    I thought about buying a Tissot Le Locle that I saw and liked, but it had the powermatic 80 movement. I heard that watches with this movement cannot be serviced. Swatch or Tissot, just swap out the movement, and put a new one in as a service. To me this very off putting, and I wouldn’t buy with this movement. A watch salesman and owner confirmed this issue with me and said, they usually just replace the movement and not service it. However Tissot watches with just an ETA automatic movement can be serviced. I’d prefer to still have the same movement and pay to get it serviced than swapped out. My advice and if those that are concerned is buy a watch with a basic ETA movement and not with a powermatic 80.

    • @JoseJoeable
      @JoseJoeable 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why have you ever had a watch with this kind of movement? Do you trust Tissot servicing your watch or your watchmaker that is doing it behind your back? Even these movements come with plastic parts inside. And these watches with these movements aren’t cheap, so it’s expected that you are getting a good movement to last for generations, and not have something with plastic or possibly disposable. Even a watch salesman I know and who services watches said that it’s true that Powermatic 80 movements do get swapped most of the time. It’s not worth the hassle to service, but instead to just swap the movement out. And to get parts it can be difficult since only Tissot and Swatch only have access to parts. Please do your research.

    Is Tissot Powermatic worth to purchase? or should purchase Seiko instead of Tissot what is your opinion?

    • @SolimBD
      @SolimBD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Tissot is a Swiss watch brand which makes luxury watches, while Seiko is a Japanese which makes fashionable, efficient and durable watches. But, a Tissot watch has higher quality than Seiko. This is because the brand chooses the high-quality materials which makes their timepieces worthier.

      @GamingManiac if you want my opinion seiko's direct rival to the powermatic 80 is the 6r35 wich is featured in their alpinist watches and also features a 70hour power reserve and magic lever winding system and spare parts and modding parts could be found on the internet unlike some of the powermatic 80 parts anyway if you want a watch that has the better movement i'd say go for the seiko but if there's a specific design you like from tissot i'd say go for that too

      The Tissot Powermatic 80 Automatic caliber not only demonstrates ultimate precision but also has 80 hours of power reserve. ... As if a greater power reserve was not enough, they also found a way of making the movement extremely precise and robust by concentrating on ways to improve the regulator system.
