    Fyi, glue gun glue is really easy to remove with an alcohol soaked paper towel. Voultar showed it on his channel (fixing poorly done ebay console mods), and it blew me away when I tried it myself and it actually worked.

    I have a monitor with that same control board, I actually bought the board to drive a repurposed laptop screen, they sell for cheap on ebay, and you didn't even needed any PC speaker, they can drive 3w 4ohm speakers without a problem, and it can get loud with decent speakers.

    Beautiful work. Good point about the tools, and I think most of this could even be done with _mostly_ hand tools if one had the time an inclination. (I'm old enough to remember what it was like to use one of those big ol' hand drills.) Thanks for another great project.
    Also nice to see another Logitech K750 user. (Not happy with their "recycling" policy, but nothing beats the light yet satisfying feel for typing at a decent speed.)

    Regarding the hot glue, for a less destruction method soak a cotton pad in isopropyl alcohol. Apply the alcohol to the hot glue for a couple seconds and it will lose its adhesive properties and pull right off.

    On a side note maybe it would be good to make a video of making just arcade joystick with the raspberry pie with connection to TV by HDMI cable. That way the whole "console" gets even smaller. You could make also version where the second player connect to the first player joystick.
    And for the joystick layout it would be nice to create a plans where the joystick is on the right side and buttons on the left (some people prefers to use right hand for the joystick). :)

    Any chance you'd be willing to design and build a smaller desktop arcade? Something with a 10.1" or 7" screen, using a thinner (6mm) wood or plastic/plexiglass? Also, I've enjoyed your videos and have embarked on making my own, but living in an apartment with limited tools, Dremel and accessories, it's a bit of a go.....

    I built this cabinet and looks great but the monitor has such a bad view angle that you can't play it unless you are right on top of it. :( I have a different monitor to try and will let you know if it is better if you want.

    • @jacquesparent43
      @jacquesparent43 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheGeekPub Hey. Switched the monitor for an Acer AL1715, same thing. I think the issue is that the monitors I have are LCD. I looked at an LED monitor and the angle is much better but it's 24 inches so I can't put it in the 17" opening ;) . Looks like the monitors will used in the PacCade instead. If I find an LED I'll let you know if it's better.
