    The channel is already at over 950 subscribers, that is so crazy!! Thank you so much to everyone that has been watching, commenting, and supporting the channel!
    There is something I just realized (this is 4 days after I uploaded the video) that makes the inverse chaplin more difficult that the regular chaplin. With the regular chaplin, there isn't really such a thing as going too slow, especially if you adjust the size of your circles and the angle of your finger, you can chaplin *incredibly* slowly, which helps when learning. With the inverse chaplin, if you slow down too much, it's really difficult to speed back up again and you can't really compensate by increasing the circle size and angle of your hand until you speed up again, like. you can with a regular chaplin.
    Also, that's a 4th factor to keeping a chaplin spinning that I just realized while typing this comment, the angle of your finger matters, though honestly it only seems to matter when you are doing a regular chaplin *incredibly* slow so I don't think it's something to pay much attention too normally.

    As far as I know, Joff was the first person I heard of that did these "open chaplins" and I first found a clip of andre from squid industries doing them over 20 rotations. Been attempting these for nearly a year and can get 3 rotations if I'm lucky, but totally agree with you the only thing you really need to know is how to chaplin and know that inverse/open chaps are possible.

    • @benshaminflips
      @benshaminflips  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would love to see those clips of them doing the open chaplin! Your comment inspired me to revisit the inverse chaplin and I have been doing them a lot more since then. I will keep this comment brief as I am planning on making a second full length video about the open chaplin including my recent findings, but I will say that while I think the only things anyone really needs to know is how to chaplin and that the inverse is possible, there are more things to think about that can help.
      One thing I will say though is that the more handle biased a balisong is, the easier it will be to do. I recently got the Nabalis Canyon and it is noticeably easier to do on it than the Vulp.
      Thank you for leaving this comment and sparking my revisiting of this topic! I hope my 2nd video will give you some helpful tips to get the trick down

      I dunno if I can send the clips on here but they are on Instagram if you don't already follow them. Late reply, I bet your open chaps are solid af now I'm so glad this channel exists. Practically less than three places I've found on the Internet actually talk about this trick.

    the inverse chaplin has been a thing, but its uncommon like you said ive seen like 1 or two people incorporate into a combo and the furthest amount of spins ive seen someone go for or can do is like 4-5 without incorporation into a combo, great video though and i didn't think zero g was possible with it. one thing I've been thinking about trying recently is a horizontal scissor where i do a helix ariel then do the scissor movement horizontally.

      For sure! Here is 1 of the videos I found while editing this one where someone does an inverse chaplin: th-cam.com/users/shortsLQYNwTy-tU0?feature=share4
      It was actually posted only about a week before my video was posted. He does over 20 continuous rotations, which is really impressive!
      The helix aerial into a horizontal scissor sounds really cool! If you are able to do it, I would love to see a video of you doing it!

      If you keep working on it, you should be able to get it! I am thinking about making a follow up video about inverse chaplins since I have realized a bit more that could help when learning them. Using a more handle biased balisong definitely helps though!

    How do you come up with new ideas? Cuz i want to start a channel like yours. And how do you record you vids.

    • @benshaminflips
      @benshaminflips  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say there are 4 main ways I come up with ideas:
      1. I accidentally do something then figure out how to repeat it.
      2. I think about how trick variation categories can be applied to other existing tricks. What I mean by trick variation categories are things such as inverse, reverse, 0g, vertical, infinity, etc. For example, the 0g chaplin is an existing trick, what if I tried the *inverse* of the 0g chaplin
      3. I sometimes just sit and try to think of a type of trick or combo that would be interesting or is unlike anything I have seen and see if I can do it. This could be trying to include every type of fan I can do into 1 combo, or taking a trick like the ice pick spin, and seeing how many variations I can come up with.
      4. Sometimes I'm flipping and want to get from 1 position to another, but I don't know if a great way to do it. That's a great time to figure out something new and interesting! For example, I want to go from a palm fan right into a regular fan.
      As for recording videos, I am still working on improving my setup, but for now I just record with my phone at 60fps (more frames means more information for viewers to see what my hand and the bali are doing). I sometimes hold the phone and sometimes set it up on a microphone stand. It's not ideal, but it works for now. Just have a lot of lighting so you can see everything and try to keep the balisong in frame and the camera steady! I'm still working on those last two 😅 For more overall TH-cam advice, I highly recommend watching other channels that are dedicated to that kind of stuff, like Channel Makers, VidIQ, Film Booth, Nick Nimmin, etc.
      I hope that helps! Good luck on your channel; I hope to see some of your videos soon!

    Hey I’ve been flipping the vulp for about 2 weeks and it flips amazing at first it was really light but I got used to it. As a beginner I’ve been having trouble keeping the flow in tricks like behind the 8ball do you have a tip for this ? Amazing tutorial btw

    • @benshaminflips
      @benshaminflips  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! I also enjoy flipping the Vulp! Here is a video I specifically made about tips for improving your behind the 8 ball and flipping in general: th-cam.com/video/ih-_mHU1HEg/w-d-xo.html
      Just be aware, I am doing the bt8b incorrectly throughout the video, more about that in the comments section, but the points I give still apply 😁
      Something that helps me with flow is paying attention to where exactly I mess up and *how* I messed up, then thinking about how I can fix it and specifically practicing that movement until I get it down. I talk more about it in that video though!

    I can do a nice inverse chaplin if only one of my CCC’s tang pins is installed. I can’t do it as well on my Canyon or when both the tang pins are installed.

    • @benshaminflips
      @benshaminflips  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure how a tang pin would affect inverse chaplin performance, but that is interesting 🤔
      The Canyon is one of my balisongs that is the easiest to do inverse chaplins on, it is definitely a difficult trick to do though

      Oops, I missed this comment. You may have already learned these, but the behind the 8 ball, cherrypicker, and full twirl are all really good ones to learn around the time of the helix I would say.
