BTS Cypher part 1, 2, 3, and 4.This was my first time hearing them rap through an entire song. I loved the way the boys flex on their haters and their competition in these cyphers. Hip hop is the perfect genre to let that out. Their rap game definitely needs to be respected.

Man... Hoseok not only “raps a little”, he IS a rapper. A truly rapper, like RM and Suga. Hoseok is not like most of those kpop boys or girls who just try to be cool while talking fast lol, he wrote all his verses like RM and Suga, like a REAL rapper should do. Write their own stuff. Hoseok has his own studio and has released a mixtape and solo tracks and collabs. Plus, this year, RM and Hoseok became officially full members of the korean copyright association, so now the whole rap line of BTS are certified members.

Dude, Hobi is a legit rapline member, lol. Why'd you play our Hope & Sunshine like that??? And in the middle of his verse too 😭😭😭. You see the three members in the cyphers because they are all the group's rappers. Just so you know, Hobi is the Golden Hyung. He can rap, sing and obviously dance. FYI, when you were talking about Suga in Cypher 4, it was actually Hobi that was rapping. (BTW, I'm not triggered. Just giving you a hard time, lol. You'll learn all their roles soon enough.) Regarding your observation on RM's bilingual abilities, you really need to check out Ddaeng and DKDKTV's Ddaeng explained by a Korean. Also, a lot of us loosely consider Ddaeng Cypher Part 5. Finally, Supreme Boi briefly trained as an idol with RM and Suga but decided he'd rather produce for Big Hit. Every so often though, he'll join rap line as he did here. The below are a MUST.

@alice kolton J Hope really did develop a really unique style of rapping that is his own and I totally love it.
The cyphers are featuring 3 rappers of bts: suga, rm, jhope. Each of their verse is colored same with their names in these lyric videos. You can see they have different rap style.
In cyphers pt4, Jhope raps the second part, not Suga. Suga raps the last part.
In my opinion, RM raps with power, Jhope with flexibility, Suga with speed. Suga's verse is also nasty (in a good way 😄)
As a girl, I fell in love with BTS because of their hip pop and heavy stuff. I’m pretty sure every female army loves their heavier songs and lyrics. Looks comes secondary, they’re not loved by females because of the stereotypical stuff the media shows them as. Female fans fell for BTS because of their lyrics. I, as a female, personally fell for their songs like No more dream, N.O., Bulletproof boys pt 1 and 2, Dionysus, persona (rm solo) etc.
edit: I love all their songs but I don’t like hearing stereotypes about what a female song and male style songs sound like. It’s 2020! I love every concept they do. They can pull of any genre and style.

Same. I like the harder songs most of all. I grew up on hip hop and rap and fell in love with their aggressive songs (though I do love the whole discography).
I actually first loved their R&B and Jazzy songs, but as I kept exploring I also became a huge fan of their more raw and heavy stuff. Mic drop and the cyphers are goddly lmao.

his versatility is astounding, his flows and range from playful rap to hard rap is out of this world.
I think the confusion of J-Hope rapping is that he’s not from the underground hip hop community, and he only started to rap after joining BTS (he was a street dancer, so flow is in his veins anyway). However, all 3 are full rappers, and even though J-Hope learned mostly from RM and Suga, he has his own style.
Suga has said he looks up to Eminem.
By the way, they were referring the Korean rappers who rap in English who dissed them, not American rappers. They always show great admiration and respect towards American rappers who have influenced them.

tbh honest this guy is starting to irk me. I get really tired of people who are just in it for the views. His intro video to JHope and watching chicken noodle soup mv, he asked a lot of questions about him going solo without the group and things like that. Now he forgets he is a rapper ??? In Cypher 4, you were saying that you would be scared to rap battle suga during j-hope’s part. Am I wrong or did you think that suga was rapping then? lol anyways, I love how you can see how much j-hope has improved through the years here. He joined bts with no rap experience and has developed his own unique style and sound. You should check out his songs from his mixtape Hopeworld. “Airplane” is a really great one!
Ok i get that you could thought cause of the introductions that J-Hope was just an street dancer who learned how to rap.. but man the dude is a rapper along with RM and SUGAm he also has incredible flow and eat those beats for breakfast, he writes his parts and produce also.. he even has (as you already prob. know) his own mixtape calle HOPE WORLD, so pls do remember that BTS has 3 rappers not 2.

J-Hope needs more recognition here. He is a full fledged member of the rapline, as much as the dance line.
Cypher medley live version is what made me realize their live performances are better than any studio versions or MVs because it’s when I first enjoyed BTS without wishing I knew what they were saying or what the videos meant. I just enjoyed watching and enjoying their performance.
Also, the cyphers and mic drop sound like they’re flexing and being coc*y, but it’s their way of addressing all their haters. They’re not bragging for no reason nor is it for the general audience. They don’t talk back or use media to continue any drama other hip hop artists start when they continually try to bring down BTS and delegitimize their hip hop background and skill. They just write and rap about it.

