Best financial decisions: paid off my mortgage in 13 years, zero credit card debt, zero student loans, zero car payments, investing in index funds, didn’t marry the wrong person.
Worst financial decision: didn’t start investing sooner

I just sold a property in Portland and I'm thinking to put the cash in stocks, I know everyone is saying its ripe enough, but Is this a good time to buy stocks? How long until a full recovery? How are other people in the same market raking in over $450k gains with months, I'm really just confused at this point.

Yes, a good number of folks are raking in huge 6 figure gains in this downtrend, but such strategies are mostly successfully executed by folks with in depth market knowledge

A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

Thank you both for being so helpful and vulnerable. Most people come on these podcasts saying how much they are the guru of this and that but never talk about the struggle, the ups and downs, the mistakes. Like starting a business and investing is perfect. Thank you for talking about how poverty and institutional systems affect us. This interview was very refreshing. ** new subbie **

I am happy to hear from someone who has risen from what many will consider a less than ideal situation or background. Financial literacy is one of the most critical aspects of anyone’s life. It’s not only about how much you make, but the decisions you make with it. Thank you very much for this, inaction is the biggest mistake we can make in life.

Another excellent video and conversation. I recently become a subscriber and have been binge-watching and loving your content. Could you first elaborate on why you choose a Roth 401(k) rather than a business 401(k)? I had always assumed that it was preferable to start with conventional since, as I understood it, there is no true tax benefit until you made over $125,000. Unless you've already talked about it in an other video? Connection?

My parents both grew up during the Great Depression, therefore I was raised with their frugal ways. Even though I am a multimillionaire with no debt, I try to wash and reuse plastic bags and reuse aluminum foil. Look at her. It's easy to say that *Layan Talia Chokr* assists with early retirement, planning, and finances.

Layan has the appearance of being a great authority in her profession. I looked her up online and found her website, which I reviewed and went through to learn more about her credentials, academic background, and employment. She has a fiduciary duty to protect my best interests. I sent her an email outlining my objectives and also booked a session with her; thanks for sharing.

"Can I trust myself, my parents" NOPE. A hard lesson I learned is my parents, specifically my mom, is more concerned about her fears, her anxieties, her understanding, than my success. So I stopped telling her about the risks I'm taking and the supposed problems associated with those risks. You dont need the feedback that's the antithesis of what you're trying to build.
Best financial decision I made, starting a business. Worst financial decision I've made as a man, getting married.

Don't because when it crashes (it definitely will) you may not have enough time for it to recover.

Best financial decision: Investing in myself through my employer by using available resources, ie tuition reimbursement (MBA and certifications). Worst financial decisions: not saving more and investing sooner.

Ladies be aware filter water in all bathrooms and teeth/ mouth salt in the unfiltered water will not stop it. Filtered only to stay safe is my suggestion. On on the mend but it’s been painful; scary and depressing because I new I had solid hygiene habits (almost obsessive).

Americans are actualy spending more and saving less. It's America we only cut back in pandemics, recessions, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love every channel that allows people to better themselves. However, by definition, not everyone can be rich. You will never be rich doing a 9-5 job unless you are doing what nobody else is capable of or willing to do and get paid very well.
All of the so-called experts are doing their own thing. Some of them got lucky, some of them hustled. The fact is that 90% of businesses fail. So 10% of the entrepreneurs (which my guees is ~2% of the total population), are making it to call themselves rich.
1,1% of the world's population is millionaires, but lets face it, even with 1 million, most of it will be bound by your house/car. So being a millionaire isn't enough remotely enough to drive a lambo.
