May Allah guide Doctor Finklestein, he is exceptional and I would urge anyone who wants to learn in depth about the oppression that has occurred going back to 1948, please listen to this man. He has dedicated his life to the Palestinian struggle since 1982. That is 41 years!
I've stayed quiet on this issue while waiting for this podcast, knowing that I know very little. Wish more people had the patience to listen to it. Jazak'Allah khayr.
@@imamzakariyaacademy we should really have a session on the history and development of the Hanafi mazhab, and to what extent is there a need in doing taqlid, or the what level of knowledge is needed to do one's own ijtihaad.
I hate to say I've enjoyed a discussion when the topic relates to human suffering, but i certainly found this engaging. I'm currently reading Gaza and this is precisely the conversation I've been missing, as it turns out. Presently, there's a lot of sensationalism surrounding Israel/Palestine. It provokes emotions, but without history, context, and facts it just serves to whip people into an irrational frenzy and, of course, raise profiles/earn clout/clicks/money. I guess that's the point. It's pretty gross. Basically, my sleep deprived ramble is meant to thank you for an excellent discussion. 10/10. Would do it again.
Ml Zeeshan hit the nail on the head with his breakdown of career-dependant academics. I think satisfying their ego plays a big part in it as well. A lot of these figures are financially well off; but still require some sort of public acceptance, even if it's totally based off of lies and rebuttled arguements. Jordan Peterson is a prime example of this since working directly for the Daily wire comes with its baggage of tolerating Israels inhumane war crimes. He can't convince himself to justify it, so he makes foolish tweets and consoles himself through the reaction of the uninformed brainless sheep who commend him for it. For a guy as emotional as Peterson, I'm not suprised to see it visibly taking a toll on him. It's so pathetic I start to feel some pity. May Allah protect all muslims from ever falling into a similair situation
Brother Zeeshan is absolutely spot on about Jordan Peterson. He has been idolized by the likes of Mohammad Hijab and co for no reason whatsoever. Love from Srinagar, Kashmir❤
