Goes to show that you can't depend upon someone else's opinion to make you happy, and they said that RE6 sucks. I playing that game right now and I'm enjoying it. I know it wasn't scary but it's not bad.
RE6 is not as hated as the public thinks. Hell, all the controversy and shit just gets RE6 a 70% on average from user votes. I've played the game, and even though there are a couple of flaws, I still enjoyed it. Besides, Leon and Ada's campaigns are the closest to that Resident Evil atmosphere as you can get. It's OK to love a game despite its flaws. There are plenty of games I love that have major problems to them (such as Final Fight Streetwise, yes I am guilty as charged for loving it). Hell, a lot of games people love have problems to them. For example, Starcraft was loaded with dozens of glitches that caused the game to freeze (try having an SCV repair a unit that's going into a dropship). Also, Soul Calibur 4 doesn't count sword slashes that go through heads as a hit. Part of being a gamer is realising that you can enjoy games based on their merits alone, and that just because a game didn't live up to the hype doesn't mean that it's not fun. Besides, if the Resident Evil franchise did nothing but carry on sticking to the old Alone in the Dark-esque gameplay engine with no improvements instead of switching over to the over-the-shoulder third-person shooter formula, Capcom would've been slagged off for not moving on anyway. You know, you just can't win them all every time, and I get the feeling that gamers have high standards, sometimes *WAY TOO HIGH* for their favourite franchises to meet. Just saying.
Jake is the one RE protagonist who is actually superhuman yet has no real and clear explanation for why that is. 1. He has decidedly superhuman reflexes that, while not nearly as insane as Wesker's was, is still at a level that would make one wonder if he was infected with a virus or had gene therapy done on him. 2. His learning ability is.... not normal. Just to clarify... No. It's not at all normal to fluently learn to read and speak Chinese from pure observation alone... and that was while he was confined and had limited samples to work from... which means that he filled in the blanks himself... Let that sink in. 3. Oh, he was already immune to a virus that he'd never been exposed to before on top of it being less than a few years old at most. That meant that he was already naturally immune with no clear explanation why. Wesker's abilities were only achieved at the end of RE1 offscreen, so unless the abilities Jake displayed were what Wesker's were pre Tyrant impaling, then there's no reason to even assume that he 'inherited' them from his jerkeass dad. 4. He may not necessarily have outright super strength or healing, but the guy has been shown not only to tank damage to levels unheard for a regular human, but he outright outpunches the Ustanak.... Y'know, the C-virus knockoff Nemesis? All while showing very little exhaustion or fatigue. That or he recovers stamina insanely fast. Jake needs to show up in another game. Food for thought though. If the C-virus was made using some of the T-Veronica and G-viruses, then would that potentially make him natively immune to both constituent viruses? The T-virus I get since at least 10% of any given population should be naturally immune, but I've never heard of any cases where someone was just straight up immune to the G-virus.... And Sherry doesn't count.
Game sold at least 10 millions. Which is more than entire Silent hill+Amnesia franchise. I think you have problems with the mean of the word"underrated".
Not underrated, unpopular due to straying so far from what made RE, RE. Less immersive with creepy and scary elements compared to most RE. Despite all this, can be a fun game sure.

Funny story: I was playing this game with my cousin. And the way the controllers were set up, you had to aim your gun in order to fire it. Otherwise, you just did melee attacks. So at 32:00, when those doors opened up and the zombies charged in, I went from zero to Bruce Lee and roundhoused the fuck out of them. LOL Great times!

I love that you finally don't have to babysit anyone! And the colors aren't based on an unnatural color pallet. But there was something about RE5 that I loved. Maybe it was the sunlight.
RE5 had a weird filter but I think the game is very enjoyable like RE4. It's basically the same gameplay but with an AI partner that burns your ammo, fast.
I loved RE4 and 5 but never played this due to the average reviews. I'm more into slower-paced horror in RE than action, but this still looks like so much fun!

People who hate on this game and the 5th....... i understand your point in a way, but i think EVERYTHING with games is your age. By this, i mean i'm an old fart in gaming terms lol..... I'm 42. memories of old gaming for me is the ZX Spectrum and the original NES launch in the UK..... That was amazing in my memory. Now when it comes to RE, i remember the first time i played it on the PS1. That day was brilliant because i had Alien Trilogy, Fade to Black and RE. Now Resident Evil was game changing...... It was one of those games that made it worth owning a PS1. The acting was shocking, but the atmosphere, weapon and man management, the clues and backtracking...... fighting ANYTHING was really a last resort. RE2 and RE3 carried this on..... the way the game played and felt. So too anyone of my age and a little younger, you will find we prefer the isometric, horror survival and having to make each round count. Now iv'e just recently played through RE4 and RE5 on my Series X. Graphically they hold up OK, the plot and atmosphere was good.... but 4 was a very ''Arcade Shooter'' feel and 5 was just over the top, fun but over the top. However, the thing i hated in 5 was Sheva..... damn that bitch was annoying, using first aid spray or herbs when there was no need for it, constantly saying ''OK'' and ''Thanks'' or ''Roger'' when she was following an order, most the time i wanted too shoot HER in the face with an RPG. I just finished it and i enjoyed it.... I have RE6 downloading now, i just hope it isn't quite as annoying as 5 was. I have enjoyed every RE iv'e played, but i would love a brand new story that is made like the first couple games, maybe with an option to play the campaign as survival horror or more arcade style, just to give others a choice at how they like their games to be. Horror and tactical all the way for me, if i want a zombie arcade shooter, i'll load up CoD.

So they slapped the franchise tag on it and threw in a few easter eggs but it still doesn't feel like RE. Certainly a good survival horror but not a good RE game. RE8 is better than 7 but it still fails in many ways. 4 for example is a masterpiece because they immerse you into the Spanish rural culture so well. 8 didn't even get the Romanian names right and everyone spoke in English with shitty accents. RE6 is a masterpiece because it gave you 4 campaigns with iconic RE characters and all were different styles of Survival Horror. And yes their are many types of Survival Horror. People would have appreciated 6 way more if they actually even knew what the series is about. I'll give you a hint it's not a series of zombie shooters with in depth, clever puzzles. And it's always fell to the action end of the Action/Adventure spectrum. 2 just upped it, as did, 3, then 4 and so on. I hope 9 does what 7 and 8 failed to do: continue the actually fucking story arc that EVERY RE game did except 7 and 8. Truth is it's your opinion that 6 is trash because you have no idea what RE is even about. There's a damn good reason that old school RE players that have been playing since 1 didn't like 7. So maybe go back and play the first 3 games, read the documents and pay attention to what the hell is going on and I doubt you'll think 6 is trash anymore. This was actually my first resident evil game
Ada campaign was my favorite.
Well, to be fair, hers was definitely the least worst campaign, that's true. I do rather lament the fact that Capcom don't seem to be able to get around to giving Ada her own full game though...

Leon's campaign final boss fight is completely game assisted after the first lightning rod that's pretty much it for the fight. 🤔 Your character can take it easy and chill the whole rest of the way
