of Finn’s character arc, from an immature boy hero whose love life was an out-of-control dumpster fire to a young man who has grown up and knows the importance of love, loss, and controlling oneself. As for the ship itself, it was cavity-inducing but not so much that you would cringe or shy away from. It held the mystery of the will-they-won’t-they as the show never confirmed anything, and that kept me hooked after watching everything Finn went through. The best part was that I didn’t think Finn would even like HW romantically after all his trauma but the writers had done some great teasing and foreshadowing before their feelings were confirmed. They could’ve ended up as best friends and I would not have minded one bit but romance worked well. Finn and Huntress shared a passion for adventure and fighting, they are both awkward and dorky in their own quirky ways, they were able to help each other overcome their adversities(Huntress with her master and Finn with Fern). It’s completely understandable that the two could fall in love and with only two episodes to cement their sort-of-relationship, the writers did very well. All in all, I will cross my fingers for the day that the writers confirm that they end up together if it ever comes.
I admired them the most because it seemed the most functional, with the others there was always an imbalance which unfortunately is how it tends to be in reality
It makes me so happy that even deep into Finn's adult life, him and Huntress Wizard still maintain a relationship, as revealed in Episode 2 of Fionna and Cake. Clearly they still both live their own lives, but with any healthy relationship, make time for each other. While it's never officially stated, I think it's pretty obvious that HW is who Finn ends up with, and that makes me happy, seeing as I grew up alongside Finn, being the same age and going through a lot of the same trauma.
Now that the Fiona and Cake show released, it hints the adult Finn still spends time with Huntress Wizard, doesn’t necessarily confirm their still dating but it does imply it
I think she went her separate ways with Finn. Neither she nor Finn seem like the type who want to be tied down in a relationship. I also never really got the sense that Finn really loved her, seemed more like a temporary fling. In any case, Finn is better off without romance as it has only led to heartbreak for him.
remember that episode where finn entered the pillow world and grew old with a family and at one time was choose that family over his previous life? Mature Finn is defiently up for a healty, long term relationship which HW can quite likely provide. Or at least thats how i see it
@@allorfh2495 Sadly, that world got erased. It kinda ends up being a weird dream Finn forgot after he woke up. But it's not different from his past lives except that one he can't remember.
I think it's a show about coming of age and keeping your love for yourself and others pure and trying to understand others, fins early season experiences were much less mature but fond great up with us all and learned to deal with real life no matter how crazy it can be sometimes.
Ships aside, I gotta hear your thoughts on PB as a character, like, when I was young she was my favorite but as rewatched the whole series a few months ago, she was very...... not as morally good as I remembered, in fact she’s kind of my least favorite now, but boy do I have to hear more about her character progression!
PB is and has been one of the most powerful people in the world, for a very long time. Really the only people who could remind her what morality is are: Marceline, who's just too messed up with her own baggage to set a reliable example, and Finn, who she rightly sees as a little boy who doesn't truly understand her problems or their scope. Also, she got her political power by filling a power vacuum she accidentally created. She wasn't and _still_ isn't mentally prepared for leadership, even if she's gotten kind of good/practiced at it. Yeah, her moral compass has definitely drifted. Just a _little_ ;P I'm glad that she makes some real relationships over the course of the show and confronts some of her messed up past. There's potential for her to get/be better.
I hope their still together they seem perfect for each other. But so far it seems like they are. Huntress wizard didn't get enough screen time which sucks
