From the first three seasons: - 5 o'clock Charlie - Trial of Henry Blake - Tuttle - Deal Me Out - Divided We Stand - I Hate A Mystery - Love Story - RIngbanger - Cowboy Then some from seasons 4-5: - The Bus - Novacaine Mutiny - Bug out Three episodes are very emotional for me & I cannot rank them: 1. Abyssinia, Henry 2. Good Bye, Radar 3. Goodbye, Farewell and Amen
Episodes with Sydney in them are generally top notch. I love the Captain Pak and Colonel Flagg episodes too. Hence, Quo Vadis, Captain Chandler? and Deal Me Out are very high on my list. Two other standouts: Old Soldiers and Period of Adjustment.
Yes, that jabbed me as well. While I understand a desire to speak properly(I always say zero in regular conversation, not o), this is a very different situation. In my mind, not calling it the 4 o 77 is like admitting you've never seen the show or have only seen an episode or two. Sadly, I saw a far worse TH-cam video on M*A*S*H that got so much wrong it felt intentional.
My favorites The Trapper Henry era: Deal Me Out.This one has John Ritter As well as Allen Arbus as Sydney and Ed Winter who is Capt.Hallorran which becomes Col.Flagg later on and Pat Morita as Capt Pak. Then the Potter BJ Frank era Bug Out a 2 parter. The Potter BJ Charles era The Smell of Music. MASH will always be my favorite show
My favourite episode is the Christmas-Episode when B.J tried to bring a deadly wounded soldier over midnight, to prevent that Christmas will be the date of fathers death for the child of the soldier. He didn't manage it and Hawkeye take the clock after midnight. So he did it! The greatest scene of humanity in my opinion.
The series finale was my favorite. Watched on my b/w TV because that's all I had. I even saved the TV Guide Issue with it on the cover. I was living in Houston Tx at the time.
I can't pick just 1, so here is my top 10: 1. Deal Me Out 2. The Incubator 3. Private Charles Lamb 4. A Full, Rich Day 5. Adam's Ribs 6. To Market, To Market 7. Yankee Doodle Doctor 8. The General Flipped at Dawn 9. Tuttle 10. Abyssinia, Henry (this might have been my #1, had Henry made it home safely)
Without letting nostalgia cloud my judgement, television was a much more intimate experience before cable, and now the internet. There were the three major networks, and PBS which was on UHF along with other public access networks. In the early 70s there were about a dozen shows being produced, and the summers were usually filled with reruns. It’s amazing that today when there are literally thousands of new shows available, how some of the old shows still remain relevant and popular.
I loved Army-Navy Game because all the mishaps that happened weren’t caused by Hawkeye or Trapper especially the unexploded shell that landed in the middle of the compound.
My Top 2 episodes were the one where Charles donates the candy anonymously to the orphanage on Christmas and When Klinger saw the Ghost of the dead soldier
There is an episode when Frank brings in a Sherman tank to the 4077th and he runs over and accidentally crushes Col. Potters jeep. Col. Potter then takes out his .45 pistol and shoots the jeep putting it out of it's misery.
There are so many episodes that I love, it's hard to choose a specific one. One episode I initially thought was real was one where they were being interviewed by a reporter. It was in black and white. At the time, I thought it was a real interview.
No Sweat was the funniest. Guerilla My Dreams was memorable because of Mako. The episode with Col. Flagg and that other intelligence officer was also excellent
One of my favorites has to be Movie Night when the entire cast breaks into song The General Flipped at Dawn and Old Soldiers cause I love Col Potter Private Charles Lamb- "I gave a pass to a LAMB?!"
l love MASH I grew up on it and is still my favorite sit-com to this day. My favorite episode is actually two "Adams Ribs" and "The Novocaine Mutiny" the latter episode for the fact that it has my favorite quote from the presiding officer about Captain "Hawkeye" Pierce when he said "Lord knows l wouldn't want to lead a company of 'Pierce's' in battle, but l sure as Hell would want him around when that battle was over."
I have so many episodes I love, naming 1 would be hard. I have to say it took me a long time to see the last episode, because I was only watching reruns & it seemed I always missed that episode. Mashed ended when I was very little! I was late teens I believe when I finally saw the last episode! But I saw all others 100 times over, because for many years it was used as filler on many channels.
"the general flipped", "deluge", the one where hawkeye, bj, frank, col. potter and radar get stranded when the bus breaks down, "interview" and the one with leslie nielsen playing a gaslit general. funniest moment-- when a visiting general asked col. potter who klinger was, after seeing klinger in a wedding dress. potter's reply, "just the guy who fills in the pot holes, general!" most touching episode-- when charles ananousmly donates chocolate to the orphans at christmas
1 - S9.E5 ∙ Death Takes a Holiday 2 - S11.E1 ∙ Hey, Look Me Over 3 - S1.E17 Sometimes You Hear the Bullet 4 - S7.E23 A Night at Rosie's 5 - S6.E12 Comrades in Arms: Parts 1 & 2 6 - S6.E7 In Love and War 7 - S10.E11 The Birthday Girls

A Full Rich Day which features a beserk Turk, a missing Luxembourg lieutenant and a G.I. who holds the camp at gunpoint in triage, in pre-op and the O/R.

Whenever mash gets mentioned I always automatically think of “house arrest” Not sure why, maybe it sticks in my mind because it’s the first time one cast member uses real violence against another
It would just be nice if once an actor had a good memory of another’s actors abilities on the show. Each one chose their own episodes. And please do not get me wrong, I love MASH. It was just disappointing to see this.
I LOVE Klinger. He's my absolute favorite. He kept it a comedy when Alan Alda tried to turn it into an out and out drama 5:26- Was that a big red bird with fuzzy pink feet?
It burns my ears every time this guy says "four thousand seventy seventh" Obviously he's just reading a script and has no idea what he's talking about.
Yall have a love affair with Alan Alda with several posts on him.. For a page that covers so many liberals I have no idea why you put "facts" in the name... but anyways... I subscribed for the human interest stories from a year ago and farther back. I'd like to see more of that instead of how Star's lived or died. Time travel, bottom of the sea, Man is (topic here), Daughter found (topic here), FBI conspiracy theories... etc etc etc..just a suggestion.

MASH is a great show! Welcome to Korea was my favorite episode.
Great show until it became the Alan Alda show
Hear hear!! That's why for me Season 9 is when it started to Jump The Shark.
My knee-jerk reaction is "Tuttle", but "38 Across" was one hell of an episode.
Oh yeah Vontz

Mash was one of best sitcoms of 1970s , they were completely unique and there is sitcom like mash who come after mash ended.

No Sweat was the funniest. Guerilla My Dreams was memorable because of Mako. The episode with Col. Flagg and that other intelligence officer was also excellent
A Smattering of Intelligence was the second one you mentioned.
A lot of people put Guerilla My Dreams as one of the worst.
