One of the things I really love about you both is your positivity and appreciation for kai. Its also body positivity in a way. So many people place judgement on 'good' or 'bad'' foods and associate virtue or guilt with them. Diet culture is everywhere.. As a guy recovering from anorexia, I really appreciate people who just respect and appreciate their kai, without all that other faff. Thanks so much. You have impact in probably more ways than you realise!

Hey Thomas and Sheena, please visit the oyster factory in Opua, great spot best oysters I've tasted fresh and they also do fried oysters and chips, best I've ever had! you must try to know haha.
Hi mate! Omg yes, we’ve had oysters and fish and chips there! It’s such a cool spot eh?! Loved sitting out looking at the water. Hi Turn It Up World, it sure is a special part of the world. We travel full time so it’s been a long time since we were home- it was awesome getting to film after such a long time away. If you ever get there, check out some of these places- the food is brilliant! Thanks for watching and commenting 😄 Cheers, Sheena
*_Hāngi_* - Obviously you two know about Hawaiian kalua pig/pork which is also cooked underground. Lots of work and no space so most restos use traditional kitchen methods as Thomas mentioned. Delicious. Very cool to see the sides that were served with the pork...stuffing! That was a surprise. *_Eden Noodles Cafe_* - I'd be all over those noodles and dumplings. Mmm, mmm. Is pavlova not really popular these days or not your favorite? I was hoping it would make an appearance. Another fantastic day! NZ flew by.
Hi Tosh, thanks for watching this one mate! Yes! Would love to give the Hawaiian version a taste one day. Is it easy to find do you know? Or is it relegated to the tourist dining experience- ie booking into the special Hawaiian umu feast at the hotel? You’d love those noodles and dumplings I’m sure- we eat there every time we’re home! So happy you enjoyed the NZ series mate. Ahhh pav is a real favourite in our house but we always make it at home- maybe we’ll do a short cooking segment in our next NZ series so we can include it 😄😍 thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers, Sheena
Super casual *_Hawaiian Plate_* restaurants are in every city on the mainland USA and kalua pork is easily the most popular meat. A Hawaiian plate is choice of protein plus white rice and a scoop of mac salad - top 10 comfort food right there. Poke is the current popular Hawaiian food but kalua pork is the all time champ. But yes, traditional kalua (which means cooked in the ground 😀) is rare. The Polynesian center in Honolulu does it that way but like Hāngi, I imagine it's more backyard or special events. *_Pavlova_* - Glad you love it. I certainly read about pav before my trip to Sydney. It's not the first dessert people think about in the U.S. so would have been cool to hear your thoughts.
That sounds brilliant! Hawaiian Plate restaurants! Not something I've heard of before. Thanks so much for the info 😀 Ahhh yes, poke is all the rage in NZ right now!
Loved filming at home. It's been so long since we've spent much time there so we really enjoyed being back, visiting our old favourites and getting to film. Love that view of the city. It's from a volcano called Mt Eden/Maungawhau. - Thomas 😀

Absolutely Rahul Marksole, the diversity is amazing! Oh gosh the chaat took us right back to India- we dream about the food all the time 😍 can’t wait to return soon. Thanks for watching and commenting mate. Hope you’ve enjoyed the NZ series. Cheers, Sheena
It is amazing to know so many cultures. However, it is often difficult for people from non-native cultures to replicate some of their important dishes because the ingredients just aren't available in the country, so they either make substitutes when they can or they can't make the dish altogether. Also, some of the same produce can differ from the produce from the origin, for eg the mustard greens grown in Australia tend to be much less bitter than the ones in Asia and some fruits tend to be less intense than the ones from Asia.
Lordy, that was a delicious food tour. Every item looked amazing, we all wanted try them. River can't do Dan Dan yet, but wow. Looking into visiting NZ later this year. Can't wait for your next video. Any chance you're going to Marseille or Berlin soon?
😄😄😄😄 bet River would have loved the dahi puri- it’s our favourite! Omg hope you get to NZ- it’s a long way but it’s worth it once you’re there- it’s truly spectacular! No Marseille or Berlin on the cards unfortunately 😢- are you guys heading that way?! Thanks for watching team! 😘 Cheers, Sheena

The hangi kind of reminds me of traditional American Thanksgiving dinner. Very interesting to see it available at a restaurant in a take-out container since I haven't ever witnessed that here in America, although we all eat a pretty similar plate at least once a year ;P
Wow! Whereabouts do you live Carl? We always marvel at the diversity of Chinese cuisine in Auckland. We were walking down the street the other day and there was food from Hunan, Szechuan, Xi’an, Guangdong, Taiwan- side by side. So awesome.

I'm loving this series! Thank you for showing us NZ. That palusami looks so good. NZ Palm corned beef is the best canned cb, after all. Maori cooking method with hot stones - sounds exactly like the Hawaiian imu - must be a Polynesian connection there. And those Indian snacks are so mouth-watering!
So glad you've enjoyed the New Zealand videos. We're so happy we got to head home for a while and film these. We're very proud Kiwis so it's really nest being able to show off some of the food from NZ. That pie really was amazing. Such a unique pie. Hāngi is a really neat way of cooking. Gives a great flavour to the food and yes just like the imu. There are a few ideas about where the Maori arrived in NZ from and one of the thoughts is from the Americas. Love that place for Indian chaat also. Great restaurant! Thanks very much for watching and commenting. Cheers, Thomas 😀

We were there a couple of years ago when we did our road trip around NZ 😄 Thanks for watching this one, hope you enjoy what we have coming up on the channel! Cheers, Sheena

Love all those dishes! Definitely putting Auckland New Zealand on our travel itinerary! We certainly will meet up with you guys so perhaps you can take us to some of these delicious places! Yum!!
So well done I would like to try that pie !
It was so good Solomon! Rich and full of flavour. Thanks for watching and commenting on this one, hope you enjoyed this episode.

You should come to Lower Hutt, and Wellington
We totally need to get down your way! There are some spots we are dying to hit up! Thanks for watching and commenting Stephen. Cheers, Sheena

We're very proud Kiwis so it's really nest being able to show off some of the food from NZ. That pie really was amazing. Such a unique pie. Hāngi is a really neat way of cooking.
