I like the "this guy". Makes you wonder if there are body parts that have some kind of suspension...I dropped by from seeing your post in the Vintage Lens group.

Yes, the little moving lens is mounted on 2 little springs, but in my opinion, it is just to hold it while allowing some in plane motion. I don't think the springs work by themselves as a passive suspension. All the work is done by the magnets ans cools. Best.

    I have two that I couldn't find on youtube and elsewhere. 1- Yongnuo 35mm F2 for nikon. 2- Nikon 50mm 1.8 AF-S.

@@diyextravaganza I could not find any video showing how to disassemble those two lenses. Got in contact with Yongnuo and they said they can't give me the instructions, but Yongnuo has no official place to clean their lenses besides the ones in China. Those two lenses are tough to open.

Unrelated question: how often do you see that fungus has dissolved lens coatings and glass itself
Do you usually see damage after cleaning?
I'm getting a Nikon 70-200mm G VRII with a little bit of fungus on element group 1 lens 2 (behind front element group) and I'm wondering if there will be traces left after cleaning

Hi, I've worked up to this day in about 400 different lenses. True damage due to fungus? I've seen only once on a sigma 90mm. Some damage? About 5 or 6 times, and it is mostly a discoloration on the coating that once cleaned you only see by looking a the right angle, the right light, and knowing it was there before.
So, I'd say chances that the glass or coating are damaged are very slim. Best.
