It blows my mind how much time and work you're willing to put into these builds. Likewise, your eye for making things look real is kind of uncanny. Some folks just have "the sight", I swear. I think I could put in more work, and spend more time looking at maps, and I'd still lack that "sight". I watch these videos, and I can never tell if I'm learning and feeling inspired, or if it's just making me feel bad about my own builds. My boy even built damn dry docks that look good 😭
Thanks man I appreciate it! Yes you have to definitely build a bit differently than real life to make it look good in cs i think:) Don’t feel bad bro Its no competition or so:D And i appreciate that i can inspire you a bit:)
On the topic of river walks, you could go with something similar to San Antonio. Its river is small compared to the two cities you suggested (almost unnoticeable on Google Earth), but it is really nice and is a short walk from the Alamo. Its compact size means you could easily squeeze it through the downtown without taking up too much space. You could also connect part of it to your own city's historic building so that civilians could go visit and then walk down the river, visiting stores along the side or using it as a pedestrian walkway that doesn't cross traffic.
As a Chicagoan I 1000000% endorse doing something similar to the river walk. You could make it super dense and it would compliment what you’ve already built. Plus it would be a great area to detail and as you fan out you wouldn’t have to overtly detail.
What you could do is build a cruise terminal next to the ship yard, then you can transition into a marina, which can transition into a waterfront or beach.
There is something really nice about the Chicago River meandering through the city that I have always liked as a Chicagoan. Lots of different neighborhoods grew up around the river path.
I think a downtown with a river running through would definitely be a nice touch in downtown & a major landmark or statue would definitely be a cool spot in the city.
Definitely do something like the Chicago River Walk, with the many street levels, riverside parks and whatnot. Never seen anyone on youtube try to replicate that.
Ship yard looks really nice its just missing one thing, parking. Shipyards typically employ a lot of people, there can be 500+ people working on one ship. In this city American style city there would be either enormous surface parking or even a large garage.
For the downtown area, I feel like adding water would complement other projects you have created such as the dam and the waterfall, you could also possibly use it as an opportunity to use it in a way that the people in 'charge' are creating pockets of green space and habitats for animals and fish in a way to balance out their pollution?
Thank you again and again for your awe inspiring builds. They're the one thing giving me the most hope that one day I may switch from CS1 to CS2 without regrets.
@imperatur, youre true artist mate, time for airport :) ps to maintain dry dock being dry, you can try to use surface/decal of water to mask wide "doors"
The 747 is a wide-body commercial airliner, famously known as the "Jumbo Jet". It was first developed by Boeing in the 1960s and became one of the most iconic aircraft in aviation history. Here are the key points about it: 1. Design and Features: The 747 was designed to carry a large number of passengers over long distances. The aircraft is recognizable by its distinctive humpbacked shape, which comes from the upper deck that was initially designed for cargo but later adapted for additional passenger seating. It typically seats between 400 and 600 passengers, depending on the model and seating configuration. It is known for its wide-body fuselage, which allows for a spacious cabin. 2. History: First Flight: The 747 had its first flight on February 9, 1969. It was developed in response to airlines needing an aircraft capable of carrying more passengers to meet the demand of growing air travel. The 747 revolutionized air travel by making it more affordable and accessible to a larger number of people. 3. Different Variants: Over the years, several versions of the 747 have been produced, including the 747-100, 747-200, 747-300, 747-400, and the 747-8 (the latest and largest version). There are also specialized versions, such as the 747 Freighter (for cargo) and the 747-8 VIP (used by government leaders and as a private jet). 4. Importance in Aviation: The 747 helped shape the modern air travel industry and allowed for long-haul flights to become more economically feasible. It became a symbol of international air travel, particularly in the 1970s and 1980s when airlines like Pan Am and Qantas made the 747 a staple of their fleets. 5. End of Production: Boeing announced in 2023 that it would end production of the 747, marking the end of an era in commercial aviation. The last 747 was delivered in January 2023. 6. Legacy: The 747 remains a symbol of the golden age of air travel and has left a lasting legacy in the design and operation of large aircraft. It’s also used for specialized roles, like the Air Force One aircraft used by the President of the United States, which is a modified 747. In summary, the 747 is a game-changing aircraft that not only defined long-haul flight but also transformed the way people traveled around the This for those who don’t know

