This video takes me back. I grew up in Hialeah in the 70's and 80's, in fact not far from some of the places shown here. I remember Mae & Dave's. Back 1989/1990 I worked at a place near Mae & Dave's and we would go there for lunch. The food sucked but the beer was cold. I left S Florida a couple of decades ago so seeing this was a great trip back memory lane. Thank you for this trip back!!!!

My wife and I will be visiting Miami for the second time in a few months. We will be staying for two days before our cruise. I'm looking to drive through Hialeah and get some good food. Any recommendations? It doesn't only have to be Cuban food, but of course Cuban is number one for us.

@@thecapricorn11 Just curious, where in CA did you end up? I moved from NYC to LA about 16 years ago. It's hard to find good Latin Caribbean food here. Versailles in LA SUCKS compared to the original. And speaking of Versailles, first time in Miami 2 years ago and our Air B N B host said Versailles is worth going once, but it's a tourist trap. Honestly, we liked the food very much and kept going back. When compared to Old's we like Versailles more.

This is a good video. Hialeah is such a city in South Florida which contains a mix of opinions but its one of those cities with history and probably not at the level of Coral Gables or even Little Havana in regards to preservation but a city of facts as you mentioned

I grew up in Hialeah came here from Cuba 3 days before Thanksgiving November 1968.
Graduated Hialeah High School in 1984. If you look at the Hialeah Police uniform patch, Jack Tigertail
is on it. It is the seal of the city of Hialeah.

thanks for this brother. i'm working on a school assignment.
also, just want to extend the message of grace to you and everyone reading. There is a God that loves you, as you very well have seen manifested in your life in various ways. This God gave His life for you by sending His Son, the messenger, prophet, and messiah, Jesus Christ. As he gave his life on the cross, he once and for all shed his blood for our sins and we are healed by his wounds. May you carry on blessed on your day as you consider what this man has done for us, also in that he was resurrected and is alive, speaking to us a better word than ancient Abel, who was slain by his brother, and had blood that was crying out from the ground. the blood of Jesus gives us better testimony to the grace of God, because it is about our forgiveness.
May you turn from your sins in repentance (a message for the whole world, because no man is absent of sin in this life) and believe in the power of God through His Son Jesus Christ, find grace in time of need, and seek to fulfill your life's calling and purpose by his mighty power and blessing. Bless the Lord and bless you whoever reads this. In the name of the Son of God, the eternal King of Righteousness and Glory, and the friend of any that follows him and does the will of the Father, to hear him and keep his commandments. Peace and grace be to you. Thanks for reading.
