It's crazy Imam Tom converted just over a decade ago. The breadth and depth of his knowledge is phenomenal mA. That along with how well he articulates has allowed me to benefit from him immensely.
On a separate note, pretty interesting the parallels between Imam Tom and your boy Shaykh YQ's trajectory and views. Would be cool to have an episode with them both on.

I was thinking about that today as well. I was several years into practicing the Deen in 2010, which is the year he converted…and then he comes along and smokes us!! Really reminds you of the verse in the Qu’ran where Allah tells us He will replace us if we aren’t doing what’s needed.

Shukran sheikh for sharing your point of view. Im a south African living in Saudi Arabia. I im not a sufi or salafi. I just want to please Allah SWT, but yet i was told that im not Muslim. Making me khafir straight out. Just because of difference about fiqh small issues. Back in south Africa we go to a gathering in remembrance and never talk bad about anyone else not believing in coming together in learning about our beloved prophet Muhammad saw and a burdah or 2 and i see nothing wrong with that. Im so careful to step out of line. I pracice excatly the same way as my sisters in Saudi and yet i will never be 1 of them. We all Muslim and we should love each other for the sake of Allah. Just to add i follow the shafee madhab and it's a big problem. Subahallah really needed to hear uour opinion. That's exactly where my family and community is at. May Almighty bless you in abundance. Ameen

43:41 agree 100%. Until we all wake up and realize that THIS is what must be prioritized before ANY other issue in this time and age, then we will continue collectively to be in the trouble we are in. Muslims, unite. These are not war slogans. Let go of secondary things, God will judge the individuals, don't worry, worry about the status of the collective instead. Ummah is not a big club, it's a responsibility.

The prophet PBUH said there will be a time, people will take their knowledge from ignorant people.
For sic centuries the Muslim did not celebrate the Mawlid. The prophet did not, the Sahaba did not, the Tabieen did not, the Tabaa Tabaaeen did not, The four imams did not, Ibn Taymiyah did not and his ruling it’s Bidaa and these people still debate it’s Halal

The analogy about the invention of microphone is out of context. Development of our skills is also our mandate since Allaah Azza Wa Jal instructed us “Iqra”
Yes intention matters. I am not a scholar but its better to avoid celebrating birthday of Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him) lest we follow the path of christians where they over exalted Jesus (may peace be upon him)
Yes, tribalism is a disease which we should collectively fight against. We should agree to disagree. But lets not get to the extent of disowning each other just because of some issues like this. We should understand each other.

alhamdullilah as a convert the salafi minhaj was introduced to me from my initial days as a new muslim and i never found any benefit in it. Its a foreign created movement and is definitely one of the sects deviated from ahl as sunnah wal jammat.

Can brother Tom addresses the issue of Islamic books for kids and adolescents in English and other Latin languages. The one I can find in the UK are very low quality level, leaflets in baby and fantasy baby language at high price, around £5-10.
I came across the Clear Quran for kids that attracted my 10 years old son, who read every day or two college level books. The Clear Quran is in 4 volumes with an exhorbitant price tag, over £200.
I am not aware of any book, except the specialist one, at over £20.
Do muslim authors are opportunistic to benefit from Islam and exploit muslims, getting quickly rich and famous.
I am desperate to find decent attractive books for my son.
I am appalled by the lack of decent Islamic books for our kids. Very shameful. Allah Al musta3ann

Ibn Taymiyyah says: “So whoever turns away from the Divine Shariah-based Salafi way then there’s no doubt he’ll be misguided and contradict”
    Source: درء التعارض
When one calls himself a “Salafi” then that is not in reference to the movement that was spearheaded by Muhammad Ibn Abdulwahhab or those after him, rather one is attributing himself to the Salaf, which is why Ibn Taymiyyah would even call Al-Bukhari a Salafi. Many of the things that Tom criticized is with regards to Fiqh issues where differences of opinion are allowed. I don’t see how this takes one out of the Salafi Way especially since you have Salafis that are Hanafis, Malikis, Shafi’is, Hanbalis, and those that don’t follow a Mathhab. Salafis are more diverse, regarding this issue, than Asharis and Maturidis.
As for what Tom has mentioned concerning the Mawlid then he’s wrong.
What Tom said about the different sects at the end is wrong too, because the prophet ﷺ told us all 72 sects are in the fire and only 1 is in paradise. The prophet ﷺ came with one religion and not multiple. What’s even worse is that the Ashari creed contains elements that can take a person outside the boundary of Islam. Just like how Ibn Abi Al-Iz Al-Hanafi in his explanation of Al-Tahawiyyah says the ashari concept of the speech of Allah is more severe in disbelief than the mutazili understanding. A Muslim preacher is commanded to clarify the truth. So if you know that Ash’ari Sufi beliefs are wrong and don’t clarify it to the people then you are concealing the truth, and if you don’t know they are wrong then that is because you don’t know the reality of the sunnah and how the scholars of the past such as Abu Hamid Al-Isfarayini, Ibn Khuwayz, Ibn Abdilbar, Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Qudamah, and other scholars declared ashari beliefs to be wrong. And even if you say that we as Muslim are facing a bigger issue than what you have to understand is that cooperating with Asharis in affairs that benefit the Ummah is one thing, and declaring that the ashari creed is a valid school within Sunni Islam and telling people it’s ok to have ashari beliefs is one thing with the later being undeniably wrong. Also why speak out against other Salafis in issues that aren’t disbelief then ignore the clear cut misguided beliefs of the Ashari that can take a person out of the fold of Islam? May Allah guide us all.

Dear brother, the topic addressed in this specific video is about Bid’ah. Not aqeedah. So much of what you said is irrelevant to this current discussion. You can ask imam Tom about his opinions on the differences in Aqeedah issues separately.
As for unity between Salafis and Asharis against Kuffar, this is something common sense and practiced by major scholars and imams (salafi based scholars like even ibn Taymiyyan and ibn Qudamah before him). Imam Tom did emphasis this unity in the video yes but the subject of the video is Bidah. So if you have any issues address the Bidah point and don’t just bring about divisive points for no apparent reason

    *Hadith for the day*
Of 73 sects of mohammadans 72 will go to hell as per prophet Mohammed.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also described them in the following terms: “My ummah will split into seventy-three sects, all of whom will be in Hell except one group.” They said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allaah? He said: “(Those who follow) that which I and my companions follow.” This is mentioned in the hadeeth of ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr which was recorded and classed as hasan by al-Tirmidhi (2641). It was also classed as hasan by al-‘Iraaqi in Ahkaam al-Qur’aan (3/432), al-‘Iraaqi in Takhreej al-Ihya’ (3/284) and al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.

My brother, the name Sufism is not a problem. Innovation exists among the Shiites, Sufis, Ash’aris, and Maturidis. This sums up the issue in Sufism by Sheikh Othman Al-Khamis, one of the most famous Salafist scholars. He is a student of the scholar Ibn Uthaymeen.

salafis themselves has so much bidah. Like worhsipping the ruler to the point that the ruler builds a templte and your scholars remain silent. Is this the way of salaf? Would Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal remain quite while MBS sells the palestinians? Stop blind following salafi scholars and follow actual salaf. Incase you forgot imam abu hanifa is actual salaf while ibn taimya isnt even close.
You spew bidah bidah everywhere but never cared to check the fiqh of bidah. How come all these hanafis, shafiq and malikis dont know what was the position of their imams on the issue of bidah. Absolutely stupid reasoning.
