DJI pulls this blunder over and over. They need to learn that people decide not to buy their products because of this continual BS. There's no excuse for it; it's the same protocol. The other blunder is not putting a video input (especially a 3-D-capable one) on them. Think of all the cool things you could use them for if they did. But year after year, DJI doesn't do that. Dumb.
It's nice to see how excited you are about the new goggles, the price tag is obviously a big plus and it connects to the drone in the same way as the more expensive goggles.
Once again, Russ, superb video. You’re the only one that mentioned that it’s a single lens and not two lenses which actually sold me on buying this concept. I can definitely see why you liked it so much not having to adjust the diopter. Keep up the good work. Hope the wife is doing better.
I would think the ideal placement for the USB connection is the bottom. Like with my integra's i can charge them while I fly if i want to fly longer by attaching a battery with usb and keep it in my pocket. IDK? just my opinion. $229 is a competitive price. With Caddx's Goggles L at $199 it's very competitive. Will it work with O3 though??? and with the new O4 ?
Great job with the review. I felt it a little weak on your comments about wearing glasses underneath them. The best reviews for doing that were of course the FXT Viper 2.0 but you can't find them in the US now and it cost more to ship them here than the googles cost. So shipping from China? No an option. I would fear for my money just sending it there without a way to dispute them having it and never shipping anything is scary. And anyone that has a pair of Vipers are not selling them on eBay either. I bet even used ones will go up in price. Just wondering more about how you felt about the N3s for use with glasses underneath. Could you elaborate just a bit more. I know some box goggles will allow glasses underneath if the frames are small, but are not that comfortable very long because of pressure points from the frame. Thanks for you or anyone else who replies...
I occasionally use reading glasses...since I noticed in the video that you mentioned them. I'm wondering if you used them when testing since you use reading glasses, thanks
The NEO is an awesome piece of gear. At its price point limit your expectations. Would like DJI to add "Camera" with timed shots, say 5 Sec & 10 Sec intervals to ALL 6 of the NEO preset shooting modes. At present think only the "Spotlight mode" mode offers timed photos. Recognize that drone capture has been prioritized towards Videographers. Only offering the "Video" Camera Mode is a bit limiting. Primarily a Still photographer. With my Mavic 3 have captured some amazing stills. NEO Camera will have to wait for the NEO Pro so don’t big deal it. Simple an limited Camera/Still settings should be an easy add.
Rokid max try this as much butter and you can use it for way more stuff.I don't like my facing stuff in the f p v as much so I recommend this is much better and it's one 120hz
Great review! It would be nice if DJI would offer the Avata 2 with the option of which googles to order it with. Would knock a couple hundred off of the current price of around $100 from most drone retailers. If you are purchasing to fly the Neo you still will need to spend the $100 for the hand controller.
Odd question, but if you close either eye can you still see the entire screen? I only have vision in my left eye and while the Goggles 3 work OK for me, I can never see the entire screen clearly, no matter how I adjust. Some part is always either obscured or blurry. It sounds like this model might be the answer.
I liked. How would you compare these to the original/first white dji goggles for vield of view. The original version 1 white for the mavic was said to be like looking at a 217in tv as stated by DJI themselves back in the day. Looking to replace mine but no one has mentioned the fov from these new goggles? Thanks
@@TechInspected Hi there, 54 degrees doesn't help as I don't know what the originals were. Have you ever used the original Goggle in black or white? If so, how would you compare the size of the screen? Like I said, DJI said it was like looking at a 217-inch TV from around 5 to 8 feet away.
@123thedman1 size of screen from x away is not a good way to determine screen size for an HMD. The Goggles 3 has a 44 degree FOV. FOV is a practical and useful measurement of effective screen size in an HMD. If you put a protractor on one eye and put a marker on a 54 degree wide area then that's the size of the display. No, I haven't used any of the recent Goggles, (except a short use of the original white DJI Goggles) but I have some experience with VR and AR head displays. Of course, FOV can't tell you other things like color accuracy, etc. But its a good way to tell how big the screen will look.

