This is one of my very favorite episodes. Here are some reasons why: Listen to the background sound when Ricardo Cate first talks to the camera. The miraculously appropriate lyrics that you start to hear while Sam is overlooking the city on her hike (completely unintended). The unexpected transition out of that performance, and the way the scene later visually changes. The vintage stills in the hotel sequence looking like they're printed on stucco. The way the Harvey Girls bring us into the closing sequence by "answering Sam's last question." Like I said, one of our best.
My wife and I vacationed in Santa Fe back during the week of Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta last October 2023. We did a Hot Air Balloon ride about 25 miles north of Santa Fe and loved it. Experienced the Spa at Ojo Caliente Santa Fe Spa and loved it. Also spent some time in Taos too and loved it. The Santa Fe Plaza is historic and very unique experience. We loved it so much that we flew back to Santa Fe this past May for another weeks vacation.
I really appreciated the segment with the massage therapist. They were very articulate, informative, and humble in their healing approach. I love Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico. New Mexico is so under-rated as a travel destination.
I have lived and/or worked in Santa Fe since 1996. I’ve lived in my current place since 2011. My niche hobby is photography of the nature within walking distance of my home.
So glad you got to meet the two Harvey Girls, such wonderful people. I remember moving to Santa Fe in 1970, and staying at the La Fonda. There was a little shop in the Foyer then. Good place for breakfast as well.
My wife and I absolutely love Santa Fe. The last time we visited, we enjoyed a traditional Japanese onsen spa experience at Ten Thousand Waves. Thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories for us!
As a native person who’s been watching your show since I was a child, this episode was so wonderful to watch. Thanks for sharing your thoughtful and respectful trip!
Samantha, I've watched you on TV since I was a little child growing up in India.. especially the 'Passport to' series and your Asia travels... ❤ Now I'm 30 (Yikes!!!), and i still turn to you for travel and adventure advise! Lots of warm greetings to you 🎉❤🥳
@@revatichowgule8220 hi! Thanks so much for your kind words. I’m really happy my fans from around the world can finally watch the series that I’m most proud of. Thanks again!!
My wife lived there for twelve years. We were married in the Cathedral. We had mariachis lead a wedding procession from the Cathedral, around the plaza, and back. The plaza, in a sense, is ours.
No one, and I mean no one with any brains, would put aside a piping hot breakfast burrito to chat. Burrito first, then gab. Or maybe gab AND eat. And I noticed no one ordered their burritos “Christmas Style!”
Thank you for not selling Santa Fe or New Mexico as only a tricultural experience (Anglo, Spanish, Native) as others were here also and contributed but they are not recognized so much or at all by our Tourism Commission.
I've been watching Samantha Brown for years, and I'm amazed that she never seems to age. She's timeless!
@@SamanthaFl thanks!
Oh she aged if she came to Santa Fe. Santa Fe is a fake city redesigned for old white people
All the way back to "Globe trekker"!

Spooky
