    Am I the only one who thinks dom is massively overrating the Azir play? Like everything he did was kinda basic. He hugs the wall under tower to be as far away as possible from the enemies. He uses q autoattack when Ashe+Eve run grouped into is range without any threats. He than e's to his already existing soldier when eve runs at him and bard q's him and ults the Ashe inside the tower since he is already standing next to her. Nothing of that is crazy. Like he didn't ult mid flight, he didn't manouver is dash between enemies and he didn't sidestep or cancel anything hard. He didn't even q in e or place a new soldier for it. The only reason it's seen as a good play is because it was hype and the enemies suicided to make it a quadra kill

      @@Cashmoneez it was iconic, but it didn't involve any impressive play. Or were pros back in the days unable to press buttons and it was impressive to react to a max range Bard q by using 1 spell and to use ult in the correct direction?
      It's similar to the Jinx penta where they didn't need any crazy mechanics because the enemies just were in a bad position which allowed the play to happen without any skillful outplay necessary.

  • @ZeroRizing

  • @gcfko
    @gcfko 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +11

    I agree with UmTi that Hauntzer's Shen was more impressive than DL's play. When I first saw this play years ago, I really thought this play was nothing special from Lucian.
    Lucian at that point could E and reposition every second and he needed to do was dash away from whoever was jumping on him and auto the closest target while Shen peeled the heck out of everyone.

    • @Zmargo702
      @Zmargo702 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@gcfko Watch it again in slow mo. This was so tilting to me when Umti said this too. there is no “shen play” he literally didnt do anything. he has tp but he uses ult on full health lucian just to join the fight, he gets caught with bjergsen on the wrong side of the taliyah wall, presses w, and bjergsen died anyways, then taunts up and MISSED EVERYONE. Then he literally just stands off to the side doing absolutely nothing while DL cleans up the team fight. The ONLY thing he did was taunt flash the 1hp, No dash, no flash Jhin. He didnt do ANYTHING whatsoever I dont understand the praise.

    • @gcfko
      @gcfko 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      @Zmargo702 no u watch closer, his taunt hits gnar when Gnar is mid w, making him aa him once, delaying his jump so that Lucian's e comes back up just in time. Even more impressive is his use of randuins, saving it for that moment so that reksai and gnar barely couldn't reach him, reksai knockup 100% hits if he doesn't hit randuins at that moment. And then he knows to stand in front of Lucian's ult to block any projectile that would hit him, in this case Taliyah's q. And he wasn't doing "nothing", he is positioning for when Lucian is going to e again; this man is 5 steps ahead.
      You have no idea how crucial and amazing that randuins and his positioning were, which made this play possible. Plus even if Bjerg did die, his w was good, waiting for Bjerg's pool to finish to cast it. Hauntzer did not panic cast any of his skills, it was pretty much perfect play from him.
      Maybe these are nuances that we notice as a high elo top/mid player, like when everyone was calling BrokenBlade trash when he was on TSM, there were certain positioning and mechanics that made me a huge fan of his and saw the potential in him, and this man at MSI made it look like he was the best Zac in the world.

    • @Zmargo702
      @Zmargo702 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@gcfko lmao im not gonna praise a top lane tank, especially shen, for body blocking two taliyah rocks at the very start of the fight and for pressing randuins in the middle of a team fight. Im ESPECIALLY not going to say its more impressive than what DL did. Hauntzer simply did his job as a tank. It wasn’t a crazy play. “Maybe these are nuances that we notice as a high elo top/mid player” LOL who is “we”? What is high elo to you? Unless you were a pro player in a professional league ur “high elo” experience doesnt mean much to me.

    • @gcfko
      @gcfko 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Zmargo702I'm not talking about taliyah at the beginning of the fight, I'm taking about when he tried flashing onto lucian but hauntzer gives him no room to land anything.
      Maybe cuz masters+ I'm used to most players having good enough hands that teamfight microspacing and zoning is more impressive to me, cuz to me, as you put it, lucian was simply doing his job as an adc and hitting the closest target and using his 1sec dash off cooldown.
      Let me put it in Smash terms, you can practice combos all you want in the training room, but playing good neutral and knowing when to execute it is what separates the good and bad players, and what hauntzer does in this play is enable the play to happen when all DL had to do was a singular task, dash away and attack closest target

    I wonder if the Fenix play is so high up for Dom because he was in the game, sees his mid get dove then sees him just randomly quadra. CLG just kinda walked into the azir ult without even hitting him or flashing it (which is hard to do tbf), Aphromoo essentially just dies to tower he doesn't take any damage from Azir himself. The ulti coulda been faster too.

    Nicole contributed heavily to Danny leaving but ultimately I think the reason he left for good and wont come back is because, and I mean this with respect, he realized he just wasnt built for this. The comments were getting to him too much and the stress destroyed his mental health. I think he intelligently realized he needed to step away permanently because it was all just too much for him.

      Tbh it's hard to say. A lot of his stress came from being autistic and EG not accommodating his needs especially at international events. And that stress than causes worse performance which results in more Stress because he feels like he is underperforming.
      Impossible to know if the normal Stress from being a pro would have been tolerable for him with proper care from his org.

    The fenix play isn't impressive cause it was a bad dive. and the jinx play is really good, better than the tristana play imo. They griefed so hard though, partially due to cool downs. CoreJJ having to use his revive on himself cause bjerg zhonyaed. Danny targetting is so good he sniped xayah with his range. Honestly the baron play in hindsight is so bad cause jinx is full hp and everyone is below 30% without ults or sums. And he has a tahm kench to bail him out. It should have been a turn play and just dying to kill the jinx if needed since they griefed so hard with the baron
    Honestly hauntzer did such a great job peeling on shen in that lucian play. After that it was just a parade of inting into lucian culling.
    So I would put danny jinx 1, danny tristana , dom gragas gank 3, hauntzer shen 4, lucian 5, fenix azir 6.

How are you rating it below some basic clean up or flash prediction in regular games?

    • @richardliu7838
      @richardliu7838 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      DL and Fenix also didn't do anything crazy in terms of mechanics or decision making, its all basics in terms of mechanical execution and awareness, no high level micro spacing or outplay to dodge key enemy spells, and a big part of their plays came from opponent massively misplaying. If anything Danny kiting out 5 people without getting hit by critical spells, even in a clean up situation and being Excited, required more overall awareness than DL's play. DL pretty much just got to kite back and hit the closest target the whole fight while having both summeroners, was never meanignfully threatened by enemy team because his team created enough space for him, and actually had small mechanical misplays/inefficiencies: wasted W at Taliyah when she ulted, then cancelled his double shot passive and wasted his dash after he Q'd Taliyah through the minions. Not to mention Jensen flashing into the Lucian ult inting to serve the teamfight win on a platter to TSM. Don't get me wrong, DL and Fenix plays are rightfully hyped for just how iconic they are, and DL's play won them a whole championship, but if we are debating difficulty of execution then DL's play literally ranks dead last out of this list - at least all the other 4 didn't have clear mechanical mistakes (unless you count dom missing his Q).
