Great video and very impressive grading, cleaning, and pressing skills! I am extremely disappointed that CGC is still having issues with books lying flat in their slabs, as I am waiting for my 15 book vintage to return from my July bulk submission.
Really sad that you send CGC books that are flat…and then send back graded books with waves all over and new ugly spine stress from the book not lying flat. Guess the problem is NOT fixed yet. Simply not acceptable. Don’t even want to open my box…terrible customer service - broken trust. They need to fix the problem and fix all the defective product they put in the market.
I've had a few submissions come back over the past couple of months; in my experience, the bent wells are only on the modern books (and even then, it's not all of them). Silver age books (being larger and so needing larger/different wells) are all lying flat. But I may have just been lucky?
@@wardallen1941 please explain how the statement is a lie. I’ve been following the CGC forums. Some people are getting books back no issue while a few reported getting some back still bent.
Hi! Would you trade your Hawkman 4 cgc 6 for Strange Worlds 1 (1958), Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko (cgc 3.5); Four Color 223 (1949), Carl Barks (cgc 4); Strange Tales 21 (1953), Stan Lee (cgc 3.5); and Haunt of Fear 5 (1951), Wally Wood (cgc 1.8) ?
Has CGC addressed the inner well problem since you sent these in? I have a Famous Funnies 211 I want to send in, but don't want to see it all bent up due to their issues.
They have and their stance the bend isn't damaging books and acceptable to them. A few people have tried to get them to fix the issue and they denied it. Would have to call and show before and after pictures to try and get them to fix issue.

Just curious, why don't you just buy higher graded books with all the $$$ you're spending on all these low to mid grade books.??? I mean, you're paying a LOT for these books and then for all these CGC submissions. Idk, to be completely honest, it really just seems pointless
Because he enjoys the hunt and buys collections. He has waaay more hits than losses which helps him fund the hobby and filling in his personal collection. 🎉
Because you can buy more books if you're buying low to mid than if you're only buying high. It's just a personal preference of quantity over quality. And it creates equity. For example, he said he bought the Batman 139 (1st original Batgirl) for $112. CGC fee is $40 for vintage, so let's say he's into the book for $160. FMV is $200, so he's up $40 in instant equity. Making the hobby fund itself.
A good case can be made stating that in addition to being a decent person, James is the most knowledgeable and helpful Comic Book TH-camR.

Nice job Jim! I said before you are really getting good at pressing and cleaning to improve condition of the comics. 👍
Otto loves Jonny Quest
Congratulations! 🎉
Several of those books you can see they are in there as a banana just from the front. It's absurd.

Try cbcs. They have a better product
Them fixing the issue is hit or miss. Their statement is the bend does no damage to the books.

@@skytripa that statement is a lie in my opinion based on my personal experience

That's a great Gold Key book!
Thanks for sharing. What is the deal with 'What Not' compared to Ebay? Does What Not charge fees?
Iron Man 55 - sold
X-Men 50 - sold
I’d take the swamp thing!
Do a video of your basement. 😅

They absolutely ruined Shang Chi with that shitty movie, I couldn't even watch it.
