Thank you for this Alena! I am just getting familiar with my Polychromos pencils, and I found your color combos very helpful. I agree with you that Polychromos has the best pinks and greens. The more I use my Polychromos, the more I love them.
Thank you for sharing, Alena. I don't have the full 120 set, because I prefer building my own favourite collection. Early on (when I started my "adult colouring" journey over 4 years ago) I found the Polychromos very accommodating--they complement well with other brands, wax or oil alike. I am pleased that most of my favourites are yours too: cream, light flesh, green gold, and Payne's grey, not to mention the whole green collection! Also, Prismacolor's opaqueness is what makes them so blendable while Polychromos' translucency allows colourists to layer as much as the paper can take. Finally, I noticed that you have left the barcode stickers on the pencils. May I suggest you peel them off because they might ruin the blades in your sharpeners, unless you use a helix which I think should be fine after sharpening a graphite pencil.

I think that I still prefer my Prismas a little bit more than Polys, but only because their softness suit my preferred method of quick coloring in max 2 layers, and because their remind me about oil pastel. But both brands are great and using them both indeed gives immense possibilities in coloring

Dear Alena, I have been following you for quite a while and just stumbled on this video. My daughter gave me a full set of Polychromos for my birthday and I still struggle a bit with them, Your video is helping me a lot, I use my Prisma on top of Poly.. sometimes, and I feels weird to do so. I am glad to see that you do it. I hope you are safe I am thinking of you all the time especially when I hear some bad actions from the orcs! It's a wonderful gift, I'm so happy for you! I'm sure you will enjoy them. For me they required some time to get used, but in several books and for some pictures like portraits now they are my absolute choice #1 even if I still love my Prismacolors

Blending will be way more challenging I think, but I do like that they don't need to be sharpened constantly (but I do still love my Prismas). I can already tell that I will love the greens, especially Chrome Oxide Green. Dark Indigo is another color that you suggested, that I can see will be used a lot. May green is my top 5 so far I think. Looking forward to all your amazing videos. I think, now that I'm not getting open stock, I will gift myself Neocolors or an assortment of Albrecht Durer.

By accident, I discovered that Polychromos pencil are the exact color of watercolor paints. If I am wondering what name is of an unknown paint color I just use my Polychromos and find the match. Also, the names of the Polychromos pencils are the same as the watercolor name.

Thank you so much! When I got my Polychromoses I struggled with depth also, but then I discovered this great tip of doing basic layer of shading with greys and I started to get much better contrasts.
