Kenny's profit margin is getting smaller with each meal he puts into these 3 Bulls! If they stay much longer, his deep freezer won't have anything left but the echo of his voice!😂🤣
You all were sure cranking out the firewood, especially for the first time working together as a group!👍
I hope everybody has a great weekend! Sure been some good videos this week...Thanks

Moveable wood crib like what you built, but much better... If youu took just 2 trees, and cut a flat edge to make sled rails you could build a very long box with pallets and just drag everything during the winter to a drying area. Right off the splitter into a wood crib that can be transported. No trailer needed anymore. Start with the rails just wide enough for the splitter to fit between. Then add a pallet and sides as it fills up until you get to the end of your sled rails. Attach a strap by drilling holes into the sled rail nose and you're done until you load into a trailer the next year.

    • @InTheWoodyard

Sounds like a lot of work to not have a trailer any more.

Hopefully can have some fun with them like you and the crew helping Kenny. They cut, we run each others saws, and playtime with my splitter. Some burning questions (pun intended):
    1) Have you test driven the Husquvarna or Sthil electric saws? While a boatload of batteries woud be needed it would free us from the gas pump. Appears the largest bar currently offered is 18 inch.
    2) Please comment on why you don't heat primarily with wood. I'm just curious, not judging.
I've learned much from you, most importantly to embrace the rhythm of constant stacking. I don't sell wood but it's been my primary heat source for maybe 50 years with just a few breaks. I now buy four cords / year cut & split, green, which I age for a year. My supplier is a friend & we always argrue about money ... I tell him he doesn't charge enough. Here in rural western Massachusetts firewood is generally sold as mixed hardwood but not seperated by species. And we don't speak of face cords, it's a cord or a 1/3 but faceless.

    • @InTheWoodyard
      @InTheWoodyard  ปีที่แล้ว

      No batteries yet.
I burn wood but not for primary.
I try to not use my own supply of good wood and burn just the odd stuff.
I make enough money selling wood so I can just turn up the gas! Haaa!

Nicely done! That new yard looks very close to a busy road. Concerns?

Yup, one of the "d" splitters would be great. But the Ultra is very fast too.

Many hands make light work. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

A machine mounted log lift might help the back but would slow down production in this scenario. IMHO

In this scenario, a log lift could be used as a staging spot to pile rounds to go thru splitter.

If the eastonmande was to break would you go back with the same one or would you upgrade?

Good question??? I really like the size and speed of the ULTRA.

Does the splitter start moving backward when the pile of splitted wood is stable enough and the splitter continues in to press the wood into the pile?
