  • How to repaint your Honda Rubicon’s wheels using Dip You Car’s Hyperdip. This paint is rubberized and removable. Very similar to PlastiDip but way better and available in a ton of colors and finishes.
Please make sure you wear a paint mask when spraying as this rubberized paint can be harmful to your lungs.
The color is called Brass Monkey. Gets yours here: www.dipyourcar...

It's going to look nice when all finished. A few things: the 1st 2 coats should be light just like you did. the next coats should be medium coats and layered to achieve that wet glossier look.
You should have a total of 12-13 coats or so. Even when it is covered at coat 5-6, keep going. This will give it some durability as well as giving it the ability to peel off when you need/want to. Unfortunately, you wont be able to peel it with a few coats.
Also, you should be using Dip Release on the tires. When you are finished spraying the proper amount of coats, the Hyperdip will peel off the tires very easily.
Check out how I did the Hyperdip in my video section. Well done on your video!

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I will definitely go back and add more coats and then do a follow up. I definitely thought of the dip release but I remembered how easy the PlastiDip peeled off the tires on my GX470 when I did those.
I checked out your video and it turns out I had watched it awhile back when I was researching ordering Hyperdip. Well-done video…..it was very helpful. Heading back outside to do a few more coats.

I think it looks good! I've had good luck on ATV plastics and stuff with plasti dip. It should stay on the wheel for a while depending on how thick brush you bash through. If you ride in icy waters, the ice will chip it off easily. Fun project!

Thanks. I’m hoping it will last quite a while since I rarely go through brush. It’s used for mostly work around the property including snowplowing during the winter. Any longer rides are done on the fire lanes around the area. Now if I did some of the trail riding like Quaddingsous does, I’m sure the paint would come off after just one of his rides. Check out his channel if you’ve never seen it.

How durable is it? If it peels off as easily as you say, it probably wouldn't be good for anyone riding with me right? Just curious because it looks like a cool product.

Hey Q, great to hear from you. I remember when I first told you about this paint a year ago…finally got around to trying it in all my retired free time 😉
While I do think it will hold up well to everyday simple riding, chores around the property, snow plowing, etc., I definitely think trail riding like what you do on your video trips might end up tearing the rubberized paint. Anything that would scrape the paint off stock wheels would definitely tear this and I think the biggest culprit would be sticks and wood on your trails. I think for the type of work I use my Rubi around the house would be fine for this.
The aluminum wheels on my F-150 are pitting after 8 year of Midwest winters, so I’m definitely going to do this on the wheels once I choose a color/finish. That should last for normal driving, as I don’t do any off-roading with my truck.
Wife and I just returned from an Alaskan cruise. Omg what a beautiful area up there made me really appreciate the beautiful rides you guys are able to do up north by you. So jealous.
      Take care my friend.
