These videos bring great entertainment into our homes so much better than tv. All beautifully filmed and as always packed with tips. Nice video of Tony he has not changed a lot, possibly the most friendly tackle shop owner in England, always takes his time with customers and terrific knowledge. Nice to see the old pike footage, don't remember seeing this before. Thanks as always for taking the trouble to edit and put videos up for our enjoyment.
Another great video to cheer us up during lockdown...like you i have no sea or lakes in my vicinity in Surrey and due to bitterly cold weather there are only so many chores that can be done outside to relieve the boredom...I have been fishing for 57 years and have like you experienced the best of sea fishing in 70's 80's and 90's but i still enjoy even the fishless days on the beach..i watch all of yours and Mikes videos and still learn the odd tip ...You never stop learning and thats the beauty of our sport...keep the vids coming👍👍👍👍
Not being weird or anything mr g but without your films over lockdown and even before lockdown I’m not sure I’d survived thanks so much you have helped people more than you know I think 🙏 thank you and if you feel the same thumbs up 👍 🇬🇧❤️
Pleased to be of assistance and the main reason I do the films is to pass on bits and bobs of information that have basically cluttered my brain for the (almost 3 score years and 10) The fact that the films have apparently helped some others through some difficult periods in their lives is a massive bonus which does in fact keep my own mind in some sort of balance....more films to come .......What else would I do ??? There's nothing on telly to interest me except for the weather forecast.
It was your old conger videos that brought me to your channel (along with sea fishing for beginners etc), it's your genuine passion for all things fishing that's kept me coming back year after year after year!... AND those conger videos equipment me to catch my best ever harbour conger and one or two others since. Much appreciated, keep safe and keep up the great work! 👍
That knot you call a blood knot we call a clinch knot in the US (at least in the mid-Atlantic we do). And the tucked blood knot we call an improved clinch knot. We call something else a blood knot, and it's a line to line connection that's essentially basically two clinch knots tied into each other. These videos teach me a lot about ways to approach different fishing situations with techniques (and sometimes even gear) that I've never seen or considered. However, if it was not for the video itself, I would have no idea what you were talking about half the time. Love it. Cheers Graeme!
This guy catches everything! I do indeed need to take notes, grew up in the states but living in Germany now..targeting European species can be a little different at times
Sardines... great bait for pike....nice pier conger...you would be surprised how big they can get from some shore marks......right bait right presentation....right landing gear...
Yet another AWESOME 🤪, compulsion video Graeme 🎣👍. Ha ha 😂. That not cold, when it gets down. To minimize 28 to 35 , that's 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶 🇨🇦. We go ice fishing, drilling thow 2 & a half ft of ice 🤪🎣
It was -10C with a stiff wind this morning and 9 inches of snow forecast for tonight. Nice to be able to fantasize about fishing - or anything unfrozen.....
Good to see you looking so well Graham. Great demonstration from Tony. Infectious enthusiasm. Brilliant show. Thank you. Ps........ Still happy to watch you sharpen a pencil.
Brilliant, thanks for this, nice to see the young folk, is he your lad?.....Oh, I have migrated through to winter pike fishing, we left the stone conger peir a few hours ago.
The pike float rig also works here in Oz for tailor, trevally, mackeral, mulloway and tuna. When using it I tend to run about 6 feet between the float and bait. This rig is easily scaled up or down depending on what you're likely to run into. 6/0 hook and a 10 inch mullet for cobia and such or down to a #2 with 3 inch herring for smaller trevally, bream or mangrove jack. Rigging a squid this way is killer. It's fun seeing tactics used here work for species on the other side of the world.
Hi Graeme, Great uploads in the last week. Your putting out more films than Netflix. Ha Ha. Hang in there Graeme there will be some big fish around after lockdown especially stocked reservoirs they have had a long time to put on weight. Stevie in Fife.
Normally use my big boat unhooking matt and a wet tarp when im fishing for shore conger. Really gets to me that its accepted for salt water species to not use a matt but if it was a carp or pike it would be the top comment. Esspecialy on rough hard concrete
Enjoyable video especially just now keep it up great seeing the fish come in stay safe tight lines My two sons love fishing for pike am not so keen on them lol
Nice compilation Graeme. Also now see why Mike grew a beard and changed his hairstyle, looks like a real pup there. Remember the days I looked like that too. Lol
Thank you so much for all your efforts Graeme and Mike. I know you are struggling like us but you still keep the quality coming. I love that guitar backing music you use on a lot of your vids , whats it called Kind Regards Stuart Bell from the thawing North 👍
Thanks Graham for another fantastic uplifting video in these difficult times 👍🏻if you get time can you do a video on how to clean your log burner and liner clean ? DIY Thanks 👍🏻
Great videos getting me through lockdown a treat! I was wondering if you had done any videos on canal fishing as I have just joined my local angling club which has rights for the canal and was looking for tips!
That wedge lure you refered to we call Kast Master come in a broad range of weights here across the pond as you Brits say . I've caught the most veriety of fish species on these lures than anything else I've tried including trout and 3 species of Pacific Salmon .
Awesome m8 . Love your content . It must be hard for you. As your not getting out. Im. Lucky as my content is about guitars and gear So I can still do what I do. Keep up the awesome work.m8
Hi Graeme great video, haven't seen Tony for a while so nice. Just a question if you can what is the difference between an uptide rig and a downtide rig just a bit confused. Thanks in advance
The boat is anchored so only the tide affects where your bait goes. You lower it down off the stern, the lead hits the seabed and you are fishing. Uptiding is casting away from the side of the boat rather than just dropping straight over the stern. Hope that helps. I'm sure we have a film up on our playlist featuring uptiding. We did one some months ago with Tommo, the skipper of "Lorna Doone" out of Watchet Marina,Somerset. I think we featured it on that film.
Small baits like brandlings or red maggots. I don't bother fishing after the snow starts to melt and go in the river,it drops the temperature and puts them off the feed for a while. That's my experience anyway.
@@TAFishing I always forget how cold it gets in the UK, whenever we get over, god knows when that will next be, we always smile when it is 7pm at the BBQ we are all wrapped up and our friends are still in shorts and t shirts. I have our aircon set to heat at 18 here at home in Aus!!
Weds film was entirely new,Fridays film was new and I said I would try and put some clips together before I deleted them to give people struggling with not fishing, something to watch ??
Sooooo jealous. Shore fishing for conger eel in the UK is definitely something I want to do. Nice.

