They weren't booing Russ. They were booing the decision to start Russ. I do think Russ did deserved a chance. But some of those grabs were spectacular grabs more than they were great throws. But at least he gave them a chance by throwing those throws which Fields would not have.
So I do believe the booing was warranted, the fans were justified, but I also believe that was that booing that became the main accelerant needed to ignite a fire under the teams behinds. Because they played lights out after that.

Rodgers played well. The 1st int was an amazing play. Rodgers, ben, Brady all have made that throw tons of times. The other int the defender obstructed the view, and got a bounce. Pit is one of the best d in the league. They've given up 100pts through 7 games. Perspective bal has given up 150 through 6. Pit is top 1 or 2 in turnover ratio. He's got a break. That extra pt wasn't a penalty at all. They should have scored 13. Pit ave pts per game is 14. Only one better is lac and they played 5 games, not 7. Pit is plus 66pts in the 2nd half. No one else is even close to them. Rodgers had 2.2 sec to get rid of the ball. Wilson had 3.2. How can his wrs get open in 2.2 seconds. Th watt had one play where they didn't double him. That play he was in Rodgers face and swatted the ball. Even though he was doubled, he had 5qb hits in under 2.2 seconds. The downside for the jets. Pit is on their 4th C and 7 different o line combos. Pit isn't some scrub team.

Oh yea i never doubted I always said fields is good but Rus is a veteran who's just got that instinct he was a bit rusty in the first half then something snapped and it was just like how he was back in the day I think having two very good qb's is a good problem to have cause Rus can and has been injury prone he's older but at the same time still very very good, fields is a great backup and could definitely use some time to watch and learn how to incorporate some Rus Wilson in his play style he could have both the passing and the running game down. But like Mike Tomlin said "The passing game opens up the running game" lol I will say tho having fields start off and keep rus on the headset was a smart move so he can heal and boy did he make a helluva debut

@Ezees23 That is certainly very possible. That was Russ's first real action since December of last year. I am not surprised that he looked off. He will need to get more accurate quickly though. What I haven't heard much talk of since Sunday night was how depleted the Jets' secondary was. He won't always have that margin for error.

I expected both QB's to get playing time after the Steelers added both QB's in March. The Steelers needed to see what both QB's can bring to the table and do for the team. They are still trying to find their QB so they needed to see both QB's play so that was their plan all along. They need to see if either QB will work out for them after 2024.
My hope now is that Russ keeps starting this season and the Steelers add packages for Justin. That Justin keeps learning this season and that he can be a better QB next season

Give Russ that 2nd WR to go alongside Pickens, that Williams, Hopkins or something. With Najee and Warren running in the backline, the Steelers are going to be very dangerous *if* Russ can stay consistent. Which based off last year, I don't see why he can't atm, he started slow but he picked up the pace and got in the groove and as they said, he hasn't played ball since almost a year ago.

Pickens had to come back to the pass for all those deep shots. If it wasn't for Pickens' ability to make the 50/50 catches, Russ would of thrown at least 3 picks. Also, the Jets were playing on a short week... the D usually isn't the same on short weeks.

Can the Steelers get respect at least ONCE without a backhanded comment afterwards…RUSS DID WELL after first quarter and that was awesome Steelers team ball. Everyone on that field displayed discipline after a couple of mishaps that Tomlin instills constantly into every Steelers player. Jets have 0 chemistry because of Rodger’s ego and play + others just not making plays they desperately need.
