Very good video Rob, you have a way of getting to the point and making concepts simple for the layman to understand. More videos please.

    Hey Jeff,
Thanks. I try to keep it simple where anyone can understand what I'm talking about. The Minelab Instructional Manuals at times can be a bit confusing to someone that has never used a Pulse Induction metal detector before.

Hello, I haven't personally used the AT Pro, but I'm sure it can find gold within a certain range. There are two major technologies of metal detectors today, the VLF and PI's. The VLF's are less immune to mineralization, have less accessories and have depth limitations vs. the PI's. That being said, the most import part is knowing where to go. Wishing you much success out there!

    Nuggethunting,
Love the vids, I really want to get more into prospecting and general metal detecting with my son.
We have done some basic looking around Asheboro, NC. ,but have only found some specks.
    I don't have 5k to dump into a finder, ...
....how do you feel about the Garrett AT Pro?
...thanks for any advice in advance.

I just received my GPX5000 and got it assembled. It is a new unit and the AC outlet plug was I guess European style. I can get an adaptor for that, but my car charging plug did not work on the battery. At least the lights did not go on on the battery pack. I connected the battery up to the detector and it showed a full charge and my unit was working. Do you know if it is a common for new out of the box units to have these problems?

    Hey Hartcore11,
Did you purchase the GPX 5000 here in the US. You should have received the AC Wall charger that is an International version, which comes with like 5 adapters to use pretty much anywhere in the World. When you plug in the 12v car charger, you should see the light turn on the battery. It will go from a orange/red to green when charged. This is not a common problem, but can happen from time to time.
