    When your debt is sold to a collection agency they lose all of your contractual information, they don't know if you are the real person they're looking for. Always deny never tell them who you are or give them your address or any other information.I disputed 13 collections on Credit Karma for my TransUnion account and they are all gone. I did them all online I didn't have to mail them. You never exhaust your rights buy filing. If that don't work you always have the four letters to send by mail. But saying that it doesn't work is wrong

      JIMI JAMS When you disputed the creditors what did you use for the reason?

    • @rdnckgrlo
      @rdnckgrlo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      JIMI JAMS credit karma will not allow me to dispute here is a copy and paste.
      It looks like we're unable to submit your request online. But you can still make a dispute request with TransUnion by mailing them this form or by calling them at 1-800-916-8800. There is no form either.

    • @With_Both_Hands
      @With_Both_Hands 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      PullYourselfTogether it could be just temporarily down or you can try to download the app. that's where I file my disputes. I got 13 delinquencies off my credit report and never mailed TransUnion one letter. And surprisingly Equifax and Experian we'll take the same debt off of their report if TransUnion deletes it. That doesn't apply to every single that were collection but for most. I had 11 delinquencies on my Equifax and 6 of them fell off just because TransUnion deleted them.

      Matilde Zelaya,
      This is a great question.
      Then again; some people would screw over companies this way by taking the goods or services with the intention of paying for only pennies.

    Hey sir my name is Ruth Garza I think I figured out why they took advantage of you when it comes to debt collectors that you just noticed see you are a veteran was in the army and served they had to turn around and got some information it looked into your history of being a a person that is there are cunning and sneaky like that's why they might have went after youbecause they were looking for a person that does hurt. Country p so basically they took advantage but deep down inside I am so glad to hear that you sue the pants off of them I'm glad that you won the case as soon as you got your money back 👍😁 good for you 👍 it is about time somebody went up to the debt collector and tell him to go blow I'm always saying this to you because I have a situation I owe a debt I am way over the $2,000 mark that means creditors my husband only owes the $800 mark how we know this in one 1999 and that year we have gotten married they turn around and said his credit cards apply for a credit because I never applied one before because of my stupidity I went and got one knowing that I was on a government check a social security check that I get every month SSIthey give me SSI and social security check because I am mentally challenged that means retarded my husband is a SSI check also but this way before he got his his retirement because he worked also wait before I met him in the back of the back in the 50s so we apply for we apply for the credit cards I want over way too much so we had a problem went and got kicked out in the street we could not pay the because we lived in the streets for 7 years and that. Of time we were trying to get side jobs to pay it as soon as that we were doing good my husband was real close to paying off his but something happened I gotten some has to go to court for Target 😒 o Charlie's Somers me to go to court that was the one was way over the $2,000 it all the old credit cards on top of bottarga was only one is Sue me at so what happened was I went and try to file for child file for bankruptcy when I went to court the judge looked at a thing and guess what he said this is the part you might the judge said wow look at this symbol look at this sticker is a sticker I'm just saying it he said look at this he said I don't even get this in my courtroom it might have been a good rookie that he does not get this type of symbol from the knighted states of America so he is so he showed it to the man that was trying to go after me for Target the he wanted a copy of that so we gave him the copy of that and at that time the judge and said the judge said the case is closed and she could not fall know she could file for

If You don't have the $ ta pay them,they can't force you to pay" After I got to know how those collecters work I felt better.They called me a couple days after and I picked up.They sounded commanding and also tried ta scare me again and just for doing that I "lashed" out at them "F*** YO DON'T CALL HERE AND TRY TA SCARE ME YOU STUPID F***.Then the next day they called again,I just messed with them.They asked Hi is so n so there ? I played along "Olah,EEEY que pasa ese Are You Ready Ta "Kick It" Wit Tha Vatos ? After all that I continued messin' with them.I'm a Filipino aka 'Flip" those bastards got tired of calling. 🤣🤣🤣

    • @certified_boogeyman
      @certified_boogeyman 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can always call a debt collector that you've paid off after the fact and ask to have the derogatory remark removed. It's best to do before you agree to anything because they can always say no but most of them will remove it after you've paid upon request.

    • @Iamamandamechelle
      @Iamamandamechelle 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can ask them but it’s against the credit bureaus for them to do that and they could lose their contract what you could do is do a self lender loan and a secured credit card even if you have someone that’s will add u as a authorized user but I would only do that if I know for a fact they pay their bills on time

      I got hit by collections on a cox cable bill. I had turned in my equipment personally but they billed me so they say by email. Is that legal to bill you by email? I didn’t know I had a bill because when turning in equipment I asked what my bill was and they said I was paid up. Now I have 163.00 bill. Collections calling me everyday to pay it. I don’t feel I owe it. But it’s giving me only negative report besides a few medical collections.

    Great Stuff, Do you guys have a video on Eliminating Judgements against you? Mine were issued in 2011 I had an accident at work and don't remember much of my past debts. I am still getting letters from Collection agencies as of today asking for crazy money, but I never made a deal any collecting agency. They tried to garnish my bank account one time, but I made sure I told them that money in my account was Social Security Money and were Medicare funds I needed to keep incase Medicare Comes for it. They Eventually withdrew from garnishing my bank account. One week later I end up getting my money released from the bank.
    So I would like to know how to remove judgements as i hear they can take up to 20 years to go away in NYC.

