Thank you for including slavery history in Charleston. Many southern places like to gloss over slavery as quickly as possible or not at all. It’s an important part of our American history to understand and appreciate!

Husband and I have been watching your travel shows since as far back as The Travel Channel days. Love all of them! My favorite travel series you did was Girl Meets Hawaii. I would love to see all of those again!

I'm a total foodie and I'm planning a "barbecue crawl" next year beginning in the Carolinas. These folks have been so hammered by natural disasters that I figure, I could do my part by providing plenty of outside dollars to help boost their economy. I intend to spend my money local to help the community - and eat some great BBQ and learn about the techniques for making it! (that they'll tell me😉)

Samantha, thanks for sharing this favorite place! As a travel agent I didn’t appreciate all of the historical and newer cultural activities. I was fascinated by the generational basket weaving, the delicious BBQ and of course the jail. I’d love to visit and hear more of the family histories. Very humbling.

I'm surprised you skipped Fort Sumter & Fort Moultrie & Sullivan's Island. We took a really fun power boat tour of the harbor and we each got to drive our own boats led by a guide. There are plenty of other boat tours in the harbor as well Also know that it is a very popular wedding town. When we were there in August, downtown was full of Bachelorette party groups. Also, it is very hot in the summer (and I live in Houston).

And speaking about ghosts, where is Nettie Dickerson buried? She died in 1846 at the old Planter's Hotel in Charleston. I'm a new subscriber from Chicago. Great program.

Charleston is really only now talking more about its slave history in detail. I talked to a guide at Edmonton Alston house and she said just 5 years ago the local government didn’t want any discussion or education about it on a large scale. They’ve since changed their tune esp after the opening of the African American museum.

The only thing you need to do next, is to accept the LORD JESUS CHRIST as your savior. John 3:16 Context
13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
