    I have a PowerPint in my EDC kit and I love the size and design, both of my knife blades came very sharp and have retained their edges pretty well. The pliers and bit holder are great. My scissors only work well left-handed and are very frustrating to use with my right hand, the small flat screwdriver tip gets bent/twisted very easily to the point that it's almost useless for anything but eyeglass screws (but it's too big). The file is ok-ish and the phillips works well. It is a real pity that they've used such soft steel for these tools because otherwise it would be an amazing multitool for it's size especially considering the lack of good alternatives

      I agree that if they had used good steel, and focused on the quality and use-ability of the tools instead of quantity of tools, then this would be a solid tool. But as it stands, i really think all the handle tools are bad.

    Big agree. I like it as a set of mini pliers but the inside tools are useless.

    Huge agree. And I got a lot of flack for saying it. The pliers are awesome. But the side-tools are a huge huge huge step below Victorinox or Leatherman. And as you mentioned a lot of the tools on the side are kind of useless. I found I had to literally remove quite a few of the tools on the side so that I wasn't carrying tools I didn't need. The side tools just feel very cheap and some are actually genuinely dangerous (in how they deploy).

      Yah, i was worried about posting this review because the general online consensus for this tool is hugely positive. But I can't seem to understand why when the handle tools are so terrible and, i agree with you, potentially dangerous.

      Yeah I'm just glad to hear other people feel the same way too! Honestly if these pliers

      Agreed. But i feel thats the problem with every SOG and gerber multitool - if they just had leatherman or victorinox quality, they'd be incredible tools!

    Great review! I really like the pint. Actually have two because I like fidgeting with it around the house and often misplace them. Sometimes I EDC it but usually grab my much larger Swiss Champ.
    I have purchased 3 (one as a gift) direct from Ali Express as I wouldnt pay $50 for this. The build quality is pretty inconsistent between them. For example I've never had that scissor opening issue you have.
    Agreed that the little tools aren't great but on par or better than other compact tools like the Dime. I think the whole the whole package is an impressive design. I view it as a collection of "in a pinch" little solutions wrapped around a great pliers and bit driver. I think it might be the most "solution" dense tool out there. Like if you wanted to cram as much utility as possible into an altoid tin then building around a PowerPint would be a good strategy.
    I wish it had the same build quality of the small swiss army knives.

      I think all the small multitools on the market (with the exception of victorinox models) have pretty poor quality. I think I'm so used to leatherman that i end up comparing everything to that.
      I have a leatherman style cs that i use daily. But the squirt line was so awesome and such great quality for the most part that it's a huge shame leatherman discontinued them all.

    I watched this video because im considering buying one. So I appreciate your analysis. In the very beginning, you almost complained about it being too small. But the smallness is just what makes it a good pocket-friendly tool, which is what I want. That's the only part of this video that I might disagree with.
    One question i might ask sog is, why didn't you include at least one flat blade screwdriver?? Better that than some of those other useless tools you talked about. Thanks for the review.

      The smallness is definitely an advantage this thing has. Maybe I edited the video wrong as I did not mean to give off the impression that I would complain about the small size of this tool. I think in the instance you are referring to, i was merely stating that this tool is very small as a fact.
      It has small flat blade screwdriver which is great for glasses, or small things. But I agree, there are some useless tools on this, and could have easily had a nice beefy flat head screwdriver!

    Your knife isn’t sharp? Maybe you should… sharpen it? The inside tools are all profoundly mediocre, but better to have them than not when you’re in a pinch. But the pliers are excellent, much better than they have any business being, and with a portable bit kit you’ve got a full set of screw drivers in your pocket using that magnetic bit driver, which is also a great feature.

    • @happylittletools
      @happylittletools  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course I could sharpen it. But it isn't worth my time. It is weird though that it didn't arrive that sharp. But that's okay. It was a minor gripe. :)

      @@happylittletools people are honing and stropping disposable safety razors. I just cannot comprehend this.

    I haven't tried it, but for the most part it seems like it just needs to be sharpened?

      The knife could be sharpened. But in general, that doesn't fix how flimsy the metal feels.

      It really is too bad the handles and handle tools are so poor. Because the pliers and bit holder is tremendous!

    mine feels great...it's a tiny ass tool meant for tiny ass jobs, i don't expect much out of it, like i would never expect a wood file to remove metal material, i have a leatherman with a diamond file for that and only SAK scissors are woth a damn on multi tools, the new budget brands also have good scissors...this is a keychain tool of course its flimsy....

    • @happylittletools
      @happylittletools  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But it didn't need to be flimsy. The plierhead and the bit holder are great and sturdy and quality. The rest of the tool could have really been something wonderful. The "wood" file on my leatherman PS4 i use on metals from time to time with ease. I dont think I've ever used a diamond file on metal.
