Just got the key and very excited. It was sold out immediately when we booked and after checking daily six or more times a day, it was finally available again. I think this will be a huge bonus since it will be the inaugural cruise of the Icon. Thank you for your opinions on it.
It does but it’s hit or miss. Black Friday is a big sale. However if it is selling well the price will only go up. They do everything on a sliding scale.
We’ve been getting the key every year and so far, in our case, it has been worth it. Of course each family/couples should look at this in detail, but the reasons why it is worth it is due mainly to 3 reasons - we always got internet packages thus part of the cost is a no brainer here - private times for most hard to get activities onboard - VIP seating for reserved shows All other perks IMO is still good, but because we have cruised before the key existed we know you really do not need it or will not hamper your cruise time just because you cannot have lunch/breakfast or even take your carryons… Also, we have been lately traveling on “newer” ships and the key has been fully integrated with newer ships. Lastly, do not get the Key if you believe you will be recognized or if employees will go above and beyond just because you are part of the key program. Though RC advertises the Key as an elevated experience, this program is more of streamline package rather than a luxury experience that you get with Higher room categories.
Forgot to answer is it worth it? Since I book our cruise a year out, I wait until the price drops below 32 a day per person. Anything below that is worth it IMO. If it is above that I wait and typically RC would lower the price. I have not seen prices as the video states for newer ships below $29. Now ships like Freedom of the seas and those types I have seen it below that.
Great overview of the Key and glad I come across your video. We will be on the Odyssey of the Seas for a Transatlantic sailing. The Key is $25 per day for 14 days. Do you think this is a worth at that price?
@@bernardscott-b5p I would say not worth it unless it’s really cheap. The. Best value is on oasis or quantum where you can get private times etc. but if it’s around 20 a day that is a good value
With 2 people in your cabin, you can have access for 2 devices at any given time. You can each have 1 device, or 1 person can have 2. You can switch devices any time, so long as only 2 at a time are using the service. ie. I will have access for my phone, my wife switches between her phone and her tablet.
We were thinking of getting the key for our trip we are a family of 4 and for our 7 day cruise it would cost us $700! Not sure the cost is worth it, your thoughts please?
I had seen that on some ships they were offering free room service as part of the key as well. Would love to know if that’s included as well on your next sailing!
@@onegoal03 they had done that during the pandemic a bit and I think that pops up on some ships that are older since there are not as many things to do. But not on the oasis or quantum class

Yes. Great call!
Hi. Do they go on sale? We’re going to Anthem if the seas and right now it’s showing it’s $48.99 per person and can’t justify that for this price.

The breakfast has some higher end choices. Steak and eggs or crab benedict.
Those are excellent as well!! Great point

I’ve heard you have to get a ticket for the tender boats…do you still have to do that if you have the key?
Nope. They have a special waiting area for the key
This will be me and my wife first time going on a cruise in September I been thinking about getting the key I want to know is it worth getting the key
What ship?
Voyager of the seas

Hi , cabin of two is n quantum of the seas . We have purchased the key, our check in time is 2pm will we miss the lunch or can we check in earlier ???
You can absolutely check in early
That is so odd you have The Key and they gave you that check in time!
Can you bring all your luggage to the drop off? 2 suitcase, and 3 carry-on bags?
As long as you carry them on the ship you sure can
No, I'm sure they have placed a 25-pound limit on bags. Check to see benefit and limits
When you get the key for two people in a cabin, do you both get your own internet access?
Just one to make sure it’s not 1 log in for the both of us.
Also when you book the key will there be an indication of it in your app?
You absolutely do

Def worth it to get special times for all the amenities like roller skating bumper cars and North Star. In my opinion anyway

Been on 14 cruises so far. Never had the key. Never even considered it. Definite no from me 👎
First cruise ever in two weeks. Bought the key.
Woohoo. Enjoy the vip treatment

@@onegoal03 we are too. We will be on in January.
Do you think $600 for a 4 day cruise for family of 4 is worth the cost of the key? first time cruisers...
Hi Daphne. What ship?
@@ByteSizeCruises Independence of the Seas
@@daphnephillips4196 if you are carrying on luggage and your family will appreciate the lunch def
No its rip off
Why wouldn't you just leave your luggage with the porters?
It's for carry on. So, people have meds in there, or bottles of wine, etc.
Whats the difference between giving porter your luggage for a few dollars vs luggage benefit from the key?
With the key you would have to wheel it on board and drop it off at the restaurant
@@ByteSizeCruises Just for smaller carry on's.
