Dude, your explanation is sooooooo easy to comprehend for newbies like me. Even though I just started on MLB The Show 24, your 3-year-old video still carries the wisdom and the knowledge I need so I can start on Franchise mode. Thank you so so much, you earned a subscribe right there, brother
thank you for making this video. I just started a the show 22 franchise and I was getting annoyed by the whole 40 man roster thing. I figured trading or just removing guys from the 40 man was my best play, but not fully. this helps me better understand it.
Been pretty much binge watching your MLB the show content today. Clear, concise, useful, and very informative. at 14.2k subs, you are criminally underrated. Much thanks.
Good video. Personally I wouldn't go editing player's positions. My house rules are don't do anything the AI teams can't do and offer fair trades (because the AI will accept almost anything). I'm in my third season at 650 hours of gameplay and the stability of the league has really held together. Best sports franchise I've ever played.
Can you make a video on training? Specifically looking for tips on how to judge how long to train in a particular area. I occasionally sim, but try to play many of my games, if that makes a difference
How do I prevent the CPU from screwing up my roster when going into the post season? I have everything set to manual, but the CPU still makes a ton of moves.
I do a mix of playing and simulating. With my franchise this year it’s going to be a lot of simulation for year 1, where we aren’t trying to be competitive, sell off the team; and then we will play a lot once we have the prospects up and we’re trying to develop them
I’m just messing around with the game a made a 99 created player but he’s only getting like 1 AB per game. I Only play a few games manually, wondering if you knew a fix for that glitch?
Hey thanks mate! great video... can I ask you a question since I can't find any info online? should I keep all the minors on the 40 man at the MLB level during spring training? I've also been reading if you don't sort this out before the regular season begins your rosters get scrambled by the CPU?
You want to send players down right before you finish spring training! If you don’t, the CPU will make those decisions for you. Your full 40 man roster will get called up to the majors at the beginning of spring training no matter what, and they’ll keep bringing players back up if you send them down. Just wait til the end of spring training to send players back down
I might just be stupid but how can I get more players for the farm system? I don’t have enough players in the organization to fill triple a double a and single a
Hope this will be helpful. I'm a new player, and I'll start a franchise, and I have zero roster depth. One or two, sometimes three players, at each position, and *all* the rest are pitchers, and since user-friendly is one attribute this game does not possess in the slightest, I have no idea how to call up players from the minors, much less release players from their contracts so I can sign free agents.
Great video. I approach the depth chart and roster in a similar manner. Possibly a dumb question, but like a lot of people this year, I'm new to MLB The Show and while I've looked everywhere I can think of, in terms of in-game menus, etc., I just wanted to make sure I have this right: There doesn't appear to be a menu/option to set your non-MLB rotation and lineups. Is that correct? I would think a game like The Show would make that available, but if they did, I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Would like to set those myself. Thanks for the content. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Go to your mlb rotation/lineup and then move the right stick either left or right and it’ll take you to your minor league rotations/lineups. Hit it again to go the next level: ie one click right gets you to AAA, another click gets you to AA
I've had this burning question in franchise that I can't find the answer to (maybe it's best that I don't). Do players/psospects develop differently depending on which level of the organization they're in? For example do players develop 1.2x as fast at the MLB, 1.1x at AAA, 1.0x at AA, 0.5x at A? I like a lot of things to happen organically in my franchises sometimes rather than Min/Max everything, but I've always been curious about this.
My understanding is that they develop at similar rates, but it is primarily dependent on playing time and performance. When you try to stick a significantly lower overall into AAA, the simulation seems to take that into account and they play poorly often times. I may run an experiment to see if they do develop at different rates though
@@JacobReid Yeah I was always curious what the discrepancy was, if any. Like for example, if a backup AA 2B developed slightly quicker than putting him in A.
i always run out of money by the end of year two, how can i fix this? i watched your other video about renewing contracts and arbitration and all that but i always run out of cash
i have a different question i make trades or bring up players or send players from the minors it stays for a day and then reverts back to old roster 2021 also i select meter pitching and when i play a game it works if i say manage it does not any clues? not a disk was down loaded from playstation

@@triplethraet theres this youtuber that was able to utilized his customized jerseys and new stadium before the start of the 2021 season. I know he didnt do it in-between season... unless I'm mistaken
@@davidchen7703 I am honestly not too sure the specifics of the rebranding stuff. I play on xbox one so I dont even have the most optimized version of the game (compared to like the PS5 and XBX which have stadium creator, current gen doesnt). I play mlb the show 21 on ps5. Worst case scenario I'll just play out the 1st season and rebrand/create new stadium during off season. Thank you for your input! Appreciate the help.
@@triplethraet I just figured it out. Lol While scrolling through the list of teams when you start a NEW franchise, hit R1(ps) or RB (xbox). This will allow you to customize(rebrand) your team and relocate them along with changing stadiums.
This game has gone so far downhill. You have literally no control over how YOU want to play, you know the person that actually buys the game!!. Getting rid of season was stupid. You have no say so over anything in Franchise. It’s not even fun. Even on manual they just call up and move my players around whenever they want. It’s bullshit. I’m not running an MLB team it’s a video game! We want to mess around with teams and leagues and do what we want with our roster. Get it together. This is the worst one yet!!!

This was a big help for me. Easy to understand you too.
When you move players, don’t forget to adjust your lineups. If I let the CPU do it, the player I just moved is usually moved back.
How do I prevent the CPU from screwing up my roster when going into the post season? I have everything set to manual, but the CPU still makes a ton of moves.

sign free agents! :)
Can you do a video on contracts like when to front load, back load and when to just leave it normal?
Rule of thumb is easy. If you have a lot of money to burn on your current year front load it. If you need to save money then back load it.
