@@SharkysGarageRCandMore I think the tyres are fine - looks like the rear wheel steer takes you off the bridge - if you had 3 channels you would have better control. Which is something I need to do on a couple of my trucks! rws is cool until it gets you into trouble more times than it gets you out! the Ravine punches so far above its weight that it almost doesn't matter about the tyres - just look how good it is!

I've also found the steering arm flexes like crazy and causes bad bump steer (front and rear) so I ziptied an old car antenna on to stiffen it up and it works a treat!

I've found when climbing aggressive terrain one wheel can become lodged and your Ackerman angle goes haywire. Like enough to do definite damage if heavy throttle were applied.
I essentially beefed up the linking arm and the wheels stay far more parallel to each other.
It only happens on harder climbs or really grippy surfaces

Yep, the original tires are a bit hard, but you can improve it a little by taking one bead clamp ring off and removing the foam filler. The tires are stiff enough to support the truck without them. Also add some weight to the axles. I used sticky backed alloy wheel balance weights, scrounged from my local tire fitting guys.
    Love this crawler course! Bedfordshire?

@@SharkysGarageRCandMore Ah yes, a friend has some wheel weights on his Gmade R1 crawler. They were made on a lathe by one of the guys at work using some scrap copper billets. It's a better idea than my sticky weights on top of the axles, because it's even nearer to the ground. Many years ago I was a tire fitter and would go to farms to fill their tractor tires with water. We had data about the max volume to apply, so that all the weight stayed below the center of the axles.

Just an FYI, the Redcat Danchee Ridgerunner is the same vehicle, and it is described by Redcat as "splash proof" but specifically states it is not water proof and should not be submerged. I assume that means the axles should not be submerged as the servo and motors are axle mounted.
