Thanks John. I remember it explained like this once: The devil always votes for our death thru sin. God always votes for our life thru Christ... and WE have the deciding vote in every situation! Our vote tips the scales. It will always be 2:1.

Man of God, from where do they influence Christians? And what do you do when they've caused a family member, who's born again, to get to a state of psychosis, and, now on psychotic meds.
I went through the same thing in the beginning of my walk with Christ. It was a struggle my whole life to believe in God, and to trust Him. But, I pressed on, and through the gifts of the HS, I'm the most free I've ever seen me. I've learned to wait on the Lord these past 50 years, and the last 25 yrs have been the most changing. I'm learning a lot from your videos, as the HS reveals stuff, and I see more clearly. Thank you, you are blessed, I can see, and I give God thanks for leading me to you. Pray for me sir, in the name of Jesus, our great God, and Savior, Jesus Christ, amen. Bless me some more!!!! I'm waiting, and expecting, amen, and to God be the glory, and honor, amen. I love you.

What shocked me was after my husband of 30 years died and we both got saved right after that I started getting just the worst thoughts in my head that I had ever had in my life. I knew they weren’t my thoughts because I’ve never thought anything like that. It was shocking to me and it took me a while to figure out that they were not my thoughts but that Satan was putting those thoughts in my mind. Of course I’ve never acted on any of those thoughts and they are just something that doesn’t even appeal to me it’s so foreign to me and yet no matter how much I command those thoughts to go, they still come back. It just makes me so mad because I know it’s not me and I don’t want those thoughts. I’ve been a widow for 22 years I’ve never even had a date because I have spent that time pursuing God and have loved it but I still am tormented by these thoughts. Not all the time but soon as I forget about it there they come. What do you think this is about John? And what can I do, I do command him to leave in the name of Jesus. But I don’t see why they keep coming back after this many years I’ve never acted upon him and he’s told to go why does he keep coming back with the same thoughts? I’m so weary!

Hi Linda - What you share above is pretty normal. You dance all around what those thoughts are without stating them, so let me speak in the hypothetical and general sense.
What I've seen in 44+ years of ministering to people, and among them many widows and widowers, is that God created the sex drive and the drive to be with someone. At the same time He created the moral code which tells us to govern our feelings and urges and natural drives.
There are thoughts Satan can float out there to see if we grab them, and there are thoughts that arise purely within our flesh, and there are godly thoughts and ideas He gives us in our spirit.
With all that comes the fact many Christians never deal with, which is our flesh loves the things fo the flesh. To one, gambling might be the temptation they fight, to another alcohol, to another sex, to another the drive for money and status. Every person has that thing their flesh most craves, often cyclical in monthly or every couple of weeks sort of temptation.
But each person has to know what their flesh's weakness is. Food, money, sex, alcohol, drugs, gambling, status and so on - know your flesh, know your strengths and weaknesses, and realize that's just being human in this earth-body. Everyone is different.
So we have Paul's dilemma of Romans 7 - in the spirit man I love God and serve him, and in the flesh I desire to do ungodly things. Paul never blamed the devil, he put it on himself. And concluded Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death, in Romans 8.
My suggestion, not knowing what those thoughts are, is to be honest with yourself as to the how and why that particular subject of sin is a temptation. For instance, an adult grows up, marries, has kids, then after 40 years of marriage their spouse dies and they are all alone.
They take up drinking and often get drunk, at home, where no one is looking. When they dealt with the how and why, they realized their parents were social alcoholics and would start the day with a drink, then go without, until they got home the end of the day, then get loaded. But not to the degree of feeling a hangover the next day, just that their parents had to have that drinking in the evening....
And here they were decades later, repeating what they grew up with - marriage had served as as sort of barrier and distraction for decades, but when all that was stripped away, they became their parents....
So first, be honest with and examine yourself...any factors growing up that could contribute to those repeated thoughts?
Another situation was a woman who was sexually abused when young, then found the love of her life, married, kids, and such, then became a widow....she became promiscuous within months of her husband dying, and she hated herself for it. The reason she did it was because in the abuse as a girl she had blamed herself, thought she wasn't worthy of anyones love, and so on - and her husband came along and helped heal her, yet those residual feelings stayed....
After he had passed, she fell into loneliness, and her old way and feelings came up, and she sought the comfort in man after man, never finding what she had with her husband...still hurting like that little girl.
So examine for any long ago things that might be opening the door now for you, to those thoughts, would be one suggestion. Second, come to grips with your flesh if indeed there is some valid desire, urge, need of the body and/or emotions you are suppressing, and not dealing with honestly deep in your heart, and by blaming the thoughts, are ignoring the natural needs and desires.
And third, realize that nothing you are experiencing is out of the ordinary - it is normal. You have to find your way with the Lord on these things, and nothing you are experiencing has caught Him by surprise....so make an honest evaluation of your past and present, know your own strengths and weaknesses, and while you deal with thoughts - yes by all means cast them out and away in the name of Jesus.
But do so not out of fear, not out of hiding behind the rebuke - unless you also deal with the temptation of the flesh that opened the door to the demonic suggestion in the first place. Deal with what opens the door.
James said in 1: 14-16 that we are carried by our lusts and then enticed. Satan does the enticing, but unfortunately, these earth-suits are subject to the temptations of earth. It's not a sin to be tempted, we just have to deal with it. But don't just rebuke the Enticer, also deal with the desire in the flesh...
My email is cwowi@aol.com if I can be of further help. Blessings, John

I'm always looking for what God is showing others besides myself. I stumbled onto this site and am glad for it, having believed since before the year 2,000 that the future churches would be in homes. I have held house meetings in the past, and it was wonderful, but I'm now 87 and with Covid around, not likely to do so again. I am a little concerned with teaching that we are not to pray about demons, using Jesus' coaching as example. Having been on a deliverance team in the past, I saw prayer bring the Holy Spirit presence to enable us to minister to victims, and to cast demons out. I'm thinking of Eph6:12, where we are told that we fight not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, etc; etc;" Isn't prayer a fighting tool provided by God? Jesus did His praying much of the nights, and was prepared for the next day. I'm not arguing against your words, but am curious, as while Jesus did not tell us to pray against demons, He did not tell us not to, either. Many times we have to figure out the obvious for ourselves, seems to me. In any case, I'll be interested in all you have to say. We all get parts, not the whole.

Can you please explain why you distinguished between the written word vs. the person of the word? I always had assumed it meant written word. Thank you!

Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry and sin not: let not the sun go down on your wrath. 27 Neither give place to the devil.
My understanding was always "don't go to bed angry". When I think of it, that just sounds silly to me. My understanding now is this, be angry... be angry at the devil... be angry that he is stealing my birthright from me. Just a couple verses before Paul is talking about putting on the new man and being renewed in the spirit of your mind. It is after he mentions this that he is saying to be angry and sin not. I think we are to be angry. Angry at the enemy for trying to steal our birthright and identity in Christ.

If sin is stopping my husband from getting medical treatment what should I pray? He is so sick that he is bed ridden now. It is physical killing my daughter and me. My husband wants to die. But not doing the right thing is destroying my health. What should I do?