Appreciate the comment. Hopefully it keeps angler's enthusiasm from waning too low in the current lockdown.

Thanks for these videos mate... without them I'd probably not get through this lockdown... see you on the bank...
Stay safe, bound to be light at the end of the tunnel, just that we all need binoculars to see it.
At least it's there...
Thanks, Graeme. A bit of light in a sea of darkness, thanks for the video great fun.

I usually do it around April/May...will have to make a note to film it.
@@TAFishing brilliant thanks 👍🏻
Lockdown is not a barrier to fishing. It is exercise and good for mental health. Don't think you can't go fishing because of lockdown; you can.
Great video Graham as usual, I can only last a couple of hours fishing in this weather.
Great video as always even my mrs watches you now she just ask me where abouts in Ireland as we are going there in the summer if lock down finishes
Lockdown finishes ??????...Summer ?????....The place is the Beara peninsula,south-west Ireland.Let's hope we all get the chance to get away.

Proper fishing when the brown cool box comes out.......
How can you stop plaice and other flatties swallowing the hook deep down...it's a big problem I find.....

When was this? Mike all baby faced!
Good stuff, as always Graeme! That Conger/Mackerell hooking technique should translate well to Zander fishing. What do you think?
OK I can watch this at 4:00AM.
A simpeler solution might be to rest reel handle on cement .
Do you have any tips for fishing rivers in the snow also sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions

WOW!!
Is catching conger anywhere in Ireland like that? Would love a go
Seems that way in my experience, but only if the pier/breakwater doesn't dry out at low tide.
Is the pike fishing at pondwood fisheries?
No.Different County altogether.
Please see how my boat capsized and sank in the deep sea while fishing 😫
Lock down? Hi Graham I thought since 19 Jan Gov confirmed fishing is allowed, qualifies as exercise?
Too cold for me at present...plus Feb can be a bit of a dire month anyway so not much missed (I hope)
