I would love to see Marvel continue the old "Sgt. Fury and the Howling Commandos" reprints, either in Masterworks or Epic form. Wahoooo!

Knowing you, I can't believe you didn't include Buscema's Tarzan run, or even the John Carter W.O.Mars series in your Epics line-up. More so, what about the Marvel westerns? Two-gun kid anyone?

Of course I would love to see Tarzan and John Carter but I doubt Marvel will get the rights to those characters anytime soon.

I would add a few others as well: Nick Fury, Werewolf by Night, The Nam, Darkhawk, New Warriors/Night Thrasher, Silver Sable, War Machine.

When I saw the title of this video pop up this morning, I was gonna jump all over you for not including Deathlok. So I started watching, all ready to start yelling "Deathlok! What about Deathlok?" But to my utter surprise, you DID include Deathlok! Thank you! I've always felt Deathlok was Marvel's best crappy character. I'm sure Steve will concur.

If they’re printing MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE with FANTASTIC FOUR, they can definitely print MARVEL TEAM-UP along with AMAZING SPIDER-MAN.
I don’t care for INDIANA JONES OR MICRONAUTS, but they should print:
    NEW WARRIORS
    DAZZLER
    CLOAK & DAGGER
    CABLE

They could collect Peter David's Hulk run in this format since the omnibuses and visionaries trades have gone out of print.

I’ve ordered the Micronauts and Rom omnis. Epic Collection format would have been fine but I’ll take what I can get (because they aren’t going to hold the licenses for long).

I had no idea Marvel even made Indiana Jones comics. Where's my Epic Collection Marvel? I agree it is strange that Team Up and Spec Spider-Man don't have collections already.

There's two series that I add to your list: The New Warriors and Darkhawk.

  • @AndrewBuckleBookReviews
    @AndrewBuckleBookReviews 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Some of them have at least had the omni treatment such as Captain Marvel and Warlock and Nova etc as well as a complete for some but I agree, some odd missing ones and Marvel Team Up is definitely top of the list for why is this still missing as it has not been reprinted in any colour format as far as I am aware but many of the stories have been reprinted in many different collections but as part of other character's storylines, so clearly they could release them all together. At least we have the Essentials.
I would love to see an epic of Millie the Model, Patsy Walker, Women's Collection (The Cat, Night Nurse, Shanna, Linda Carter, Kathy etc), Monsters (Frankenstein, etc) Movies (Logan's Run etc but I guess licensing is always going to be an issue), Westerns (Kid Colt, Rawhide etc) as well as a Captain Savage (had to buy the 1-19 to get that set) and perhaps a rarities one to collect Dr Doom, Tales Of the Watcher, Pussycat, Pete The Pest etc. I suspect we will never see many of those in omni or epic or complete.
Poor old Ka-zar, he has a feeble omni collection and yet his best material from Astonishing is not easy to find, spread over a few volumes and also the subsequent Ka-Zar are available here and there via Mockingbird volumes. Would love to see a proper Ka-zar omni or epic collection set with the X-men / Daredevil / Spidey / Astonishing / Ka-zar set finally in place.
Also, no Nick Fury / Shield ?? though available in omni like Warlock etc

  • @charliedogg7683

This is an excellent topic for a video Michael.
Marvel Team-Up and Two-In-One were also used to keep copyright on those obscure hero and villain characters that no-one knew what to do with. As long as the character appeared once a year it remained Marvel property. Hence Two-In-One #16 with the Scarecrow for example (now called the Straw Man to avoid ownership clashes with DC's Batman villain).
Deathlok has been at the top of my list for an Essentials volume and now an Epic Collection for years. It's some of Rich Buckler's best work, excellent dystopian SF, and there are enough stories to warrant one volume, possibly two.
    Yes for Ka-Zar too.
I've recently completed my Byrne Alpha Flight collection and it's still a really fun read.
Nova's powers and abilities were somewhat reminiscent of Green Lantern but Marvel was aiming to recreate the teen-superhero-with-everyday-problems situation that had made Peter Parker/Spider-Man a success. I think they were only partially successful as the audience of the mid-70s was not the audience of the early 60s.

OH MY GOD!!! I have been saying this since I found Epic Collections a few years ago. I need my Spider-man collection flesh out. I demand Marvel Team-Up!
I am so glad that was your number 1 because I have been desperate for Marvel Team-Up for a while and when I saw this vid come up on my feed I was hoping Marvel Team-Up would be mentioned. And yes, why is there a Marvel Two-in-One Epic Collection and not a Marvel Team-Up Epic Collection????

    • @michaelk.vaughan8617

On a side note, what is the relationship between Epic Collection and Omnibus? Why are some in both, some in one version or the other and other comics aren't in either? When I saw the Spectacular Spider-man omnibus came out, I was expecting the Epic of that comic soon after and it still hasn't come out. Does anyone know why?

ROM, Micronauts, Indiana Jones, more Conan (at least all the Roy Thomas era).
Marvel Team Up is a must. Plus, why are they skipping the theee best comics if the early 80s? Millers DD, Simonsons Thor, Byrnes FF?
I would love all the Official Handbooks too.
Now some of the titles have been covered with the Complete Colection TPB series-Deathlok, ManThing, Howard the Duck, Nova, Nick Fury, etc. I don’t think we need those reissued since they’re all still available at reasonable prices.

    • @michaelk.vaughan8617
      @michaelk.vaughan8617  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

They lost the license to Conan so we won’t see anymore of those, unfortunately. Marvel seems to be waiting to print famous runs like Miller’s Daredevil until they run out of everything else, possibly because they have been reprinted so often before.

Have they released one of HOWARD THE DUCK, who had both a comic book and a magazine?
I'd also love to see Marvel reprint their LOGAN'S RUN comic -- 5 issues for the 1976 movie adaptation followed by 2 more issues before it was cancelled.
Then there's their 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY comic, which went off on their own Marvel tangent following their bigger-than-magazine sized adaptation of the movie. Wasn't MACHINE MAN a kind of Marvel 'sequel' to their "2001" comic . . . ?
Marvel had a lot of fringe comic series back in the day -- mostly in the '70s -- stuff like their FRANKENSTEIN and WEREWOLF BY NIGHT horror comics, which included great art by Mike Ploog, whose art for Marvel's PLANET OF THE APES became beloved by us POTA fanatics.

Very enjoyable episode, Michael, and some great choices there! Has there been a Son of Satan epic collection? They should collect The Human Fly in an Epic collection one of these days as well. Remember that one? 😄 To be honest, the Epic books are a little too expensive for me, so they're all kind of non-existent for me ... except for a couple of Conans I grabbed. Take care, and enjoy your day!

Of your list I would enjoy Alpha Flight the most if they did it without jumping around volumes. I got a omnibus but didn't pay attention to the fact it was John Byrne related so made it sound like they wouldn't be reprinting other stuff.
I would like to see some of the New Universe stuff. It was a big deal when I was a kid to get in on the ground floor.
As far as licensed stuff give me Shogun Warriors, please.