As a kid he loved candy but you can't be in a relationship with candy sense no matter how much you like it it's incapable of liking you back When he got older he fell in love with spice sense it was fun despite hurting but eventually it wasn't enough for him He struggled a little after this As he got even older Eventually he found fell in love with plants sense they matched his lifestyle and it's good for him sure it's not candy or spicy but it's healthy and he's happy with it
Oh my lord, I never knew about their relationship and interactions; I fall into the category of fan you refer to who watched up until around the time Finn and Flame Princess broke up - when the show got abstract and existential... that is when it started to lose me. I can appreciate what they were doing now, but it was hard for me to keep watching at the time; I tuned in once in a while for episodes that felt major to me, like the Elemental stuff or discovery of humans... and I even saw the beginning of the flute episode, yet I must have never seen it through the end, seeing as I had no memory of their kiss lol I'm with you in appreciating their relationship, from the perspective of being two unique people who wished to get to know each other... whether it went all the way or not, they are some endearing interactions; I'm glad this was brought to my attention
Really wish we Explore Huntress Wizard much more than we did. She seems relatively Normal. She doesn’t seem to be Immortal like PB and she doesn’t seem to have a Body that causes Physical harm if you try to get close to her unlike FP. And she Not a Princess so no Pesky Royal Duties. Really thought they was the End Ship but I guess Maybe Finn Niece Bronwyn is? Pretty messed up Finn but I guess your not Related.
I grew up with this show. Like, it first came out when I was in grade school and now I'm graduated from college. Insane. I'm so glad I got to grow up with Finn. And with each new relationship or love interest he got, I was like, "Oh, I like this one best now! I hope this one lasts!" I loved all of them. I really felt for the guy and basically wanted what he wanted. I'm a little sad that it feels like we didn't get closure, but at the same time, it feels beautiful and true to life.
I wish the show would have lasted 2 more seasons so they've had the space to develop their relationship( well, and everything else in the series). Wheter they ended up together or not I'm sure any episodes with her would have been fun.
Adventure Time is such a wonderful and Nostalgic show for me, I can't help but reply every little bit of it in my head over and over again. I will always love this show and the way Finn progressed and evolved as did the show itself.
I think part of the reason we 'couldn't' get a direct answer of who Finn ends up with is simply that Finn as the main character and hero, kinda couldn't be allowed to have any kids. Just in the context that any kids of Finns would get ALL the attention FOREVER, every fan of the show would be expecting umpteen spinoffs centered around each of them and would feel cheated if each didn't go off to do something super awesome. ^^; Jake could have kids since he's a lovable goofball and kinda purposefully avoids doing something 'to major', that is he isn't ever looking to the future and specifically wanting to leave some huge mark on history. Which makes it okay when just from him having kids he does leave one since eventually his descendants sorta rule Ooo in the future. ;3
ngl i never cared for this ship the way other people do/did. like at all. I kind of just saw it as something like the first mature relationship finn would have, but in this case mature doesnt mean serious. This is kind of like the representation that Finn can finally have a relationship where he isnt so obsessed that it distracts him from important things. It felt like to me, it was supposed to be something not meant to really last, but to show that Finn is a mature enough guy that he can have sokething like this with someone and it wouldnt be something that drives him to do crazy things or to feel/act a certain way. Im more than happy to see it as something like this. nothing more, nothing less.
with the ending of fionna and cake where fionna is with hunter not dating but hanging out and farmworld finn having a son that has brown hair and green eyes, i do not doubt that huntress wizard is the final
Watching this really was like reliving the emotional rollercoaster of watching the series in real time in 13 minutes, love it And yeah, god bless the fan arts
