    when I did my fuel pump years ago,I took both straps out,cleaned it out and put POR 15 on them
    now they are good for ever
    also bought the set gary's fuel pump wires and I never have to worry about those tiny little factory wiring

    Thank you so much if it wasn't for this video I would have changed the pump I would have been disappointed. I was messing with that red wire and used it for an accessorie and ended up blowing the fuse. It ran fine the next day like nothing ever happened then 2 hours later when I got back in to start and leave I had nothing got so mad I hillbilly towed it home watched your video and BAM new fuse fired right off thanx again hope to see more vids from you.

    I’ve also had issues with installing the new type fuel sender. The reading were erratic, tried every brand still having the issue. My stock one reading fine but after removiing I did something to ruin it. So your better off with the stock one.

    I need a new fuel pump for my Impala SS 1996 but parts are so scarce. Can you please let me know where I can get one from U.S that will hopefully ship to Canada? Thx

    Have a question u might knw. I knw it has north to do with the fuel pump but I just did my fuel.pump started the car and the park lights come on when I turn the key and stay on what could that be?

    • @Twostallgarage
      @Twostallgarage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Could be getting back fed from the fuel pump to the taillights. The harness in the trunk on the drivers side for the tail and the fuel pump all run through the same pig tail. My connector was giving me trouble, so I snipped it out and hard wired all the wires back together. The ground for the fuel pump and taillights was my issue, since they are both on one circuit.

      @@Twostallgarage thank you so much u saved me a few times I believe your right because my blinkers dont blink or anything should I start. At the plug that plugs to the pump first since this didn't happen before I did the pump ?? Or go right to the harness in the trunk ?? Thanks in advance

    • @Twostallgarage
      @Twostallgarage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tkong35 no worries. Since you’re having issues with blinkers, start at that harness. See if when you start to unplug it, your blinkers begin to work or parking lights come back. I still haven’t fully looked at my plug to see why I was getting back fed to the dash, but haven’t had issues since I hard wired it all. You can start with the ground. Work from there. I put my fuel pump on its own ground at the back (believe it was in the video) and eliminated the possibility of corrosion that might be hidden in the harness. Self tapper and an eyelet at the trunk pan area.. coat it with couple dabs of touch up paint and good.
      Hope that helps

      @Twostallgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BGKO1992 I haven’t upgraded. I’m not familiar with their set up, but I’d assumed the two ways you could do it would be unloom the original harness thru the car to the fuse box and reinstall that racetronix or go race car mode and have the stock harness abandoned and reroute it on the frame rail to the fuse box. Good luck!

      @@Twostallgarage speaking of harnesses, i just checked the female connecter that is mounted between the rear bumber, and the tank, i got no electricity on the first and last but the one in the middle ( the port for the purple wire ) got somewhat decent lighting on my tester screw, is that fine ? or should i get electricity from the three of them ?
