I love this archetype, I don't play a so control deck as yours but the way they can recycle, negate, and go through negates with subterror final is amazing (you can give a try to the link monster they have, is a really good one to fill the board)
@@Jyxero Normally the situation the link monster is summoned is using two behemoths, so normally what I send to the gy is the fiendess, in case I have another behemoth in the field I send nemesis. The thing with the link is having the search of guru in one of the arrows the link is pointing to, so each time you search with guru, you can also recycle fiendess from your gy, would be like permanently reciclyng the negate. A tip: you can play through skill drain with subterror and TCBOO is also an insane floodgate with subterror as all their monsters are different types
Link works way better on Tindangle thou, moved from Subterror months ago as they are too slow for my taste But for floodgates, had you tried Deus Krawler? If you have WL cards is easier to summon
Resilient deck who refuses to die, and can be mix with any flip, including Krawler & Subterror but also many "one of" like Summoner of illusions (Eldlich fusion), Scapeghost (1 card Synchro / link 4/5) or Morphing jar #2 (Insane advantage generator, specially if opponent has non lvl monsters like XYZ & link)
Love me some subterror! It actually doesn’t do too bad in high plat and low diamond. I haven’t got to diamond 1 or 2 yet using subterror but i also don’t try too hard once i get into low diamond, that’s usually good enough for me.
Nah, this still just Guru control, Behemoth Fiendess isn't even in the deck but you use it for opening Animation? I called false advertising. I want ACTUAL Subterror Behemoth deck.

Subterror cards aren't even half of it, and like I said they use Behemoth Fiendess for opening animation despite not having it in the deck. Include cards like Tindangle Jhrelth, Dholes (Mine had Angel too), Prediction Princess Coinorma & Subterror Succession... Still looking for Earth / Dark monsters to mix with Subterror succession Wasn't consistent, but you have a blast with it, and their link is actually very useful, Lib Blademaster (The one who spined Guru with Mekk Invoker) can help too with Pawns set (Need a World legacy card like Succession or Mind meld on GY thou)

That first duel is what you get when you mix peepee brain Invoked with GIGACHAD Mekk-Knights. The brainrot of Invoked seeps in and causes you to make big misplays. Never play invoked. Dude had Lightning Storm and Girsu and somehow did not combo off... ._.
People whining about Guru forget that despite being obnoxious, the deck and archetype is fair, nothing like Floo, Eldlitch or Altergeist which are in the wrong part of the floodgate / control. You can’t comeback if you’re behind vs those.

Yeah, subterror is a fair archetype but it's like saying Crystron Halquifibrax was fair because his archetype is also fair. From my point of view, it's like picking different poisons that does the same thing in the end.
I have to arrest this, cuz i have seen so many control decks build wrong. You do not use hand traps such ash, veiler, imper, nibiru in a control deck. Those hand traps have very small effect for the control aspect. They are for combo decks due to how accessible they are. The only hand trap's good for control deck is maxx c, in this case subterror, fiendess is good cuz it's an ommi negate. Use better trap in place of those hand traps. Traps that can be used when you go first and second, those that have more impactful effect rather than a hand trap that only delays your opponent for a turn. Playing a control deck is to trade your trap for a better advantage. Force your opponent to spend more resources than you are. And god dammit, bring 3 solemn strikes, it doesn't do much against floo but it always good against any other match up. Solemn strike is the mandatory for control deck. Your opponent summons accesscode talker, baron de fleur, link 4 marincess, pendulum summons just strike it with a solemn card.
Access has the clause that cards can't be responded when summoned / activate effects You're right with the rest thou, but Nib can be meaningful when used, so don't sleep on it (Saying from a combo oriented player, not a fan of stun but generate resources while holding ground)

Negating summon is happening before the summon is successful so the on-field-effect of said monster doesn't apply as it is not technically on the field. You can not negating summon of monster(s) if the summon is in a chain. There is a difference between cards that response on a summon (such as torrential tribute, trap hole traps, etc) and cards that is capable of negating a summon(s) (such as the solemn cards, etc), the former can only be activated after the summon is successful while the later is before the summon is successful and will decide whether it will be successful or not. Negating a summon of an extra deck monster also causes it to be "not properly summoned" so you cannot even summon it from the graveyard so it would force your opponent to find a way to return the card back to the extra deck so they can summon it back. Unless the card states "the summon of this card can not be negated" then all solemn cards can easily negate the summon without any issue. Edit: more in depth explanation.
