TH-cam needs to give warnings before strikes and claims. When one is issued, you should get a week's notice to take the material out. The timestamp rule will make it easy to fix

Ninja ni len's 3 Hey There !! Very new TH-camr here ...a couple videos back while attempting to upload new content- TH-cam flagged me before uploading and identified the songs that were a copyright violation. Gave me the option to remove the clips or replace the music ....Not sure why they gave you no warning.
IMPORTANT: I am a 50k TH-camr and this man makes a lot of sense. Here is another reason why. Say you have an outro or an intro song that is non-copyrighted. Yes at the time it very well could have been non copyrighted. HOWEVER, if the artist for any reason decided to get that music copyrighted down the road, then TH-cam can go back and copyright all of your videos which used it. I have about 1k videos on my channel and this happened to me back a few years ago. I had an old outro that I used and I loved the music. I never got a copyright strike, BUT TH-cam flagged about 100 of my videos and can't receive ad revenue on those particular videos. Live and Learn people. Follow this man's advice!

You're right, there was a Logic song with no copyright which got copyrighted a few years later.
It just makes your video ineligible for monetizing it doesn’t copyright strike. This guy says not a paid promotion but it obviously is.

You'll get a copyright claim now which demonetizes the video, but you won't get a strike. This guy is clearly sponsored by Epidemic Sounds and is trying to scare you into not using non copyrighted music lol. Just use it you'll be fine. Worst case scenario is you get a copyright claim and the video can't be monetized. Don't let this guy scare you away from non copyrighted music.

Yep. I just decided to start making my own music for my videos, much less headache. I have an electric piano, and a traditional piano. It's added a whole new method of creativity to my videos. Takes a bit longer, but worth it. So that's another way to go about getting music on a video, if you're musically inclined :)
Make sure to copyright your music as someone can claim it and any ad revenue earned on your videos will be paid to the person who stole YOUR music.

GOD BLESS YOU! I almost used one on a drawing video I worked for +20 hours and then I went to the comments and everyone was talking about how they got copyrighted.
I had an experience with this issue a while back. I used to get my no copyright songs from everywhere, and I once found this song that was perfect. I read the description of their channel and they said that all their music was copyright free. I used the song and immediately after posting it got copyright claimed. Since then, the only channel I trust is audio library. They have hooked up with the artists to make sure they are 100% free, and when there is an issue, you can contact them and they will sort it out
Are you sure the song didn't say "Royalty Free" instead of "Copyright Free"? Because there's a difference between the two.
The problem is that people don't take down the infirmation or understand the right. The fact is, if they offer it up to no copyright, then when they copyright it, videos made before the copyright cannot be penalized. But you have to have the documents to prove that's what it says. That's why this statement is not completely true. With offered up to no copyright use can be counter sued for copyright fraud. Just saying.
@@jst1man Wow! Wish I had known this a few hours years back because I used a song that was a no copywrite song, but yet I get an email maybe a year later saying that it was now copywritten and I couldn't use the song. I tried to appeal, but it didn't work.

Ppl shouldn’t be able to say something is copyright free and then make it copyright. It should only apply to videos made after the song got copyrighted but the videos that used it while it was copyright free should be able to use it because that’s not fair and it’s misleading.

It's supposed to be fine to use. Someone recently left a comment saying they got a copyright claim from using music from that library. I've never personally used it so I can't speak from experience

Thank you! I definitely started to use my account with Epidemic Sound after watching this. Some videos are misleading in that they will say "copyright free," and then you still get hit with a copyright claim. It's dishonest.
That’s why I make ALL of my music on GarageBand. It might not be the most conventional or “easy” method, but this assures I’m not going to get copyrighted.

Ok so Epidemic Sound is a paid monthly subscription. Any videos published under the free trial period is at no charge & cleared from copyright(via their FAQ section on website read this). After the free trial there is a monthly fee( which I personally think is worth it) but that's for you to decide on after trying out their music library.

Surely I could use certain video game songs that are no copyright. For example C418 released a huge soundtrack for Minecraft years ago and now that minecraft is the most popular video game and his songs are in tens of thousands of youtube videos, there’s no chance it’s ever getting copyrighted. I hope so at least.
Edit: Actually it is copyrighted but with he gave youtube and twitch permissions so any content creator can use his music as long as we aren’t claiming it’s ours and just uploading the songs as is
Absolutely right. I used a few and a few months later got a copyright notice. Apparently, the artist sold it and the new owner came after whoever used it. Such a pain to deal with it. YT must look at the time of use instead of going back and screwing everyone up. What a joke.

Yes that music is provided by TH-cam for use in your videos. You can read TH-cam's terms and conditions for it's audio library

Anything uploaded during the period of a valid subscription is covered. You just can't upload any new videos with their audio without a valid subscription
Guys this is so true..... am a new TH-camr and I experienced it on one of my video I posted last week. The beat that I used had no copyright but when I uploaded my video it showed that the music is licensed by TH-cam.

Modern copyright laws are effed up. Not only in the US... In Russia, in Brazil, in France, all over the world!
I have a law degree and I know that even most lawyers don't really understand how it works... And even if one knows copyright law well enough to understand how it works, the most lucrative thing you can do with copyright is to become a lawyer yourself, work for a big company, and make money by suing people! You cannot escape the reality that it's created in a way to support big corporations over small creators like you and me...
Maybe one day, things may change for the better... But for that, we need a huge change in the laws themselves!
I just started a TH-cam channel, recorded twenty videos to use using Freesounds and Pixabay Music, started uploading them and saw two out of six of them had copyrights on them this morning! Supposed copyright free music, right? I almost quit this morning. So much work put in. Thanks to you, I'll just start over with Epidemic. Should I steer clear of Pexels and Pixabay videos as well? Since I'm starting over, it will be great to know if I REALLY TOTALLY need to start over.

I would say using NCS (No Copyright Sounds) is an alright site to use since it's been used by many TH-camrs and they haven't removed any of their content so that may be your 2nd best option ?

Actually u can use it, if copyright is added you can trim the song out later. You don’t get copyright strikes for this anymore, it’s just ineligible for monetizing.