There is one scene between them in book 6 of the season 11 comic where she drop by giving Finn sagely advice about finding a new home. Too bad book 7-12 is canceled, so we didn't see her more. Finn: I guess I'm not the same kid that used to live in that treehouse huh. HW: You're much taller for starters. Home isn't a place you can lose. HW: Home is where all the feeling you have let out in the world ... come back to you. HW: Don't worry about the where of home. Home will be where LOVE and TRUST is. Finn (teasing): "LOVE" huh? HW: Love comes in many way my good Finn. Don't go putting word in my mouth. HW: Anyway. Don't worry about home Finn. Let home find you. Then she fly away like Mary Poppins.
This ship was a well thought out ship. Finn grew from his mistakes and became a Man of his Word when he apologized to Flame Princess after he rediscovered Himself in The Hall of Egress. A Natural way to end Finn’s Relationship and a way to show that he’s not a kid anymore. He’s all Grown Up🙂
Finn and HW was exactly what I wanted! They literally are on the same vibe the entire time, and it's so sweet how much they care for her. (Also, I love her soft raspy voice) (they totally were friends with benefits)
I also feel like the reason Huntress wizard is apprehensive about getting into a relationship is because of the nature of AT’s magic. All magic users derive their powers from their madness and sadness. Huntress Wizard is, as far as we know, pretty sane and collected, which tells us that her magic abilities likely come from her sadness and isolation. So what will happen to her powers when the sadness isn’t there anymore?
I definitely wish Finn had actually GOTTEN with Huntress Wizard because I legit do think they were a solid ship to end the show on. Flame Princess was always one I would've preferred but I can fully understand why that didn't happen. Either way I also can say I'm not MAD that nothing happened, I mean hell they leave it so open that you COULD just assume they got together. It's not perfect but it's enough for me.
I'm about watching this video and I just want to say thank you sarcastic I found your channel last month and your videos keep on bringing a smile to my face, thanks for that 🌟🌟🌟
I kinda like how adventure time had multiple relationships that ended, showing that no you don't just find a random person and fall in love with them for the rest of ur life and that ppl irl actually go through alot of breakups before the find "true love"
There were some possible hints in the Fionna & Cake series, but at this point I'm just going to accept them in a romantic relationship without the need for the Creators to actually confirm it.
I watched this show when i was a kid. I stopped when i stopped watching all cartoons. I watched this video i guess out of curiosity more than nostalgia, lifes been good but im not really nostalgic for anything anymore. I used to think this show was emotionally stunted but I guess it really was just that i grew apart from it while other people grew up with the show. Ive had my innocence, ive known the thrill of the kill, ive loved, ive lost, ive hurt, and ive been hurt, and through it all ive had found reason to see it all through to the end. If you can say that this show has taught you a useful life lesson, then this show has done what a story is supposed to.
I think that they totally had a huge relationship, but, it would’ve been kinda similar to lady and Jake, where they don’t get that much time on screen but are still a huge power couple
Adventure time was the perfect show for me. It literally took me through the end of adolescence, into puberty, and the beginning of early adulthood. I feel like I grew up right beside Finn.
I personally think he is in a casual relationship with huntess wizard, like lady and jake. They don't flaunt it as much like L and J but they care deeply and love each other. In the 2nd episode of fionna and cake finn mentions huntress wizard casually in convorsation with simon and I dunno the way he talked about her just sounded like, "Yeah so my girlfriend told me about this crazy forest that could kill us." I don't know I might be wrong but its nice to think that finn finally figured it out and is happy. with what ever ending
I really like how the show starts going through Finn’s weird teenage existential crisis’s and not really giving us a solid answer on what it means. I think it adds a lot to the world building but mainly I think it really shows Finn’s mindset and how he’s maturing. Bc At it’s most base this is a show about Finn and his path to adulthood and the relationships that he builds (and sometimes destroys)