    Quick question. I’ve been afraid to answer my phone but I was getting calls 2-3 times a day and they were all coming from a different number. At night I called these numbers from another phone and they all answered with a recording stating “you’ve reached Portfolio Recovery”. I’m concerned this may be a scam since I collected 17 numbers in less than a week. Another reason is because I was notified by Capitol One and Experian that my information was hacked.
    I’d like to thank you for your information videos. You’ve helped me out a lot as now I know what to say to respond to calls.

    • @morganna2335
      @morganna2335 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another question. You stated to dispute the charge hen they call and do not confirm who you are. How is that possible if they call and you state you will not confirm anything so they hang up and keep calling because they won’t talk to you since you haven’t confirmed to them you are the correct person. Since debt collectors cannot speak with anyone else other than your spouse, wouldn’t this open up a catch 22? If you don’t confirm your name then they can hang up without giving you the opportunity to request debt validation. Wouldn’t it be easier to state it is you but when they state the reason you can then tell them send me the debt validation and I can review it to see if you have the correct person.

    What if it's an unknown number calling, and they don't leave a message, but have called a family member looking for you, and have mailed a letter saying you have 30 days to dispute the validity of the debt in writing and if not, they will assume the debt as valid? They did have the original creditor's name on there and the last 4 digits of the account number. What do I do next?

    I received a summons from the debt I may or may not have had in another state. I say "may or may not because I honestly I don't remember. Anywho, I received a summons last year but I never did about it because I honestly didn't remember. After watching this video I noticed this particular company is not on my credit report. Should I be concerned? Considering they never followed up with another letter and it's not on my credit report? I know collections fall off your credit after 7 years-so maybe that's the reason I don't see it. However, I do find it odd.

When I got the paper the date of when it was delivered is missing the year it only showed the month and day and the sever forgot to put the year. So they say I have 14 days from the day delivered to send my answer but there is no year. Can I used this against them what is the smart play here?

  • @StellaJardin
    @StellaJardin 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    the last part is not necessarily correct, I worked and studied in the medical field. under HIPAA laws, if the debt is sent to a collections agency, it's usually a medical insurance company looking to recoup a "loss". anything else is illegal. for instance, say a medical center sold a debt to a collections agency that also buys debt from T-Mobile. it's probably, most likely, some random office in a building in Pennsylvania, or running out of a residence. If that place were to get burgled or ransacked, your medical records are now compromised and exposed. the debt collectors for medical expenses would need to be verified as a reputable insurer, and you have every right to ask them to verify their authenticity.

  • @mperezitz
    @mperezitz 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Hi I haven't heard this being mentioned on your videos but I just found out that once you do the dispute and it gets taken off your credit report that collection agency can sell your debt to a different collection agency and then the whole process starts over again how true is this

    What can be done about debt collectors harrassing me about the supposed debts of my 40 year old son in another state. He has never lived at this address or had access to this telephone number.

    Actually under law 609 by the FCRA they are required to produce MUCH more then just something showing they bought it from the original creditor. I challenged 9 things on all three of my credit files asking to see the ORIGINAL SIGNED CONTRACT with my signature as required by law 609 of the FCRA. Sure enough, it worked. This is a loophole few consumers know about. Outof the 9 items i challanged 7 got removed from all three bureaus because the original contracts with the original creditors couldnt be produced. Sadly, for me, there were two that were able to produce said contracts with my signature (they were under a year old both). So utilize FCRA 609 when possible. It's free. Only money i spent was sending things REGISTERED MAIL as i was advised by someone whod done the same thing. Google LAW 609 FCRA for more information.

    Hi! Do you have an email where I can contact you for help. I really need help understanding what is "proper" validation of a debt per the fdcpa. I hear ppl saying different things on TH-cam. Like the collector needs to have the original contract with your signature and if they send you copies of statements or old Bill's it is not considered validation of a debt. However, it seems that the fdcpa section 809 says that is proper validation and doesn't state an original contract is needed. So it's very confusing and I'm trying to understand my rights during my dispute process with the CRs and the collectors. Please help. I'm a new subscriber to your channel.

      Hello Wilda Lowe. Regarding the SOL on debt; the first debt collector will try to collect and if they cannot they pass it on to another, etc. Now the most important thing to remember is if you are contacted by a third party debt collector and you admit to the debt, the debt is immediately re-aged from that day. For instance; they call you and you speak to them and admit you owe the debt, so never speak to them on the phone. A simple verse is; I do not handle business on the phone, please put it in writing; then hang up. DO NOT ever verify your address or give your address. If they send you a communication by mail and you do not respond in writing with 30 days, they automatically assume the debt is valid and they will pursue the debt and in some cases they will sue you. So it's important to respond in writing and dispute the debt and mail it via certified mail and keep the receipt and a copy of your dispute letter. You can find sample letters on google. hope that helps, blessings.

      If the “collection law firm” refuses to identify itself, it sounds like a scam.

      This law firm filed a lawsuit and withdrew because there was no proof that could be submitted under court rules of evidense. The creditor claims I could not be served as an excuse for dropping legal action.

      That will continue to happen to your credit until you sue to stop it. Read The Fair Credit Reporting Act 15 USC §1681 et seq. and get educated about negative marks on your credit report.

    I am so upset that I verified my name and address with a collection agency. I thought it was the delivery company calling to confirm my address and then they tell me they are calling from Portfolio recovery. I have dodged their calls for 2 years and now they have my address. I think I'm screwed! I'm assuming that I will start getting a ton of phone calls or they may try to sue me. Anyone have any advice?😔
