I think this is purely a personal choice. Here's my ten cents: I have lefties on my 2014 Scalpel 29 and my circa 2013 Flash 29. They have a lot of hard off road/mountain miles on them and I have never had a problem. Never. The ride is fine, even on very aggressive terrain. Maybe I'm used to it but I don't feel any left pull and the balance is neutral and I can switch to other non-leftie mountain bikes without noticing the difference. Just to prove it I have ridden on my local gravel rail trail many times for miles (literally) with no hands Ma. I also had an old Rush 26 (circa 2005) that saw a lot of MTB racing that a friend now uses,. That leftie is still going strong well into its second decade. Maintenance on these forks is very straightforward: you just need to learn how to do it: there are a lot of good instructional clips on TH-cam. Even a klutz like me can take care of it but my late great LBS was very competent too. Wheel removal is really easy: it's only three bolts. Yes very slightly more involved than a QR but really no big deal (BTW have you ever tried to find one of those little QR springs in the mud on the mountain?) . You can get that wheel off a leftie in seconds with a mini tool and of course you don't need to take the wheel off to fix a flat or change a tire which is a huge advantage out there in the mud and rain, so unless you taco a wheel in a race (and if you do, those extra seconds are probably irrelevant) you'll only need to do it if you need to remove the wheel for transportation which many don't need to do anyway because either the rack design doesn't require it or there's enough room in the vehicle bed/way-back. As for strength, I've never seen or heard of a leftie break or bend. Cannodale make a big point about the stress tests they perform on these forks and people race with them. If you don't like the idea of a leftie that's fine, (to each his or her own) but let's not invent silly "technical" reasons to justify an emotional choice.

I love my Lefty (2010 rz120 and still going strong) I dig being able to swap a tube without taking off the wheel!

The major advantage is the feel. The way the left goes over bumps is ridiculous. It's so smooth. You dont get that backlash. If you haven't ridden a lefty and only a dual fork you dont know because you are used to it. The lefty feels like air under your bike.

but taking a wheel off nowadays on a normal fork with quick realease axles is almoast as fast and i think its a lot more comfortable to work on the wheel when you completly remove it and also you can work faster then

CANNONDALE = Rolls Royce of Bicycles!
Cannondale Lefty's is the best looking bicycle Ever! But you're right, for people who drive Sedan/Hatchbacks/etc... transporting the newer Bad Boy Lefty's will be an issue as there's NO "Quick Release" for the front wheel/tire to come off. As for me, i own a few Pickup Trucks transporting these newer Bikes(without taking off the wheel) is NEVER an issue as i just throw 'em in the bed of my pickup trucks.
True Story, a many years ago i walked into a Bicycle Shop in Fountain Valley CA and ask if they carry accessories for my bike and the Owner/Manager told me to bring my bike in and i did. A few of his prospective Customers in the store started to look at my bike from a distance and asked if the store carry "Cannondale", they said NO. And from then i can see the Owner/Manager's face got Red/and he told me he didn't have my parts and rudely asked me to Leave. i Never went back since. i don't want to give out the Name of the Store because selling bikes is his source of survival or it could've changed Owners since i visited 15+ years ago.
All said and done, CANNONDALE is the Trendy/Unique/Stylish/Modern/Futuristic/Patented Aluminum CAAD frame & it's fancy Lefty Fork design!! The Most beautifully made bicycle in the market full of Ferrari's & Mustangs, this is the Rolls Royce(Classy/Special).

one side fork is fine...many motorcycle like ducatis, have one fork front and back and motorcyle go faster, stops better, heavier and everything and its fine...if 1000cc motorcycle can handle the tears etc a bicycle should be fine

I think removing one pedal would work too. Using one leg would certainly require less energy. The other leg could be draped over the handlebar on a sort of padded bracket.

I agree with you entirely, but as a Lefty-equipped Cannondale Caffeine F1 user since the mid-2009, I will have to point out a couple of issues you forgot to mention:
    - The Lefty isn't compatible with any of the hub dynamos available today. In My view, that's a major disadvantage compared to the competition.
    - The Lefty steers very nervously with only one hand on the handlebar. Hand-free you're almost guaranteed to fall.
    - For touring, the Lefty-equipped bike is of fairly limited use not only because of the issues related above (especially the first one), but also (in some cases) because it isn't meant for, and thus, is incompatible - with fork-mounted luggage racks.
I've done a number of bicycle tours on My Caffeine F1, including a couple of ca. 2.000km to 2.000km bike tours to Rome and Delphi - and since I prefer to use two rear-mounted panniers instead of a set of front and rear -mounted ones, the last point didn't bother Me. However, a Lefty in a bike without rear rack bosses (such as the otherwise quite excellent, albeit expensive for aluminium-frame rigs, Slate series bikes) makes the bike quite useless for anything but day trips. Add to that the incompatibility with any hub dynamo - and you end up with a very specialised, fairly limited use gravel bike.
If not for those two issues, I'd love to supplement My bike collection with something like the Slate - particularly, if it was a little more affordable and maybe had a slightly longer fork suspension travel: for many situations, the Lefty Oliver's 30mm travel is somewhat insufficient. Speaking of Cannondale's range limitations, I'd also love for them to launch a Slate with a tightly integrated, but easily removable for charging and occasional pedal-only -powered rides, high-capacity battery and a powerful, high-torque, but efficient, motor. And maybe a bit smoother welds, visually reminiscent of carbon.

I was hoping you could answer me a few ques..
1- Does the bike come with a cord for re-charging the lefty fork light strip and where is the port for charging?
2- Is it OK to switch gears when under power of should one be coasting?
3- Any routine maintenance to the rear hub/gears and drive belt?
Thank you very much in advance.

I just lost a riding partner tuesday from him getting a piece of roadway debris in his front spokes and going over the bar. It crushed his helmet and broke his neck. The funeral is on the 22nd. I've had the same thing happen to me in the past when my bike picked up a limb. A one-armed bike may have its place.

Condolences man. Sorry to hear about your buddy.
I went over the bars myself not long ago and also trashed my helmet. I still think it's a miracle I didn't break my neck or anything else. I reckon a full camelbak bladder helped soak up some of the impact.
In any case we should all try to a bit take more care when we are out riding. Just sending it can send you to hospital.