A suggestion for city center: you definitely need to add a lot of absolutely empty parking lots on places where building stood earlier, just like in a lot of american cities in 60s-2000s and add massive speedway going straight trough city center
@imperatur well i guess the only thing that bothers you is building awkwardly wide streets wider than city blocks and filling them with MASSIVE parkings that nobodys gonna use and not constructing onemorelane ahh speedways so try Portland-like city center
Hello, I would love if you took inspiration from Baltimore's Inner Harbor. It has a lot of active industry and repurposed industry- turned housing/amenities to take inspiration from. The aquarium for example is built on a former pier and the concert venue in the old power plant. If you do go that route, may I suggest rowhomes nearby industry. Baltimore (and Philadelphia) has a really distinctive style of gridded rowhomes which give it its charm.
I try my absolute hardest to not place static service or just any job buildings. I don’t care about residential because my city has too many people. my solution to the road problem is surfaces, decals, and invisible roads. i found it makes everything feel more alive and it adds jobs to the city. I know most of this city is the building of it but i would love to see the use of more real buildings and invisible roads to make everything feel more alive

I collect rocks and minerals, my fav rock is the asbestos rock, what happens is this, if I have people over, they normally go and say: This rock is beautiful, picks it up and askes: What rock is this? I say: Asbestos rock, people freak out and act like that rock is a hell spawn or something. The thing is that asbestos rock is only a hazard if it is grinded down. The fibers are to long in its natural form to do any damage to the lungs. There are so many good looking rocks out there, I think it was cool that the old gemology master, he had a iron metorite in a display case in his office. It was like 30-40 cm in diameter. Than many people do not know that SiO2, quartz, that is one of the more common crystals you can find, that it has the biggest family so to speak, like it has all the colours on the spectrum. They have their own names, as an example, Amethyst is just SIO2 mixed with Fe when it is being formed so that is why it gets its colour from. Also if anyone says this rock has any kind of energy coming of it, get a gigercounter. Because that is the only energy something can send out, because rocks do not heal anyone. Or if you have a spectromiter at hand you can get info on what it is. If anyone says this rock has healing powers, book them a time at the local mental doctor, Rocks are intressting, after all, most man made things use them, more or less. On a total diffrent topic, this healing items you can buy online, don't, some of them has thorium in it, that is often radioactive.
Hey Imperatur, I noticed that in the playlist for 1 tile - 1 episode, Part 1 is missing.... Part 2 till 18 is there and now part 19 I think😂 Just wanted to know....
Can u use the one way tram tracks instead of the double path for the dock gate? That way, you get rid of the one-way warning and you have a thinner door.
This build is fantastic. As alaways. On a separate note, are the artists who sing these songs native American speakers? The lyrics are kinda ai generated sounding

Add the sewer drainage for the realistic smell of poop too!
By far the best cities skylines series I've ever watched
Ohh wow thank you!:)
My fave skylines 2 channel. Fantastic bite sized builds and regular uploads. These never fail to inspire and provide great tips toward my own builds

I am nothing short of amazed at how detailed and natural looking you got those drydocks to look. Could have been a vanilla asset (and should be)
There's a whole DLC coming... could be part of that, or something like it.
There is something really nice about the Chicago River meandering through the city that I have always liked as a Chicagoan. Lots of different neighborhoods grew up around the river path.
Love that the chill guy is so good at building

I think a downtown with a river running through would definitely be a nice touch in downtown & a major landmark or statue would definitely be a cool spot in the city.

Wow cs1 level of detailing. Looks so much better with the lighting and no pop-ins with the second game

There’s a mod, i think from Tigon that uses that train maintenance building as a small depot if you wanted it to be functional
Have you tried the new netlanes pack to detail the area around the tracks?
Nice.
Do a cinematic of all the city blocks next episode, Please
You've probably fixed it by now but have you tried placing a tram stop on those "crane tracks" to stop them from whining?
ship yard... yeaaahhhh
Yeaaah🤘🏻
@imperatur
Whats the traffic like for the city?
You deserve 1 mil subs
What mods do you use to place all the residential and shopping buildings?
Its amazing
please do a mars series

what are your spec btw in your safes i got veery mutch lagg
I have a good pc 🫢 but maybe change some of the graphics settings or lower the lod :)
maybe in the next episode you could build an artificial island to make your city look even cooler just like in dubai
What ur city based in?
Where *
North America:)
I have the Lego Orient Express train!!!
Couldn’t you add in tram stops at the ends of the track? That makes the track reversible and should make the warnings go away
Does you game CS2 crashed regularly too? I'm struggling with the crash and it's super annoying.
Couldn't you use the wall from the Dam asset and turn that into a wall/door?
I got the lego concord, the lego titanic and the lego eiffel tower.
