The coolers aren’t even the same size! How many times did they have to fill the Igloo with new ice? I’m sure on a weeks journey they filled it probably 4-6 times

People fail to realize that a cooler is basically a cooler NOT a freezer. No need to buy expensive coolers , instead invest those 400$ on a power inverter or something that will get your moneys worth.
My yeti had ice for our entire 3 day camping trip and still had ice 2 days later also the frozen water bottles we put in there the day before a few were still frozen. This is cap.
I’ve got the same Yeti and same Igloo. They both hold ice very well. You have to pack as much ice as possible. But the trick is to use ice that’s melted together into a solid brick. The ones that are almost impossible to break apart. Those last a couple of days longer.
Bagged ice is a rip-off. Freeze yourself a few buckets of water,then break the ice into smaller chunks.The bigger the chunk the better This process isn't nothing new,been around for many many years.
That kinda makes sense. When I use the ice from the fridge, my water seems colder and when I freeze balls or thick sticks of ice it lasts longer. I think the freezer ice has more surface area and may chill the water more but since it is not in a block, won't last as long. Now I put in 2 sticks and 2 scoops of ice in my 1200ml or 40floz bottle. @@Valeriamtzpso, you obviously don't have to buy a yeti, there are plenty of other brands that do the same thing, pre chilling is just a practice you do to help the ice stay cold when you first put it in. It should work with all coolers, but it may work better some coolers more than others. The idea is to remove any heat inside the cooler that could speed up the process of melting the ice, and for more advanced coolers it may also help cool down the elements that help keep the box cool for long periods of time.

Well who the hell wants to goto the beach or camping/tailgate and hold beer till the week after ya get home haha. Get it cold and drink it!!! Crap. My yeti will hold ice 4-7 days depending on how it was packed, what it was packed with, what the external temp was,etc. Also, your cooler may be a defect but I get the impression that MANY details were left out of this video.
That is definitely nice, but whenever I go to the beach, I don't need the ice to last for 4 days. Why I've stuck with my Coleman cooler and not purchased a yeti. Yeti coolers are amazing though and yes, this is a cap video. A lot of stuff was missed as to why the ice didn't last very long. There is no doubt in my mind that Yeti is greater than Igloo or Coleman, I just don't have the need to fork over a couple hundred for a cooler that I wouldn't utilize properly.
Ur 100% correct. More expensive doesn’t mean anything when it comes to a cooler. It’s all about insulation. I just pack a black trash bag at base and on top of the ice and a thin foam plate. Idk if I’m saying it right “foam plate” from Home Depot and it last for days even if we are opening and closing.
That yeti is $275 I have the same one in seafoam green. Also bet that yeti was baking in the sun..even if it was mine keeps it 72 hours. Lady is an absolute cap artist

I promise y’all were prolly in and out of the yeti more than the igloo. Yeti has much more mass to so if you pull it out of a hot garage it retains that heat and makes your ice melt quicker. You either need to sacrifice a bag of ice the night before or bring the cooler in the house for a few days to pre chill the cooler. Most folk(hunters/fisherman/construction)who actually use yeti product care less about about the ice retention and more about the durability of the cooler. Had one fly off the truck going 80mph never opened just had a little rash and is still going strong 10 years later

I got my tundra 45 for $200 flat at REI with my 25% yearly coupon and my $30 off for becoming a member and it beats my $200 stainless steel igloo I purchased for $200 in 2016. Keeps Ice a lot longer than my igloo.
5 days I had my yeti in my truck on 90 degree days and still had ice. Brand don’t matter nowadays. Igloo will do decent enough. Yeti will be decent enough, who gives a fuck but personal preference

Well I still like igloo and rtic over yeti, but… I doubt they where both prechilled and items inside where prechilled and they where opened the same. Otherwise I feel the better insulation on yeti vs the size on the igloo almost evens it out and the darker color

I would like to know which cooler was where. Was one inside and the other in the sun every day. I have 2 yeti and just bought a 3rd. We have a yeti 45 and put ice in it(no pre freeze) on a Wednesday night for church youth. It sat on my porch starting Wednesday night until Sunday afternoon and it still had ice. I won't buy another cooler. They are made well.

You can't put a small bag of ice and expect it to last. Has to be enough ice to fill it up so it can last for a few says. Go ahead and empty the Igloo out and pour just a cup of ice and see how long it will last. Not very long.

I got my first Yeti last year...I had it stored in my garage (Texas heat), grabbed it and put ice in it and took off on a trip...it didn't last 24 hours. I was talking crap about it to my coworker the next week, until he pointed out you had to pre chill it. Tried it the next outing and it made all the difference. People forget they're great at retaining both cold...and hot temperatures lol

Bullshit. I left a tan yeti in the bed of my pickup truck for a week in summer and still had a few ice chunks. I also have a small marine igloo cooler and packed to the top with ice, the ice only lasts a day.
I have a smaller yeti that size and it SUCKS!!!!!!!! But I also have 3 65s and a 110 and in 110 degree weather they hold ice for a couple days and in regular weather 75 degrees +\- it keeps ice almost a week idk why but that’s what I’ve seen my friend has an artic cooler a big one and a smaller one and they both hold ice for 4-5 days easy

I have a couple Igloo coolers from Walmart $30, but I also have the Journey trail mate for big rigs around $280 when I bought it.
