Wonderful to see this immaculate C7 back to A1. Took me back to unboxing my first machine. I love that your videos are always warts & all, plus you leave the screen comments on long enough to read (unlike some channels). The contact surface on relays, like the one you replaced, which is not hermetically sealed are liable to accumulating a layer of insulating surface contamination over time. Operating the relay on a regular basis, like under normal operation of the machine, would help to keep the contacts clean.
Good call. I'll stick with Star components as the rubber is excellent and seems to stand up well to heavy use and age too although the oldest deck with their belts is only 4 years hence! Plus you get the idler tyres and they're the right size but will definitely check out Malvern Audi - thanks for the info.

It started out as a way of seeing what I'd repaired and how and has become something that's saving so many machines and keeping them all going ( and maybe fueling dodgy reconditioned machines being sold on eBay!)
@MrBetaByte I was considering buying one off ebay but thought it would be faulty and not work properly. I managed to buy one off Facebook that actually works fine 😃

Malvern hills Audi o on eBay has a belt kit listed for these I need to make a start on mine .I did get the remote from eBay a while back .
