I finally bought one in Camp Green after watching your review and other videos. Btw I bought mine at my local military exchange store for $174 and then the price dropped down to $135. I went back for price adjustment. I’m happy that I got a very good deal for my first Yeti cooler.
Really good cooler! From time to time I use it as a foot/leg rest while gaming as well lol
Love the Yeti Roadie.
Thx for the nice review.
I’m glad you found it helpful :)
Im trying to decide between the Yeti Roadie 24 or the Moosejaw 25. This review was very helpful. Thanks
I used mine for two summers now after the Marshall fire were I at my home that doesn;t have power and this keeps water cold during the 100 degree summer heat. Love mine, should of gotten it sooner .
It’s good to have coolers in different sizes. We have had cheap coolers for years but they don’t last. Mostly cold enough but I did use one last summer that did not so it’s job and a turkey sand which turned me into the hulk without the muscles or comic book contracts.
Just ordered the roadie finally after 2 years of thinking about it and skimping along on cheaper coolers. We do have a Grizzly 15 (as good/better than yeti) quart but it’s slightly too small for an outing for 2-3 ppl. We also have an Engle 35 quart and an orca 72 quart, which is an absolute beast. So the roadie fills that void and is slightly lighter with a more desirable footprint than competitor of the same size. I also like a strap handle as opposed to a bar or solid handle.
yeah, I also like that the YETI ICE works between their different sizes nicely so you don't have a bunch of different ice packs.
Like you I just wanted something that would work for a long time. this seems to up to the task!
Thanks for the review. My wife and I have been in the market for a Yeti Tundra/Roadie. I don’t think we need the Tundra 35 like we’ve been looking at. I’d rather save the few bucks and go with the Roadie. Our use of it will likely be 10 hour road-trips on average.
Glad it was helpful! Yeah my brother has the Tundra 35. while a great cooler it is big. It's also partly why I went with these 2 models instead.
My only YETI product is the 20oz mug with magnetic lid. I'm RTIC man with coolers.
Don’t understand why yeti did’t give it a drain plug. Thats the only negative I found with the cooler.
I agree I kind of thought that was odd when I first got it. I like to open the drain plug to drain water if I need to add ice to a cooler. Let’s me keep things dryer without having to dump everything out
If ur using these ice blocks instead of just ice u dont really need a drain.. and its another point of faillure anyways. also these yeti ice blocks are nice, but u can just buy a 5 pack of them for 2 dollar at the dollar store.. instead of spending 150 bucks on 4 yeti ice packs.. I own about 20 of the small/medium ice blocks, always have a couple in the freezer ready to go.. saves buying ice..
@@larsvegas1505 That's a good deal. and ICE isn't free so any kind of reusable system is going to put you ahead!
Drain plugs always get nasty in these things. Much easier to clean without ut
@@ZmannR2 Is easier to clean without a plug. I think if it was a bigger cooler I'd call it a negative, but for something this size I'm OK with it.
I have on pretty disappointing that it doesn’t have a drain plug !
I thought that was odd to. On the flip side it’s a possible leak point and affects the insulation where it punches thru.
On a smaller cooler like this they must’ve felt it wasn’t worth those trade offs
It's not heavy to pour it out of the lid
Those ice blocks are designed to be used with ice tho
True, but If you don't need a full 48 hours of use and your stuff is pre chilled in the fridge, I find a few reusable blocks is enough.
If I need to keep things cold longer, or the stuff isn't pre chilled, then I'll add additional Ice in addition to the Yeti ICE as needed
Who gives a shit
24 pounds of ice....when it's empty.
I can get it at REI for 180. Should I get it for that deal?
