I really like the CSB translation I find it flows well . I use it when I’m leading my small group and love the wide margins on this and red vs black! Thank you Tim for another informative video! I also a reference geek 🤓
Beautiful Bible! For those who like this text block but maybe can’t spend as much, the brown bonded leather edition is only $14 on Lifeway right now. I use it daily and it has held up better than most bonded leathers.
VBV is definitely the way to go for preaching, teaching and following the cross-references, no matter what version you use. Also like seeing the references bottom right, like the ESV Omega; not a fan of center-column. I like references separate from the notes; it's the one thing I don't like about my blue letter NKJV Maclaren. Love that this one is black letter and that the maps are matte, not glossy, too. I pre-ordered the single-column in marbled burgundy calf after your recent review of it. Can't wait to give it to my wife! Thanks for another good one, Sir, and God bless you.
I've gotta say, it's not as big as I thought it would be. I received mine today and it's fantastic. Feels good in hand, I'm excited to see how it's going to age. Glad I waited for this edition.
My wife bought me the CSB Charles Spurgeon Study Bible for me when we got engaged. I’ve used it ever since. Not sure if you’ve done a review of that one, but I love it and the CSB in general. That’s my primary translation
I just got a fake leather version of this from a used bookstore. The format is actually quite nice. I plan on reading through the entire CSB this year, even though it is not my primary translation, I expect to get good use out of this.
I received the tan calfskin two weeks ago. I absolutely love it! So soft, print is great, so clean. I can’t make myself highlight or write in it because it’s too pretty. Also, not highlighting has made me a better student to remember and find verses rather than have cheat notes.
I wanted so badly to love & use the previous edition of the VBV in goatskin but the absence of pilcrows or paragraph indicators was something I couldn't get past. Petty I know but it is what it is. 😁
Agreed! I think their Large Print Personal Size Reference Bible is their best block. Those end of paragraphs references are just awesome. Would love to see that text block get this premium handcrafted treatment :)
Hey Tim, tried reaching out to you about Fuller. I’m considering going there for my MDiv. I was wondering how much they prepare you in biblical languages. Had other questions too as I was considering other Seminaries. Blessings - Cliff
As a verse by verse this is a really good bible. I think it would be easy to preach from. However, as a wide margin, it is very disappointing. The layout means that there is only space to make notes beside half the bible. I know this isn't the only one, but why do publishers make WM bibles with 2 columns and only 1 column for notes?
As the Bible breaks in the inner margin does present a bit more writable space. But I get what you’re saying. Cambridge always made a nice inter margin in their wide margins. But then the Bible REALLY becomes a beast
Instead of making bibles cheap for people to read they are making premium bibles where people find it expensive to buy especially we who live in india. So we just satisfy ourselves by looking at it. It's very sad.
I like the Burgundy color CSB Bible, great Layout! Thank you Tim! 🍀🍀🍀
That's really nice having just 2 columns and the cross referencing following the second column.
It makes for clean looking page.
😊
Verse by verse, and wide margin?!. Now you have my attention!😁
This is the calfskin edition but we already have the goatskin edition of the VBV wide margin since a year ago.
Yeah on lifeway they didnt mention it was wide margins. So it was a nice surprise to see that when I got the box.
'it doesn't look wide margin
@@Totinatorsandi its not as big is the Cambridge wide margin but plenty big for small notes.
@@Mike_W78 I would love it because I don't have a vbv
Great Video and CSB Bible Tim! ☘☘🍀🍀
This text block is one of my favorites.

Nice!
Ordered one for myself and a friend! ❤
Thank you for this review.
Hope you enjoy it!

Man, I was trying to decide which color I wanted in the single column and now you show me the VBV versions!
Thanks for the video, I almost purchased the tan and then your videos helped me realize burgundy all the way! 🥳🥳
I'm so glad!
I got the black goatskin one a little while back discounted to 130. Crazy high quality for that price. Love it and have really been using it a lot.
Absolutely gorgeous
I just love reading my CSB VBV brown bonded leather. Actually prefer it over my CSB Quentel. 😮
I have a pre-order in for the burgundy. Eagerly awaiting…
Love the burgundy! Nice typeface. thanks!
Thank you! Cheers!

Great to hear!

Preacher here. I do use the goatskin!
I’m waiting for mine to come next week. I ordered the tan, tho I have to say that burgundy looks very nice.
The tan looks very nice. I hope they'll make a NASB 2020 edition in this typesetting. I'd be very interested.
I wanted so badly to love & use the previous edition of the VBV in goatskin but the absence of pilcrows or paragraph indicators was something I couldn't get past. Petty I know but it is what it is. 😁
Looks fabulous. If they had made the references end of verse, I think that would have made for my perfect bible

On standby!
I would love to know how this stacks up against Schuyler in your opinion.
I’m trying to decide between the burgundy and tan of this same Bible. Do you think one is one softer (floppier) than the other?
No matching personal size in tan calfskin???
You have many bibles, where do you get the calf bible?

Was it an email or DM?
Is anyone thinking that Holman is trying to compete with Schuyler and R.L. Allan?
That is unusual, in my experience, that the calfskin costs more than the goatskin. It normally the reverse.

I really dislike double column "wide margins" which don't have wide margins in the gutter. It is useless if you want to use it for notes.

They make very many inexpensive Bibles as well, and some even for mass distribution. They are just not featured on this channel.
They make plenty of budget friendly bibles….
