he was the first person i ever saw cook food on tv, when i was four years old in 1986. now, at age 41, ive been a restaurant cook myself. and watched tens of thousands of hours of food related programming. I couldnt love the guy more. what a legend.

I was only a toddler to even know who Martin Yan is and recently discovered him and been watching his old cooking episodes. My mom told me my Grandparents used to always watch him on TV.

I remember watching him on KQED when I was younger. You can make a drinking game out of every time he say's "and then..". Loved it when he flew out to China to show off the local eats too.

You the best I love watching his show when I was young I wish you go back on TV. This way I can make some Chinese food I have a little Chinese wok skills in my home. I have a 19,000 BTU burger gas which I think works very well

I learned about him when he appeared on Gordon Ramsays Hells Kitchen show. As I looked him up, I was like “wow, this dude is a real G”. I wish I would’ve known about him in the past. He’s definitely a titan.

It's so diverse in San Francisco.
A guy you might meet on the street is a hobo junkie. Ten feet later, a boarded up business. Ten feet after that, a pharmacy with every single thing behind lock and key.

Unfortunately M.Y. Asia in Las Vegas is CLOSED. I believe it was way too expensive and the wrong marketing. His food is so excellent but not accessible for the common man.

Martin seems to be avoiding the media presenter's questions......I wonder why.
In any case I hope his show has really evolved to fit with 21st-Century standards. Like Stephen Yan of Wok With Yan, I now found that this original presentation style is very heavily Asian or Chinese stereotyped during the 70's and 80's. Unacceptable nowadays.