SPOILER :
In Fionna and Cake episode 2, Finn mentions Huntress Wizard twice.
I'm hope they're planning another series that focuses on Huntress Wizard and Finn. Would be great.

I think huntress wizard works because she kinda is the girl most similar to Finn in terms of personality and interests/hobbies. She is a free spirit just like him that loves to go on adventures. Not someone with an important duty like being a princess of an entire kingdom or a girl with a volatile personality that Finn needs to try to understand or do the effort to make her understand him.
is that one of the reason why Finn love her?(just my thought)
I love how Finn invited her to his birthday party too, and she tries to help him by cramming an elk's heart in his mouth lol
And Fiona and Cake confirm that Finn is still with HW. She doesn't appear, but Finn mentions her as though he sees her regularly. And Fiona even started crushing on Hunter, HW's male counterpart in her world.

Whether he eventually settles down doesn't matter- it has nothing to do with the story we wanted to tell."
yeah i totally agree- I mean, aside from that tho finn wasn't even 18 by the end of the series... you can't expect a 16 year old to be ready to settle down so him being alone also makes sense from that perspective too
I took it as "Just because our involvement with them is over, doesn't mean their lives are."

I still believe in my heart Finn tapped that Huntress ass tho. My guy deserves something good
As a wise person-thing once said "Our real experiences are the ships we made along the way" ... Or something like that
While a lot of people scoff at Huntress Wizard's speech at the end of Flute Spell, I actually really liked the concept of love as "the secret of ordinary people".
But even if Huntress Wizard x Finn is not canon, Huntress Wizard will always be a great friend of Finn

So your saying Finn didn't deserve to get together with Huntress just because he wanted to stay single for the rest of his life?
The show was about him maturing, not his love life. The love life is a bonus, not a requirement
The ship were Finn actually showcase his development in regard with relationships
The best depiction of a healthy friends-with-benefits relationship in animation, in my opinion. Btw, that term isn’t exclusive to sexual activities. It can mean a very casual relationship without too much commitment.

yknow, i agree with this! these two as a ship never truly excited me (idk, just not my thing maybe? i have specific tastes in dynamics) but this is exactly how i saw them!
(You can have more than one soul mate and more than one at a time.) I love depictions of non-romantic soul mates and I don't think I've ever seen something as relatively mainstream as AT show one so explicitly
EDIT: So many people here saying Finn would never have a long term romantic relationship because he's single at 17 lmao!
@@chrisperez9854 yeah after the reveal in the small aftermath series that he kinda lost himself after jake died I would say he just died sad and alone

Which hell it's pretty much the only pairing in Adventure Time like it.

I always liked Huntress Wizard even from her first appearance in Wizard Battle. I wish they did more with her.
Amazing!...
Hard confirm in Fionna and Cake that they're still hanging out with eachother (if not just casually)
I remember seeing Huntress Wizard and how cool of a design she had. So when she started appearing more in the end I was so happy
As much as I want Huntress and Finn to get married, Huntress is basically Artemis. What she would want is just companionship with the hunt, IIRC.

This is a really good ship and I'm disappointed that we didn't see more of them together
Please talk about Ice King and Betty, or just ice King in general. He's just a tragic character and deserves all the attention he gets
Finn and Huntresswizard was a good ship tbh
I don't think romance was really important for Finn. In the end, the true eternal bond he shared was with Jake.
yeah seems like something he thought he wanted but then grew into realising it's okay not to have a relationship
@@Gxylord If Finn not being together with HW, then what's the point of them staying friends? That's you opinion.
@@snow200ful you can be friend without being lovers.
@@martyrsaint yeah that's the thing PB said before she fcked up his feelings
They both are good for each other : both of them like adventure, they're good at fighting! Everything for them is 100% made for each other
Now that the Fiona and Cake show released, it hints the adult Finn still spends time with Huntress Wizard, doesn’t necessarily confirm their still dating but it does imply it
I love it because its just how a real relationship forms, quietly and With respect.
I think she went her separate ways with Finn. Neither she nor Finn seem like the type who want to be tied down in a relationship. I also never really got the sense that Finn really loved her, seemed more like a temporary fling. In any case, Finn is better off without romance as it has only led to heartbreak for him.
Because he just wasn't compatible with the people he was in relationships with before. You can have a relationship without really being tied down
remember that episode where finn entered the pillow world and grew old with a family and at one time was choose that family over his previous life? Mature Finn is defiently up for a healty, long term relationship which HW can quite likely provide. Or at least thats how i see it
How many times can I say this? Finn and HW, deserve each other. That's your opinion.
@@allorfh2495 Sadly, that world got erased. It kinda ends up being a weird dream Finn forgot after he woke up. But it's not different from his past lives except that one he can't remember.
besides this adorable ship, I just wanted to see more of Huntress Wizard in general, her powers are really cool and I wanna see so much more of her
I think it's a show about coming of age and keeping your love for yourself and others pure and trying to understand others, fins early season experiences were much less mature but fond great up with us all and learned to deal with real life no matter how crazy it can be sometimes.
Who's here after episode 2 of Fionna and Cake, when Finn mentions several times hanging out and spending time with Huntress Wizard?
✋️✋️✋️✋️✋️
Are you still here after episode 5
@@moon7shinev150 oh I LIVE here right now
Ships aside, I gotta hear your thoughts on PB as a character, like, when I was young she was my favorite but as rewatched the whole series a few months ago, she was very...... not as morally good as I remembered, in fact she’s kind of my least favorite now, but boy do I have to hear more about her character progression!
Marceline is best girl
@@kittykittybangbang9367 bubble
PB is a manipulative toxic person honestly.
Just a _little_ ;P
I'm glad that she makes some real relationships over the course of the show and confronts some of her messed up past. There's potential for her to get/be better.
Frankly her being kind of evil is the reason I like her, just makes her much more fun to watch
I hope their still together they seem perfect for each other. But so far it seems like they are. Huntress wizard didn't get enough screen time which sucks
I just wished we could see their relationship blossom out more, I don’t think there was enough screen time for this ship.
10:40 And then Fionna & Cake 'HARD' implied they're still together in episode 2
So there's that
Episode 10, amirite? Even in an alternate, gender-swapped universe, they still end up together.