I have been able to get the goggles 3 to work for me as best that can be expected but I do wear glasses and it would be nice to be 100% focused instead of having to find something that "works enough" that I can fly. By the looks of the viewers in the googles its still split even though its not a separate screen which would probably negate me from being able to see the full screen. I equate it similarly to the Dronemask. I could see about 85% of the screen except around the nasal portion. I wish I could try before I buy. The price is right though.
I have same predicament and installed a corrective lens in the G3 which greatly improves clarity/focus. (Diopter +2.75 is well outside the G3 range.) My only issue is I can't seem to adjust so the entire screen is visible and focused at the same time. I sometimes have to fiddle with them to see something in the edges. Doesn't affect flying so much, mostly the menus and setting up. I wonder too: can we view the entire G-N3 screen with one eye?
@edkessel3599 you'd be mistaken, I fly the V2 goggles everyday, they are 120Hz. I own the G3, at 100hz and still prefer the older goggles. When 04 releases, I'll switch to G3, but I refuse to go back to 60hz...I smashed the shit out of a quad yesterday, because it was on 60hz Polar camera...and I'll be rebuilt with 04. Keep in mind I run my own drone shop, so I get to have all the goggles and pick and choose the best for FPV based on my experience, not by what DJI reviewers tell you on release day 👌
Rokid max you could use It to play video games. You can use the flyer drone. You could use it for work on your pc. You work it on your phone. It's much better than buying that goggles. Why? Because I personally had it FBV DJI and I did suffer for emotion sickness. And the fact that's not in case all in your eyes makes it better and the fact did you get to take out the lens? And now you don't even need a spider because you can actually see the screen and fly at the same time. Way better product than that

Thanks for the review Russ. But, I’m starting to get REAL tired of DJI falling into the way Apple does their products. Trying to keep up with all this will bankrupt us.
Those goggs are NOT top of the line, those are new entry Level goggles for NEO which compability ends on Avata 2. Next week i buy Avata fmc and dont care for DJI sellers called yourubers

The main thing stopping me in the U.S. from getting goggles is the line of sight requirement. I don’t care how you do it for your videos, Russ, but isn’t it true that you are supposed to have a visual observer if you fly with goggles? If that is the case, then I will continue to pass.

The Goggles N3 are 269 euro, which comes to about 285 dollar…..
🤷🏻♂️ Not sure what to tell ya
They are out of stock already
Not out of stock. Just not available yet.
Affiliate link shows up on screen and blocks the CC. Not worth watching
I hope they release it soon before the MAGA tariffs tax starts. Just 4 more years of stupid and FPV to take my mind off EVERYTHING.
This reminds me of v2 with G2 aesthetics. So are they linear polarized like the G2 and G3
Agreed! 💯 🤦😮💨
Thanks for the review Russ. But, I’m starting to get REAL tired of DJI falling into the way Apple does their products.
It’s to the point now, EVERY time DJI comes out with the “new thing”, you HAVE to buy, wait for it…ANOTHER new thing !
I just bought the Avata 2 fly more and what do they do ? Come out with the baby Avata 2, NEO ! C’mon, they even LOOK the same ! What did the Avata 2 have ??? The top of the line goggles 3 !!
And now, what do they come out with ?? You guessed it, ANOTHER “top of the line” goggle ! And they look like old Fat Shark goggles from 10 years ago !
Sorry for the rant but, IDK about other flyers but, I’M burning out !
Trying to keep up with all this will bankrupt us.
You don't have to buy every new thing though.
Those goggs are NOT top of the line, those are new entry Level goggles for NEO which compability ends on Avata 2.
Next week i buy Avata fmc and dont care for DJI sellers called yourubers
Trump 2024!!
Cheaper as it half the quality but double the size
Think you missed the point of the expensive goggles
You down graded the idea of the eye lenses
To have a chance of using your own optics and once set up it’s not binoculars it’s a perfect screen .
Obviously your new to the hobby with little experience of model flying
You didn’t mention it’s ideal of new flyers like yourself
😆
60fps no thanks
you need 50hz for 50fps videos? :)
Who would feel down about the election? We just made America great again!
Agree. I’m not sad at all. Russ I love your content, please don’t do anything stupid. We need you and your content. Don’t worry, poppy is back.
It’s always amazing you yanks think someone who has been bankrupt 3 times and who couldn’t figure out how to close an umbrella is going to doing anything than send merika down the gurgler again. Will be hilarious to watch tho. Go merika!
where "America" = China & Russia
The main thing stopping me in the U.S. from getting goggles is the line of sight requirement. I don’t care how you do it for your videos, Russ, but isn’t it true that you are supposed to have a visual observer if you fly with goggles? If that is the case, then I will continue to pass.
It’s good to be a follower of rules. . . for most things. 😊
Karen's corner is another youtube channel you might be more happy with. Cheers
Absolute nonsense 😂
Why?
I have a DJI Mini 2 will the N3 goggles work with this drone?
