I have a lot of respect for RM and the leadership qualities that he has. He seems like he really wants to make a positive difference in the world. I love how he has earned the respect from the other members by the example he sets. He's a great role model for lots of young men and women.

While yes i believe he could be successful at anything he wants to do later in life, I really feel his heart and passion are more in the direction of global warming and conservation. He has mentioned many times things that he believes we need to be doing to save this world we all call home, and to save the wildlife species of the world, habitats ect... I know I will support whatever he does, although of course if he goes into politics I cant help him alot since I live in the US and I am not Korean, but I would follow him and support him with kind words and support his world causes.

This is one thing I like about RM, he is so responsible and as a leader, he has a lot behind his back and he never gave his responsibilities up, beside he is doing it doubled than what we are expected and the members are always there to support him (or each other especially) Jungkook. Jungkook really looks at RM as his first and final role model. He really admire him although he also admire the others but RM is different.
And other thing about RM, he really holds everything so professionally. Before, when the time that the members really dont understand English, he translate the good comments for them but the negative comments, he kept him to himself so the members dont feel disappointed or down. So they dont get affected by those comments. He just making a suggestions to make them better based on the comments he had seen.
I really do salute his leadership.

I remember him saying that he wasn't sure if he was meant to be a leader and theres a lot of burden with the role, especially since he's such a sensitive guy. But I just love that he chooses to step up and do his best, as it turns out he is actually an amazing leader. Many people doubt themselves but don't realise what they're capable of. BTS always work hard to make their weaknesses into their strengths, thats why they're incredible.

Rm' speech made an impact in my life. I remembered how I cried when the first time I watched the UN speech. And my Mom said that Rm has a good speaking voice. I'm so proud of our leader💜 he can be a president someday.

RM speech was the most praised in that assembly and he was amazing. RM is also my bias because of his leadership. Watch all of their behind the scenes from AMA 2017, BBMA 2017-2019 and Grammy 2019. The group rely on him, especially when it comes to red carpet interviews. Though, RM is my bias, but I love all of the 7. The boys can be crackheads but they are very humble and kind.

Oh god. I still remember when the whole ARMY twitter were more nervous than BTS/Namjoon. Were all anxious for hours kskksks we're all crying and screaming after his speech. We're like proud parents 😭😂

Jungkook did a Vlive later and talked about how overwhelmingly proud of his big brother he was. It was really sweet.
Love seeing this behind the scene again. Just to let you know that the each speaker was given maximum of 3 or 4 minutes of speech time & will usually be reminded to end their speech within the time frame given. In RM's case, his speech took almost 7 minutes & it's really amazing that night when we saw people in the room were so engaged in his speech & nobody try to remind him to shorten his speech at all. I think everyone in that room wanted more from him. Could you even imagine how proud ARMYs were that night. We all cried our portion of tears. Love them so much!
That wasn't the whole speech by the way it was a lot longer than that. It was edited, you should check it out. Jungkooks smile gets me in this video, he's said countless times that namjoon is the reason he joined bts and that namjoon is his first and last role model. You can see in that close up shot where jungkook is trying to read namjoo speech that hes so proud of his big brother. He looks up to namjoon so much I cant imagine how emotional that all was for them watching their leader do that, the pride in all their faces made me cry and how namjoons hand was shaking when he lifted his paper but held a steady voice.

One of the (many, many) things I love about RM is that he inspires us to be better, while still being relatable. He loses his AirPods, his hands shake while giving a speech, he gets shy when he is complimented. And yet, he shines. He doesn't come off as larger than life, but as someone who is simply kind, thoughtful and genuine. It makes you feel like the better world he envisions is attainable, not just a dream. He just sees the world differently and, through his music, words and actions,we see it too. A true leader.
*This speech was 5 MINUTES long.* And no one feels the need to interrupt him with his beautiful speech. And yes He’s our President. We call him Mr. President and he knows it. 💜💜

Can't agree more...😊💜 there are so many things we can be very proud and thankful of our beautiful leader RM.. but just a small clarification, RM is 4th in order from oldest to youngest.. even though him and Hobi were both 94 liners, Hope was born February and RM in September making him the maknae in the Hyung line...💜

No matter how many times I hear RM's speech, I still get chills and get teary eyed and get inspired every time. Love how you reacted to this, I wish many others would too. It shows who he is and who BTS are and what their message to not just the ARMY but the hopeful message they want to share with and inspire the world.

i was driving to my morning class when he gave the un speech, i parked and watched the rest and cried, then i went to class with so many emotions, it was crazy, but that is the bts effect, army is our main lifestyle within our "lifestyle". i feel like politics is too messy for rm. not saying that he couldnt, but his personality is more layed back not too fussy or pressure based. hes extremely smart and i feel like he can make some great moves as a politician but i feel like the corruption would hurt joons soul like he wouldnt be down to get in the mix..idk. this was one of their bangtan bombs,not the actual un speech. it's like a behind the scenes of bts. they have a lot of content on their youtube channel bangtantv, sorry a lot arent subbed but there are fans who sub their bombs like the one you were reacting to. thanks for the reaction!
BTS is a living legend. And I'm so happy that I lived in their era, and watched them become influential to the world in very positive way. Especially for the youth.
The speech was 7 minutes. RM has done a great job. Some people may think he was on his own as speech and his idea. This is untrue, It was all of BTS. They have the Love Yourself, Speak yourself campaign they are doing with Unicief
I TOTALLY feel you about KNJ's "IT" factor. He is wise beyond his years. An old soul. Very thoughtful and well spoken. He has a way of looking at things... especially for someone so young.
And I've been saying that after he's done with his music career - he definitely should go into politics. He needs to be in a leadership role.

