    Hello Marcus, in August I spent my holidays in Portugal with my brand new Tesla model Y RWD. As you recommented, I got a miio card before arriving. I had no problem at all charging in Portugal, except for some busy chargers. The only problem was the price. I spent an average of 60 cent per kwh even on the slow 22 kw charging points. Is there a way to spend less in Portugal? Thank you Marcus

      In Portugal we pay by time... You should use CCS of 50kW

      @@GianLuca-fu7jk The 22kW charging situation on some chargers can be expensive because they charge by the minute, it is completely wrong and unfair. The slower an EV charges the more you pay. The only other alternative I see is to use Wenea which charges a fixed rate of 0.59€ per kWh, that is only 0.01€ cheaper but the pricing is more reliable. I am glad to hear that you had no issues 👍😜

      I used the Lidl 50 Kw chargers (that were always busy). The price was a bit cheaper but not that much, average of 45/50 cent per Kwh

      May be the residents have a discount related with the home electricity contract?

      @loroxtupi 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not true. Charging a Tesla in a 22kW charger at 0.02€\min is same price as Lidl

    There are many 22kw chargers with price of 0.02€/min which is similar price as Lidl. Tesla charges at 11kW. 0.02*60/11= 0,109€/kWh. In Lidl 0,08*60/45 =0.106€/kWh

      But what is your charging provider? With miio i've never spent less than 45 cent per Kwh in August. I charged in many different charging points, varying from 22 to 100 Kw of power

    Worth sending this video to the relevant Portuguese officials?

      @@Turtytreeandaturd I don't think so. When we have the Portuguese Association of Electric Vehicle Owners claim that we are victims of our own success, and continue to blame Tesla as a private network, I don't think anything will change. They keep saying how good the Mobi.E network is and how it only needs some small adjustments.

      it is in there interest to have a monopoly that doesn't work....the revenue is higher with fossil

      @@Turtytreeandaturd yet the +60% tax on fossil is more appealing....and you can't fuel at home with your own production (though that one is also a target for the state past 4kW production)

    why not use the actual tesla supercharges?

      I didn´t want to queue, so I used the Lidl Charger.

  • @JorgeniLund
    @JorgeniLund 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Actually: Congratulations, you have queues, that's good.
    The fact that you talk about the queues in Portugal only shows that electrification has taken off. With increased demand for charging stations, the supply will also increase. If market forces work in Portugal, that is.
    In my recent years' vacation, I have bought a month's subscription with Tesla. Their price has not always been the lowest but there has always been a free charger. It has been different at e.g. Ionity where almost all other car brands have different types of subsciptions. Rather a little higher price at Tesla, without a queue, than waiting at e.g. Ionity.

      Yes, electrification is going well. There are 8000 more EVs in Portugal every month 👍
