Austin... you are the best of the best. I love your energy your positivity and the strength you put into creating an outstanding product that can hold its own against a giant like Microsoft. And above all, I'll never forget when after you got married you posted that photo from Piazzale Michelangelo in my beautiful Florence. ❤😂
I guess it's just an opinion. Thoughts that come to my mind are: it's cheap, it's used by flight schools and pilots. It's used by physical simulators, it's used to assist on the design of real aircraft, it's extensible, it's multi-OS and multi-platform, it can do things as shown in the video, it has an excellent flight model, it can work on multiple computers and multiple displays including projectors and, obviously, VR. Maybe other sims cover all that, too. I don't know. Just some initial thoughts.
Not just crashes but we are finding this useful for some cool analysis with just having real data and an easy way to have external eyes on the situation.
Thanks Austin! Your SIM is so damn useful to me as a pilot. I really helps to improve our skills. Ill wonder of some flight schools out the will use that feature.
This is an amazing feature and is something we have had to recently add to our plugin to create synthetic flight data to be able to test 700 + daily flights against scenarios and triggers within Flight Code-X. On a side note the jitter appears to be gps reflections from building and ground there is a building at the flight line that will always bounce around +/-25m ish
Can we use data from an ADS-B file, to attempt to simulate accidents? I presume we'd have to fudge (guess) some of the "required" values as ADS-B does not capture pitch, roll and yaw values....
This is all very well and good. However, I have recently moved to X-Plane because my previous simulator provider no longer supports the aircraft that has been my mainstay for maintaining my instrument skills for decades. I would be absolutely thrilled if you could find it in your heart to set the sim software up to support placing the instrument panel on one monitor, the overhead panel (where one exists) on another panel, and the centre pedestal (where one exists) on another. Being able to split the view through the windows among however many monitors one can afford and has space for would also be a boon. Being technologically challenged I have no idea whether this is a realistic request, but given some of the other enhancements of the system this seems to me to be a relatively simple thing to do.
Austin! Thank you! I am working on getting my sport certificate and now I can review my flights! Does anyone know if there is an Evector Harmony in XP12!
Fantástico! Não sou piloto real, mas consigo visualizar várias aplicações dessa possibilidade apresentada. Seguindo e curtindo o canal, e simulando com X-Plane 11 e 12! Saúde e paz!
this is really cool. im not a pilot nor do i own a plane, but can the general public get access to these files for flights that have happened in the past? or is there an online data base to get these files to try out?
Not really. You can get altitude, position and speed data from places like Flightradar24. It won't have engine data, and it will potentially have gaps and errors. Some high profile crashes have data published by the investigators.
It would be nice if you could save flight, "as is", like with Microsoft, and pick up where you left off. I know it's off topic, but a real peeve of mine. X people say it's up to the maker of the model, and I am wondering, can it be that hard?
Hi. I want to connect the x-plane 12 with 4 monitors. So I'm trying to buy a computer, but I have no idea how much specification I should buy. I will connect 4 monitors with FHD. I will buy the CPU with Intel and the graphics card with RTX, but what are the minimum specifications? The highest specifications are very financially burdensome. I'm satisfied if the x-plane 12 runs smoothly with 4 monitors.
Does someone know of an android app that stores the 7 required values? (I can reformat them in a spreadsheet, or write a script to do it, that's easy enough.) This would make it usable for people who fly under part 103, or if someone wants to do that with a drone. Also if you're wanting to have it display the landing gear, you could just watch in your own video when you retract/extend the gear and put that data in your file by hand. (Pro-tip use a spreadsheet to add a column, then re-export to csv.)
Please please please 🙏 Help make X aplane 12 clear. It's always fuzzy particularly acxirss the horizon. I am not anywhere near.out of V ram. 5609x 3070 64gb ddr 4 3200. Dca is clear why can't X Plane be too. So frustrating guys please help!
Hi, Austin. How you doing I have a strange request. I am a 12 year old boy that has been trying to get x plained 11 I really enjoy your games. And I was wondering if you could send me a flight setup? Consisting of a monitor and a joystick. Please if you get this request done I really appreciate it. Please man i'm begging you And if you can can you get me the Ex cub , I one day dream of flying about one specific Aircraft. Please 🥺

Wow! This will be great for us instructors!!!
X-PLANE 12 is literally the best flight simulator ever made 👍💯
Based on what?

@@bruceyboy7349 Yes, it's used by flight schools, but, not even Class D simulators are considered realistic by real pilots.
@lmb5529bml because it's got amazing graphics it's very realistic and they also have a FAA certified version of it
Thank you so much Austin & Laminar Team for XP12 I love it 😃😃
Thank you Austin and all the Laminar team! love your videos and X-Plane 12 of course.
Hi Austin, any way you can improve the propeller physic animation. For sure do not look correct in XP compared
Isn't that more to do with the shutter speeds of the recording device? Pretty low down the priority list, either way, I would think.
*I don't have my own plane , but this is just AWESOME ! Well done Austin !!!*
X-Plane is really the BEST flight sim !!! MSFS is just a game for kids !
This is super cool. I wonder if there is any practical use for investigating plane crashes with this. I love to see this unique type of innovation.
Not just crashes but we are finding this useful for some cool analysis with just having real data and an easy way to have external eyes on the situation.
no it isnt because thats a feature that has been in existance for like forever. Its just that xplane can do it now and makes it available to others.
Austin my main man! good to see ya

I’m wondering if this feature is causing the irratic and significant momentary drop in fps.
Where is the link to the fdr file?
There are several in the instructions folder under the xplane dir
@@laxarus3259 thanks
Hi Austin I was recently playing the simulator and the sim could do with another airliner. An a320 would be good since it’s a popular aircraft
This is why Xplane is the best

Can the time include fractional seconds or only whole seconds in the FDR files?
What is coming to 12.1.3 ? And will be have a xplane 13 ? I think the xplane 12 will be have update fora long time because the new price is R$ 215,00.
But remember, Austin Meyer always has gas! 😅
When does the x-plane store release

Very clever! I like your N-Number. I used to have N855X.

I’m a newbie to xplane. It looks like the throttle and rudder is not synchronized to the blackbox data
Where is the FDR file mentioned in the video?
In the airplane
That's great, but why the heck would I care about an X-Plane if I have a real one?!?!?!
Ask Austin, he has both 😂
How should I do this on my dad's Lancaster bomber?
Carefully.

How to f*****g connect my Reverb G2 to X PLANE DEMO TRAIL ? I want to try X-Plane in VR to see if I like it more than MSFS ! Thank you. !
Next upgrade: How to replay your XPlane flights in Real Life 😂