RM definitely has a certain charisma that causes me to look at him in a way I don't look at the others. All 7 have a different vibe and, to me, RM is an unmistakable leader. He is the kind that doesn't ask to be followed yet WILL be followed. His entire persona screams authority, the type that others gratefully accept because they know he won't abuse it. I love him so.💜💜💜
FYI: The BTS "Episodes" are always behind-the-scene videos of events that were very important for BTS. They don't show the actual event. We have similar episodes of their times at the Billboard Music Awards or Grammys, for example. (That's why the "interviews" were done during the hairblowing - they're just being filmed by their staff while they're doing what they have to do on that particular day.)

RM is our president! The UN has a live feed, and Armys all over the world had the chance to listen to the speech live! We were so proud of him, and this accomplishment! Army does work all over the world for different charities, we have counselors on call that speak in many languages, for the Army that needs someone to listen and advise them, no matter where they are from, and so much other stuff locally and globally.

As many already said in the comments, it was not the full speech. So inspiring as usual from our president Namjun.
Just for the info, about the private plane and "leaving large", unfortunately it was not totally by choise: it is said that they still wanted to use normal planes but because of many crazy fans (sasaengs) who managed to book the same planes and sit next to them, the BTS members could not relax and rest in planes anymore.
I love how loving they are to one another. Noone ever feels left out and as a leader he genuinely cares for his brothers not just in front of the cameras. Aren’t related by blood but they are that close. It pains me to see how people can disrespect them just because they don’t like Kpop🙄🥱 But anyways “You nice keep going”-Jimin

-RM prepared the speech during their Love Yourself tour. It looked like they received the invitation before they started it.
-When they flew to NY for UN, JK won the raffle for the best seat on the jet (yes, they are raffle the seat until now). But he gave it to RM, so that he could slept well.
-The speech became history now.

RM is the pride of ARMY! If you knew all the things he did to keep BTS together. He's so smart and always caring for the rest of the members. Whenever they are here in US RM is the one who has more job to do and the members knows that and appreciate. At this point they are like brothers, that's why you can feel that good vibe coming from all of them. You don't see that jealousy like in other groups.
RM is one of the fascinating person in the world in my opinion 💜
dt thanks for taking time to listen to bts at the un general assembly. I am a retired teacher and had spent time with young people mostly girls between the ages of 16 to 21. they have a lot of things to ask, to say and to share. bts is speaking of young of the world. rm is the right person. he knows the journey of each member. they are not privileged kids of South Korea. they worked hard to realize their dreams.

Anyway, I remember waking up early to watch this and eventually tears streaming down my dace while eating oatmeal for breakfast. His words hit home and I respect him so much. RM has admitted to wanting to be a writer at one point. I hope he later publishes his thoughts as a member and leader of BTS.
He is such a great speaker, his speech are always so good and meaningful, one of the reasons why I love this band and all members.
Sometimes, Army call our leader, President Namjoon. And our maknae, Jungkook, is called Golden Maknae for a reason. We are very proud of all of our Bangtan boys. Likewise, we do everything we can to make them proud of Army,too.

I agree with you DT, that RM & BTS doesn't have to do it... bcause they are already Superstar around the world. But all I can say that BTS is a unique KPOP group they take responsibility and a role model to all the ARMY'S around the world. And that's why its not only teens who loves and adore BTS, but also the Parents, Grand Parents, Teachers, Philosopher loves, adore and respect the BTS. That's why RM & group understand that they are responsible for their actions & decisions that they share to the ARMY'S around the world. And I am thankful that RM is a good and great leader to BTS. In the beginning of the video Suga spoke about the influence of ARMY and I'm learning more and more about that. Interestingly, because of RM's speech, a group of Jungians on the web started discussing and analyzing BTS... This was before Map of the Soul. They were seriously impressed and the discussion is still ongoing. They've been interviewing ARMY members and bringing them into their discussion forums and that's how I found out about the ARMY Help Center. This is a loosely associated international group of volunteer ARMYs who operate a call center where people can call to get help. This is the only resource for some populations of women who can get counseling and advice from someone who speaks their language.
i watched a show that someone who can read face. and she said RM has the best face among other idols cuz he can succeed in every field. and can be the next CEO of bighit ent. if RM wants to become a businessman he will be the successful one. if he wants to go to politics, he will be in a high position.
Please look at the full speech! He has such a gift, a way of speaking that holds your attention. To see behinds the scenes is great. He receives so much love and support when creating a speech of such magnitude. I still hold on to things that were said from that speech that are important and meaningful to me.
Big props for BigHit ceo Bang and his staff who was able to recognise the talent and sincerity in RM right off the bat and decided to build a group around him... the world is seriously lucky!
He stood out for me too since day one. He is the backbone of BTS.
I don't usually watch the UN General Assembly but that year I watched a lot of it. There were great speeches. BTS being there was a HUGE deal. They sat next to South Korea first lady, President Moon's wife. BTW President Moon often speaks highly of BTS and is super proud of them. Also, on this day the World Bank (now former) President Kim Jim Yong was so excited that they were there. He even took a picture with them literally right after RM finished his speech. When you finish watching the actual speech, you can see him. I swear he looked like a fanboy, just so happy and proud.
