Well said, my thoughts exactly!!! Who ever said that about other girls is an absolute, pathetic, AH. They are all superb athletes and they had to perform at their best to win that gold medal, so a massive congrats to all of them.
Simone appears to try and mentor her fellow athletes. She is the GOAT, but encourages others.

Stupid implies an impaired intelligent thought process. Something perhaps you may experience. These ladies have all devoted themselves to a brutal training regimen since they were children. They’re all subject to self doubt, injuries and people who feel free make mean comments about them. Usually stemming from jealousy. Congratulations to all these incredible young women who represent the very best of our country.

it takes much character and tenacity to go through many years of rigour to develop that talent.

Simone Biles is not only superbly brilliant in gymnastics, but also courageous and forthright with the dark secrets of this highly competitive sports world. Of course, her teammates all benefit from her frank truths and also, of course, most coaches in every sport are secretly cringing, because they know her words are the truth but they also know their entire personal worlds ONLY work if they WIN, WIN, WIN...and win big. So, the conflict of interest here is blatantly clear. Younger, up and coming athletes of this caliber fear speaking out, as they KNOW it WILL hurt them in the scoring. They have seen it before. Simone has the age and experience and credibility to actually stand up for truth. I am so proud of her. And those who believe 'she/they need to buck up, shut up, and play to win, no matter the cost'...well I bet you, those people have never, ever, EVER done anything of this nature in their lives and never could. The Monday morning quarterbacks~well, you my friends, are the ones who need to buck up and shut up and start hearing what is being said, and try, for one second, to put yourself in any of these young athletes position. Compassion and understanding will take you a lot further in your own lives than mean-spirited, hateful, 'secretly written' ugly words.

Biles (being the best) aside, this sport requires so many skills, that even the 10th or the 50th of the class deserves our respect.
SIMONE is an one of a kind athlete. She will set the tone because she has the most experience. The other girls are just as good. They are there to exceed SIMONE and the other great gymnastics women before her. They all have earned their place to be called the Queen of this sport

In any sport there's a Queen and King... it's her time to reign. Pease allow her to shine. Achievements, she does have a move named after her!! And how many titles medal etc.. she's a record breaker !!

It takes a team, and each one of them are very unique in what they bring to the team. Simone is mature and these girls do look up to her. However, all sport has a great amount of stress that can be overwhelming. There are many athletes that has inner stress that causes them to hide their emotions from the world. The healings come when they are able to express what they are feeling. It’s time to take off bandages. Allow them to have their moments of truth. They have made the USA proud. They are human.

I have to disagree. The headline emphasizes the reality of Simone’s treatment over the last several years compared to her amazing performance. Those that counted her out were “stupid” for underestimating her despite knowing her. The world shamed Simone for dealing with the extreme health issues our athletes sometime face. She has gotten her own back and shown that you can have issues and persevere and overcome.
Every one of these female athletes is spectacular, and doing her very best, always. No need to compare. And, as in all of life, we all have our ups and downs, wins and failures. Also: allowing athletes to speak up for better practices in the profession can only help the profession. Surely, no great athlete speaks up out of spite.
I totally agree with Simone. There are many other ways to achieve greatness. She is right.

If you watched her competition last Olympics, she suffered a setback at her performance because she was having a mental health issues. She admitted that and commended Taylor Swift as her hero because she helped her to recover. You can watch that in YT.
Love and happiness makes an athlete inspired and more focused especially her partner is also in sports.

The whole idea behind the Olympics is to send the best. Only the cream of the crop is allowed to go. That’s the idea. Start doing DEI and letting in overweight people who can’t do a cartwheel and you’ve destroyed the whole idea of what it means to work hard for something you want.
