Nicely done and explained! Can you also list the source(s) for your parts, please? Thank you

Thanks Stefan! The raw materials such as the clear tube and 3D filament are obtained from places such as Ebay and Amazon. The gearboxes are MPJ8060 from MPJet, not sure about your local distributors but here in Canada I was about to order them from Icare-rc.com. If I remember correctly, I got the ESC from Cornwall Model Boats in the UK. The prop shaft seals are harder to source, but I know that they are still being sold by Engel Modellbau in Germany.

@@neitoRC Thanks! Do you make the STL files available for your 3D printed parts?

@@VE4NSA Not yet, but I may do it in the future. The reason is that this cylinder is still untested, I don’t want to risk others losing their boat in case there is something that I did not account for in the design :)

Are you sure the motor is a 480 and not 390? I am having a hard time finding 480 motors that look the same. Would you mind just giving the motor specs if you ended up liking the power and speed?
Sorry if this is on one of your later videos, I am still watching the last ones.

I've seen these being advertised as 390 motors as well. From my gearbox specs sheet, these motors are almost identical to the old Graupner Speed 480 motors. Look up "1/16 RC Tank Motors" and they should be in the search results. I've yet to test these in the water, my sub is still waiting to be trimmed. In the RC tank world, these motors are typically used in vehicles that weigh quite a bit, so I think the torque should be more than enough. My only concern with these motors is how hot they will run.

They need computer control when submerged and out of radio range .
