The noodles is called japchae. I specifically spent a month in IT park to eat there every day. Not crowded before 11am and 2-4pm. My favorite combo is bulgogi, egg, fresh kimchi and bean sprouts and seaweed soup. I skip the rice so sometimes they let me have a 3rd veggie. Really great value…they can tone down the salt imo.

I’m planning on that exact thing. As i meet more and more expats. Would love to setup a weekly meetup with folks. I think it’s so key especially when you first get here to have a resource of folks to talk about what’s going on and ask any questions. I’m exploring options now and looking at possibly a facebook group

Chris , that meal looks so good.
That is one thing I miss about Pinas, the food.
I remember tasting my first wagyu beef in Makati. And all the different types of dishes are right there in the city centers. There's little districts of different ethnicities.
My husband didn't believe me that the Philippines is more mix culturally than CA until I took him there before we got married.
I miss Philippines so much. Things are getting really bad here with so many bank failures. Crime is rising. Not where we are here in Texas.

Nice turo-turo place. All of that for $2.70 is dirt cheap. IT Park is another option for me when I get there. As much as I like soup...and coffee, I avoid getting them at any establishment as they usually use tap water. Heck, I don't even drink so-called commercial spring or purified water. I have consumed only distilled water for decades and have been making my own distilled water at home since about twelve or so years ago when I realized and decided to also avoid liquids stored in plastic...but that's another story. I see part of the selfie stick showing up at the nadir of this video; I have the same issue with my 360 cam when fully extending the stick due to flex.

The US military is gradually coming back to the Philippines. Given the influx of Americans residing there, do you think the Philippines and its women will become more Westernized? Can you observe any changes? Also, will prices increase with more Americans (Military and Non-Military or Westerners) relocating to the Philippines? Or, due to the vastness of the Philippines, will Filipina women remain predominantly traditional despite the influx of Americans? This could be an exciting topic to discuss with your TH-cam followers.

Yes Charles. Look me up. Would love to meet up. As far as neighborhoods, you’re good with either really. Both are really incredible and great for us to start our journey here. 2000 USD a month is good. You’ll still watch to keep an eye on your spending, but feel if you’re budget minded and a planner you’ll be just fine on 2k. I have not been to BGC yet and my understanding is it’s a little more expensive there. Plus Manila is ginormous. If you’re coming from LA / NYC it’s a good fit.
I assume September is your scouting trip. For sure let’s get together. I’m not sure what my schedule is then yet but would absolutely love to meet up.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Really appreciate it
