Thank you for sharing you're experience with finding the problem on such engines. When I was trying to get my M110 D-jetronic working in my W116 there was quite the research needed to discover and solve the problems but eventually is was all pretty good worth it!
At 20:14 Visible smoke coming out of the exhaust is not a good sign. The color of the smoke is not clear, but if it is blue, the engine is burning oil, and if it is black, it is a sign of incomplete combustion of gasoline.
It might be a bit difficult to tell the isolated effect of changing one component in this "multiple component change" fix. In your opinion would you say that the MPS seemed to be the root cause of your problems, after all?
After a year you will have this fixed by now but I cannot see where you said the year. If this C107 was 1975 to 1978 then I think it has the K-Jetronic which is a single jet continuous squirt. The D-Jetronic was multi injector EFi fitted to the VW 2.0L four sold to Porsche 924. I believe the 1976 Volvo 164E also had the multi-point D-jetronic
The cylinder and distributor cap order that you show would that be the same order in a 73 Mercedes 280SEL ? I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know ?
Fantastic video, very clear and informative. Really enjoyed it and have seen all your touching Mercedes as I have a -75 model R107 450 SL. I live in Sweden and wonder if you have any tips on a good place to shop / order parts? I've looked around online but haven't found anything really good. Keep up your videos, looking forward to the next one.
Well, maybe I would too unless I was afraid to crank the engine, like in this case. The first stalling was quite dramatic and then the problems reappeared and were intermittent, so the fault tracing wasn't too easy. //Greetings Peter

Yes it definitely was! 😀
Welcome back peter.
Is it normal that the resistors feels too hot after a long drive ?
Thanks Ibrahim 👍. I'm not really sure how warm they normally should be, but I know they sometimes can be pretty hot //Peter
Great car 👌

My 450 SLC is from 1975 and has D-Jetronic 👍😀👌

Hi and thanks for watching! No you have a completely different engine in the -73 280. The firing order in your car should be 1-5-3-6-2-4 👍👌😀
Thank you
