If u want to rap then go rap. If u aren’t good get better. It’s a grind and everyone starts in a different spot there’s no destiny to it. It’s a matter of what you want and how much work you’re willing to put in to get there.

Just need practice for my flow and find a good beat to let out my emotions. Thanks Drew for all the tips. over the course of the past year and some change i've put in a total of 37 1/2 hours of actual rapping time. i don't expect to become a big rapper i just want to express myself. i started rapping at the lowest point of my life literally on the verge of suicide and just writing the lyrics helped me overcome depression. i then found myself wanting to get better at rapping because it's honestly something i enjoy doing at any time of the day. my current life situation isn't the best and it can be disheartening seeing zero progress financially but it's my fault because i procrastinate as a "bedroom rapper". not to say that my skills as a lyricist haven't gotten better because I've made leaps and bounds. i took a look at my first ever rap song i wrote at the end of December 2018 and compared to one i wrote today, the flows and the lyrics are just so much better. just believe in yourself and keep going. oh and if you read all this then i thank you for your time.

Dang dude, I feel you. I gotta lot of shit to say and I align with it all, but I have been alive for 1.) Not wanting my loved ones to be broken and wish they could've done something 2.) Somethings been holding me back, I should've been dead over a number of circumstances so many God damned times, 🙏🏼 and as much as I hated I wasn't, I feel this is my purpose and passion in life.
Idk if this resonates but sometimes it takes losing everything (mind, sanity, toxic relationship that held be back from doing this but will now inspire and fuel the fire 🔥, will to live, job on the line, fake friends, etc lol there's a lot) to realize what you're inner truth and meaning/ purpose is.
I wish you well my man, I know this is 3 years later but, you'll find your way and time, hang in there. ❤

I'm rapping as a hobby so I havent put in the time to be as great as someone doing it full time, but I still love it. Just started med school tho and it's about to get busier and busier. I hope if it gets too busy down the line (residency is like 3-6 more years AFTER medschool w 80 hr weeks), I can still pick it back up as soon as I clear up my schedule again. I spent the first unit of school just freaking out that I'll b old a'f when I can dedicate more time again, but I guess if I love it I gonna do it anyway, regardless of age.
I actually gonna make my next serious MV this break for a single I been working on lol. The past 3 vids on my channel have just been filler so I'm ready to put out some more quality, hopefully.

I lose motivation to rap on a constant basis
I never know what to rap about or write about and alot of instrumentals I find these days dont spark any kinds of feelings or thoughts in my brain
I've been writing for years but I dont write consistently because I get bored of it quickly
I simply dislike the lines I come up with and feel I dont have any discernible form of swag or style to make it pop
Personally I feel I need a very specific kind of sound but I haven't found it yet and idk what to do
Theres like a cell in my that still wants to do it but the rest of me is indifferent to the craft
    The videos are slowly helping

Thats because you push your self to write trust me just write when you want and it will go by itself just i do it this way i just surf on youtube and somehow i end up with free beats after that i listen some of them when i find someting i really like the flow comes and i just record a mumble version of it and try to write over that flow on a more lirical way.

Yelawolf I try to write and I feel like an idiot, I freestyle and I smack, but at as soon as I click record everything flys out my head and I go through this repetitive cycle of repeating the same bullshit just in different ways. It’s ridiculously annoying bro, I feel like I’m good but then I get all nervous or something, I hate it!

I'm a bedroom rapper q.q... The reasons i don't like rapping infront of ppl is:
    A. I rap about stuff i don't believe are a *fit* for my peers and social groups. (i do rap with, and for, ppl i musically connect with tho.)
    B. I rap about 40 words per bar, mix that with the nervousness of live performence = i run out of air
    C. I don't wanna rap for people if i can't perform at my best.
People have responded well in the pass when i did pull my shit together and rapped for them.
I believe most of the reasons are fixable through more practise and just not giveing a fuck...
(sorry for bad spelling/grama, i tryed my best mom)

Since I was a kid ( about 6 years old) I was influenced heavily by my uncle when he made music because he was the one I looked up to. I remember back in 3rd grade I would always write raps in my journal (don’t know where that is anymore). In 5th grade I would always convince my friends to freestyle with me and almost every weekend I will put on a TH-cam beat on my TV screen and just freestyle. Is this a good sign I should keep pushing? If you’d like to hear something recent from me, I can send you an email?

Yo, I was watching this video and couldn’t help but think to myself, it’s taken me 10 years of therapy, cbt and endless sessions of self help to get to the confidence level I am at and I get way too nervous to just up and start spitting, long story short I’m a bedroom rapper who is too afraid to even rap to himself, but I straight up refuse to let that stop me, I know for a FACT that if I was given the confidence I would be completely unstoppable, what advice do you have for someone like me who literally only gets joy out of music and the only thing I wanna do is make it in the industry, I know I can’t be the only one so I would recommend making a video because I need all the info, I need that, anything you got bro, I love the videos fr, they help for real, I’m only 20 years old and I’m counting on the industry, I hate my job and I hate a normal job, I’m telling you all this so you understand where I’m at, also I’m in London so you got love out her bro, help me out!

Well bro same thing over here.I am a 14 year old that is rapping from a year now, many people say I have potential but its pretty hard for me to become a rapper or record a song because I have very religious parents and their gonna hate if I sing or hear anithyng related to drugs,demons......
But I think I have some pretty good lyrics i could share with you.So right now i build myself a pc with my saving and at my birthday I asked my parents to get my a microphone because I want to start a youtube channel even if thats not true and I just want to just start recording a song.My rap influences are x, juice wrld, ynw melly and ski mask.
My current microphone is a headset one but I just realised that it sound s completely different then my actual voice even worst then my phone one.I should get my mic in the next few months and I am gonna start recording music from there and I am also gonna start learning how to make beats even if I don't know much about that.I am even trying to contact someone who isn't famous but makes good beats and could help me make a song

I record my s*** in my parents garage the s*** that comes out of my mouth would make them disown me probably but writing songs for 10 years and diving into vocalizing the thing I wish I understood earlier was that if you're going to make anything in this life you need to make it genuinely for yourself and the people who are like you and feel alone unheard or struggling to make it day to day
also don't forget to change what you write
      fun:
      Grammar and grit combined
      Sarcophagus sealed and shut tight
      Cement shoe swimming isnt fun
Currently suffocating offshore unseen by anyone
Cant commit crime no one knows been done
Witness the wrong sight and it might be blood
      deep:
Time Slips Away worrying about the day
too often we wonder what exactly to say
speak from the heart never hold your tongue
your Existence is unique and perspective one of one
there will never be another you or me
don't keep anything unsaid or undone when you leave

Yes, thank you! Stick to your truth and it'll all flow at the right time imo. A lot of people don't make it because they're writing about things that they haven't actually lived or felt, just superficial things, you can hear the lack of passion, when you stand by your originality and truth, the passion lies inside you and you can hear it in the way you write/spit.

I get complimented on my voice a lot from my reaction channel. But they say it sounds like a radio voice, something like podcasting. I'm still trying to figure out how to use it as a rap voice. The issue I have is delivery, but when I try to deliver, it feels forced and fake. I've been studying other deep voice rappers to see how they style, so hopefully I find a solution., however if I do it will be a weird one haha. This video has been helpful.