I love all the three rappers though ..
there are alot more guys who are fans of them than you think (myself included). honestly, I started liking them for their music first and foremost. as you learn more, you'll see that the majority of their music is just plain good and not particularly geared towards one gender or the other. sure, they dance and dress well, but that's kinda what comes with being an idol in the industry. dig deeper, and you'll really see the quality of their music.
after I devoured their entire discography, I just wanted to learn who was who. as all armys know, this slingshot me down the rabbit hole. now, they feel like the brothers I never new I needed, and being apart of the army community feels like a big family. open your eyes just a little bit more, and you'll get there.
All three of them are rappers... jhope doesn't rap a little bit he's part of the rapline too. He works hard in his rap too :)

The reason Cypher appeals to female audience as well is because they are answering back to the haters, but there's no demeaning lyrics there! A lot of aggressive raps are so blatantly sexist and insulting with toxic cursing that it puts off a lot of women listeners! I never listened to Rap song until BTS!

these cyphers were meant for their haters. like the hawaii reference that was aimed at a rapper named B-free who was originally from hawaii. B-free put the rapline down when they were at a public evenet. BTS are known to not make a scene... they put that anger into their work.

I am a 55 and I HATE todays rap and hip hop. It is noise and it gets on my nerves. I love to hear BTS rap because they are not degrading women, not talking about sex, not talking gangsta stuff. I Love it. I can listen to their rap music all day. It reminds me of the 80's and 90's and you know that's when hip hop and rap was good. My favorite cyphers are 2, 3, 4. Then comes Ddang then comes Outro Tear. Oh you really should do the live versions of the cypher Medly. It will change your life!

Please react to J Hope's solo work. He is the lead rapper and is known to have the best, and most diverse flow in bts. He may have started off as a street dancer, but he taught himself how to rap with the help of RM and Suga.

This reaction had me a little conflicted. I enjoyed it overall and you made a lot of points I fully agree with and 4 is also my favorite with Ddaeng being the superior Cypher. I appreciate how much you enjoy the music and their diversity and the lyrics and everything. You genuinely enjoy their music/message and thats super awesome.
But the way you dismissed J-hope as one of the 3 main rappers throughout this whole video was a bit hard to take. J-hope is a *rapper* who can be a vocalist or do vocals but all the rappers can. BTS has always had 3 *main* rappers. It used to have 4 rappers with Jungkook who used to Rap and is now a vocalist [He still raps sometimes and I'd personally like to see more of it but thats besides the point]. But J-Hope, RM and Suga have ALWAYS been the 3 main rappers of the group. Yeah, he does have good vocals don't get me wrong but he's a rapper *first* .
I mean, yeah, RM and Suga have been doing it longer but J-Hope has worked hard and trained with RM and Suga for years to be as good as he is. And he is so good.
Though, I don't mean it made me angry or anything like that. Just more a sensation of wanting to lightly shake someone. 😂

What got me into BTS was their amazing production and hiphop influences. I love the rapline and all of their styles and how they mesh it in with every genre and they pull it off. You talk about putting stereotypes on people but it's weird to think that girls wouldn't be into aggressive hiphop, i am a metalhead and i really got into hiphop a few years ago and then slowly got into kpop because of their hiphop aspects and production quality. I find it so funny that people think everyone's in it for the charms

okay now i gotta educate you. jhope is the rapline himself. rapline consists of 3 members. rm, suga, and jhope. jhope taught himself rap, remember? and he has become the rapline ever since. those 3 rapline is an underground rapper so yeah, these dissing is something they play with all the time.
jhope might not come as harsh as rm and suga but his rap is very diff. he hits deep while rm and suga is more straightforward. and he said it's not his style to curse (🤔maybe) in his mixtape. so that's why it's like that. hwever, his rap hit so deep your blood get clogged and die😍
Suga doesn't scares me, lmao, he is almost always so sweet. I mean he is deep and serious a lot of times, but he is also very soft, I hope that you will watch a compilation of him being just adorable soon (there is a lot of videos about this, so choose whatever, haha).

DT, so glad you've been initiated into the Cypher stage of your ARMY journey! 😎 A few pointers:
1. As a lot of the commenters are noting, sometimes you mistook one rapper for another. That's ok; you've just barely met them. But know that when you said Suga scares you, it was actually jhope ☺
2. You've *gotta* watch the live performance of the Cypher Medley. Not to be missed.
3. We also recommend Ddaeng, which is like the unofficial 5th cypher. Don't watch it without watching the "Ddaeng explained by a Korean" vid tho.
4. Aggressive sound: There are plenty of others in their discography - a fan favorite is Outro: Tear (another must see live performance) - and especially in RM and Suga/Agust D's solo work.
5. Finally, the Cyphers are definitely a record of their maturation and dealings with fame and hate. Cypher 4 is my favorite not only due to the beat but also because it was their triumph over hate; realizing the best thing to tell a hater is to love themselves.
BTS has such a diverse fanbase because they have so many different sounds, intriguing all genders and ages with different songs.

The thing is, he already reacted to introduction videos and j-hope’s MVs he should have an idea by now that Hobi is a rapper. He does not rap just a little. and literally that’s j-hope in the image he’s calling Suga. I would have understood if this was his first ever or second bts video. I can’t accept the disrespect to j-hope’s talent and years of hard work. :/

Umm..BTS has THREE rappers consisting RM, SUGA and JHOPE. The one rapping the second part in Cypher part 4 is JHOPE not SUGA. I actually expected you to realise it by the end of the video because their names are there on the screen..