As a kid he loved candy but you can't be in a relationship with candy sense no matter how much you like it it's incapable of liking you back
When he got older he fell in love with spice sense it was fun despite hurting but eventually it wasn't enough for him
He struggled a little after this
As he got even older Eventually he found fell in love with plants sense they matched his lifestyle and it's good for him sure it's not candy or spicy but it's healthy and he's happy with it
It still feels like there's more to adventure time that we didn't get to see yet
Oh my lord, I never knew about their relationship and interactions; I fall into the category of fan you refer to who watched up until around the time Finn and Flame Princess broke up - when the show got abstract and existential... that is when it started to lose me. I can appreciate what they were doing now, but it was hard for me to keep watching at the time; I tuned in once in a while for episodes that felt major to me, like the Elemental stuff or discovery of humans... and I even saw the beginning of the flute episode, yet I must have never seen it through the end, seeing as I had no memory of their kiss lol
I'm with you in appreciating their relationship, from the perspective of being two unique people who wished to get to know each other... whether it went all the way or not, they are some endearing interactions; I'm glad this was brought to my attention
Well here we are- and it seems Finn X HW is a multiversal constant from what we’ve seen in Fionna and Cake
Happy the new fionna and cake sorted this out. LFG Finn and HW
I loved it because they didn't have any drama like with PB or FP. They like each other and they both enjoy being out in the world and adventuring.
Huntress Wizard is an adventurer like Finn, so they fit together perfectly. I just wish more was done with them.
Because of Muto, nope. 😞😑
Agreed, I loved this development. Always wanted more of her from her first background appearance, too. Real cute pair.
I think part of the reason we 'couldn't' get a direct answer of who Finn ends up with is simply that Finn as the main character and hero, kinda couldn't be allowed to have any kids. Just in the context that any kids of Finns would get ALL the attention FOREVER, every fan of the show would be expecting umpteen spinoffs centered around each of them and would feel cheated if each didn't go off to do something super awesome. ^^;
Jake could have kids since he's a lovable goofball and kinda purposefully avoids doing something 'to major', that is he isn't ever looking to the future and specifically wanting to leave some huge mark on history.
Fionna and Cake did wonders for the multiversal fate of Finn and Huntress.
with the ending of fionna and cake where fionna is with hunter not dating but hanging out
and farmworld finn having a son that has brown hair and green eyes, i do not doubt that huntress wizard is the final
Watching this really was like reliving the emotional rollercoaster of watching the series in real time in 13 minutes, love it
And yeah, god bless the fan arts
I really wish they mentioned her in distant lands, but she's still arguably the coolest background Character
